FOX 10 viewers sent in pretty amazing footage from a monsoon that rolled through the Phoenix area on Sunday, July 17. We're talking walls of dust, high gusts of wind, strong rain and heavy storm damage.

Hope Arizona keeps getting rain this season the state needs it.
The whole Sonoran desert need it !
6
Definitely
@@TheKarenBot yeah but there are definitely drought areas my dude...AZ needs it.
Yea unfortunately mother nature is hitting EVERYWHERE. Lots places need that rain.
That lightning last night was incredible. I haven't seen a show like that in a very very long time. Constant bursts illuminating the clouds for a solid hour or so with the occasional bolt to the ground. Was awesome
Was it loud as shit every time and scared ppl?
@@BlakeTedKord No we aren't 5 my guy. Lightning doesn't scare grown adults.
It's scary to me..I get in close the curtains...I don't like bad lightning 😳 😅 🖐🏾🖐🏾🖐🏾🖐🏾 i am 65💯
I love it
Call me crazy, but I always looked forward to monsoon season whem I lived in my adorable Phoenix. Wish I was there right now. That's my city even if I wasn't born there, that's my home. Praying I'll some day be able to come back home.
I love my furnace city, located in the Sonoran Desert too. Stay safe & greetings from Hermosillo , Son.MX
Trade ya!
As a Pool man here in the valley I gotta say I have a love hate relationship with monsoon season.
As a pest control pro, I feel ya! I work Awatukee/South Phoenix and occasionally cover Maricopa, Casa Grande and Coolidge.
It was such an incredible lightning show last night
AND IT WILL COME!
LIKE A FLOOD OF PAIN

HERE I STAND BENEATH THE WARM AND SOOTHING RAIN
That's cool I love thunderstorms. Here
So cool…we need more rain for sure 👍
When I lived in AZ... monsoon season is my favorite. The colors of the sky and mountains, the rain )))))))
The smell after the rain is heaven.
@@betsyross1621 it is, especially there since yall never get it as much as other places. U still live there?, if I may ask
That orange sky in the initial scene: I have only seen that the day after a major brush fire, and thought "Welcome to Mars." It's weird to look directly at the sun, it being no brighter than the inside of your toaster.
That's a haboob
*WASH AWAY THE ANGER*
Video starting about 1:21 is just plain beautiful.
Happy for you Arizonans . Coming at you from Texas send it this direction please. Thanks
Man made weather.
Not the monsoon it’s climate change , hot and cold weather clash
god made weather
@@southwestAZ .. Yup! But we’re destroying what God created . Stay safe & blessings & greetings from Hermosillo MX p, the Sonoran desert too.
THis is sooooo beautiful! Beginning to end! Thank you for posting!
Gorgeous shots!!
im always hoping this weather reaches us in San Diego coastal during the monsoon season, but it rarely does!
even though i live in a state where it rain most of the year... lol i miss Arizona monsoons
I live in Florida I get this kind of weather every day, there's actually a thunderstorm right now
Beautiful
Thatz Awezome☁️🌫🌩☁️⛈
Awesome!
Here in the LA Basin, we usually get these kind of storms in winter. Especially during El Nino.
Phoenix seldom gets rain and storms, unless it's the monsoon season like it is here. The heat there in the desert, unlike the heat here in the Deep South, the southeastern United States, doesn't come with humidity. It's a dry heat. Arizona probably never had tornadoes.
Caught a 4 lb bass at eldorado during this on a wacky rig senko green pumpkin 🎣
90% of the monsoon season consists of gleefully watching huge cumulo-nimbus clouds form over the Yarnel Mountain thinking we are going to get soaked only to watch the pressure from the heat of the valley push them back to Prescott and create a huge wall of dust over the whole north valley..then to add insult to injury 3 drops of rain carry over and drop on your windshield. Very disheartning. But when it does make it over the hill or come from Tucson it is a sight for sore eyes.
We got rain and parts of San Diego from this storm we also had that surreal Orange Sky. The monsoonal weather pattern is definitely changing and becoming more powerful
Pray,,that weather gets better soon
The weather is better...it's not all just sun lol
First of all "NO," and secondly, better than what??
The first bit of footage is from AZ City. We had a storm that knocked power out for 2 full days at my house during 112° days! That was a freaking nightmare!
Lots of nitrogen for the farmers fields, they love lightning and rain at the same time.
Where at in az you at ?every part of desert i remember is full of gun shells
I have a park behind my house, so we couldnt see it because of all the dust in the air. But the next morning after the huge storm I look out my back door and half the trees in the park were fallen down..
Those are rain clouds being bombarded by Chemtrails😢
Proof please.
With recent solar flares and radiation not as many planes are flying to spread chemtrails
They are called contrails, but I know, the millennial version is what you posted.
Looks like a dust storm at first
And this is just the beginning. ... we ain't seen NUTHIN' YET!
These next 10 days will be huge! Hope for the best.
SW Minnesota is in a drought. I'd love some of that rain but yes that area is running out of water. Hope people are using rain barrels.
I wish we had more summer weather like this in California.
Sometimes your mountains and deserts get them in the summer. But near the coast, is rare.
@@oldiesmusic76 I remember back in 2015, San Diego received like 2 inches of rain in the middle of July. I had never seen anything like that in California. I think it was the remnants of a typhoon coming up from Mexico.
Don't be too jealous, we don't get it too often either hah
No, you don't. I've lived in it an entire summer, but worse in Kuwait. I've never missed those days!
We got some serious rainfall this morning in Arizona City! Considerable flooding in some areas!
Those dust storms or haboobs are bad for people that have respiratory problems, who are overweight, have heart conditions, diabetes and hay fever allergies. Increases in Valley Fever cases increase with haboobs.
We could use some of that in texas rn
We don't get that here in Las Vegas.
Watched the storm
Grammy if you are still out there I love you. Wish I could come visit
1:20 that footage is sped up right? I just watched NOPE and it’s kind of freaking me out 😆 Hope everyone stays safe out there 👍🏾
Did I see lightning during a dust storm?
Barely any rain!!
I am planning on moving to AZ but is this the only time you guys get any measurable rain?
your not welcomed here !
Pretty much most of the time...sunshine about 355 days a year
More rain and snow for Arizona
Snow?? in July?
In the West valley we're getting nothing like this
You rarely do. They always come from the east and they dissipate by the time they get to you.
Rain storms avoid the west valley like the plague.
@@paulsturgill8848 wats bad about the west valley?
@@BlakeTedKord The rain avoids us.
Yuma and Blythe being the driest!
And July 17, 2023
**THAT HORRID ORANGE COLOUR OF THAT DUST CLOUDS IS APOCOLYPTIC!!**
Yes creepy
You don't need a hurricane or tornado 🌪️ regular storm in Florida is way more hardcore
I just left Arizona for this reason these monsters are crazy and bad for people that have COPD had to come back to Cali
Good riddance
I'm pretty sure it's supposed to rain out helicopters and the Washington monument
A monsoon? Wow never heard of AZ getting one before.
Every year!
We have monsoon season
A haboob would be murder on my hay fever
To wicked for me looks like end world
That's not a monsoon that's a haboob
Too bad they can't harness all that rain water.
It would be easier to use the water we already have if California would stop stealing over 50% of the Colorado river to produce almonds for the rest of the country. educate yourself before you form opinions about my state. we produce enough cotton to clothe the entire united states you are more than likely ''literally wearing Arizona right now''.
First it needs to soak into that parched desert ground you have and revive the plants.
Lots of CG's
You'll never understand Cern sky clouds rain thunder.I feel no need to explain you will never harm or steal from anyone again. Call it Karma. I can't wait to embarrass chase banks let's make fun of them Now I'd love to personally meet each manager of Chase Bank to stop thefts
