2024 GNCC The Old Gray - Monterey, TN - Women’s Bike
Sorry for all the foul language, just like most others I was having a bad time and traffic was very frustrating.
This race has got to be my least favorite race I’ve ever done, the parking was even a joke.
600 riders on a 9mile track was insane.
I can’t even begin to describe how awful the track itself was, with barbed wire fences running alongside a lot of the trail, cedar tree branches cut on the sides of the trail with stubs long enough to impale you, and ribboned off track not allowing you to ride off the narrow quad trail. After the quads knocked off the 2 inches of dirt that place had to offer it was just slabs of smooth wet rock everywhere.
This race probably would’ve been a lot more fun if it hadn’t poured the whole week before, starting on the Tuesday of that week.

Thanks!! Definitely this one. I get enough experience in sand from home tracks in Oklahoma but we don’t have rocks or roots anything like this race! It was really tough for me. Will you race Hoosier ?
Frustrating! Add to that...gotta love it when there are 2 to 3 line choices, yet people want to follow your line and rev at you.
I know my frustrations had a lot of play in how irritated I was too 🤣 hopefully better luck next time 😝
