I think I read this in the New 52... can't remember. It's been a while and I'm WAY behind. If I recall wasn't this the storyline where Joker was using some chemical to regenerate from wounds and was actually hundreds of years old? When was this arc? I want to go back and catch up. 😀 By the way, GREAT narration and character voices.

Batman is set to almost kill the Justice League but has simple handcuffs for the joker. At this point it feels like he enjoys what the joker does.
Definitely beginning to think the entire Batman and Joker plot is just an elaborate “enemies to lovers” story.

@tutumazibuko2510 It makes a lot of sense Batman is a guy of reason, and if he killed one guy, how much easier would it be to kill the next? Injustice Superman is a perfect example. Superman, thought to have been incorruptible, broken with his wife and unborn child murdered. Superman did no hesitate to kill Joker, and while he was going easy on convicts at first, he eventually started killing again, eventually killing Billy aka Shazam. The real problem, other than the writers constantly letting Joker get away, is gotham's justice system consistently letting Joker go to an Asylum instead of giving him the death penalty.

It was a little frustrating when Bruce had hypersonic speakers capable of stunning Wonder Woman in the pockets of his recovery outfit, but doesn't have an answer for a cell door in his fully prepped gear.

It was in his utility belt, you can see at 2:20 and 2:27 that he has it in his hand. How he managed to grab it in the split second between Julia noticing something and Wonder Woman smashing him into the ground is the real question. But also it is kinda weird he didn't just pull out a small breaching charge that he has been shown to have and just blow a wall to get out of the cell.
He knows lockpicking too so this was whole new layer of weird

He was infected, can't expect that level of clear headedness from him, although it does seem he was still somewhat in control. Maybe the virus had enough control of him to prevent him from thinking rationally.

@@breadandcircuses8127 Part of the reason is that Hollywood has historically been terrible at maintaning long-running story-driven sagas, with the MCU being the biggest effort to subvert that, and even then, it's been on a downward trajectory after Endgame. In Batman's case, there's always something that messes us the current continuity forcing them to start over (executive meddling ruining the Burton-verse, the death of Joker's actor from the Dark Knight, the DCEU... being the DCEU), so there isn't enough set-up to really get into the weird interesting stories. At least we have the animated shows and movies.

You guys need to read the other comics, endurance enhancers have made him recover from a shovel stabbed in his torso. Batman takes multiple durability enhancers which numb him to pain. Even as a Batman fan I get that this plot armor stuff is getting out of hand but he’s literally one of the first superheroes and is a human. The writers will always make him the underdog and still win.

They always talk about his body breaking down, but he's still somehow magically functional. Even though his bones, tendons and brain take a lifetime's worth of MMA beatings every weekend. I guess it's like in Dragon Ball Z shonen power fantasy things - where strength isn't based on any internal logic. But the external popularity of the character. Goku gets to be a god, while Tien is a schmuck even though he shouldn't be. So Batman's super power is meta: He gets screentime in conflicts he has zero means to realistically contribute to. Because that's what the fans want to see.

Yeah, and it just kept getting more and more out there. The Joker can dominate the entire Justice League, and then he can start a zombie apocalypse, and patient zero just HAPPENS to be Joe Chill, and Joe Chill isn’t super old, for some reason, and the Joker is a force of supernatural chaos who has been around for the last 100 years, and bullets don’t work on him, and he can start fires by snapping his fingers. It sounds like something that would happen in Batman’s head under the effects of Scarecrow’s fear toxin, and they mention that he is under those effects when this comic starts.

The level of consistency with how affective kryptonite is, is really dumb. A piece of gum mixed with kryptonite was enough to knock out Superman? Really? I get he was hurt from the mini red sun gauntlets which is already fucking insane but the gum was just stupid. It’s almost as if the writer realized that if Superman legit didn’t care about killing Batman would be screwed.
The gum did hit Superman’s EYE. Pretty sure if it was in his chest it wouldn’t have done anything

The Joker Justice League is a threat that I am pretty sure not even the normal Justice League can take. I get that Batman is prepared with his plans, but it does get a bit plot armory. (Y'know?)
It's because no one just comes and outright kills him, they wanna give him time by talking shit but the moment he realizes you're trying to hurt him you're already in a losing fight.
Nah, Joker gas doesn`t make you smarter or better at planning. Just as drugs - they numb out certain parts of brain and personality, so JL was severely nerfed there. Without the Joker gas they could`ve avoided about half of stuff he uses. Or maybe attacked all at once

And if he had time to actually prepare for an attack without rush, he certainly could make the fight without as much risk or property damage. Ok so, I know that Batman is all about rehabilitation and such, but at this point Joker has actively brainwashed other superheroes... why the hell did Bruce let things get to this point? An accurate Batman vs. Superman would be over in one page. No one would buy it. The best approach to the “Batman vs. Superman” concept was in the animated series. The two heroes teamed up to take on Lex Luthor and the Joker, and they clashed over the appropriate methods they should use to fight crime. By the end, they had arrived at a place of mutual respect and friendship.
This is the best narrator you have had.
For the smartest guy on the planet, not permanently paralyzing the joker, putting him in cryrostasis, a medically induced permanent coma, a lobotomy,, or something of the like is just ridiculous. Some sort of permanent solution that still affords them life, albeit a poor quality life, but life all the same.

They left Hal Jordan out for a reason because it wouldn't have made it past his defenses, the same with Cyborg, and even Superman is stretch. They want to make Joker a world level threat when his city level, maybe nation level at best. He is so overrated at times. The same with Batman. I really like him, but the BS he pulls with at times makes no sense. Also for some reason in Batman comics all other heroes are at 5th grade level of intellegience.
It's kind of like how you'll never see a video of people get away from cops even tho it happened all the time, the writers want you to know that no matter where your from, you can even be a GOD, NOTHING is more powerful than $.

Their power level and screentime is proportional to their popularity. What the fans want to see is what they'll get. This is how most wrestling series work, from Dragon Ball Z on. It helps to think of it more as a sport that we're watching, than a logically consistent independent world.
