  • Einar will not fight with a sword or axe at Ragnarok, but with his voice, he will play the final song we all will ever hear.

  • The sun has turned in the autumn lies the hope. Sun-filled summer and fertile fields. To the three norns, we ask them to spin life in fields and meadows, in bosom and bring. A year of peace, when the stalks rise and earth. If the vords lure their lure song. On early seeded field does no-one know little. For much do I know about spring weather. Grow grow, little sprout, days break and the darkness dwindles. The sun has turned and the wheel has turned. The sun turns the autumn sends the grass yellows, leaves fall bright days are on the wane. To vords and supernatural creatures, we thank you with our song for years of peace.

Til - vettar, vi takker for ár og friðar. - English Translate - I saw and I interpreted, when the sun turned. Signs of harvest for cattle and kin. Solstice. Black night. The sun has turned in the harvest lies the hope. Summer rich of sun and fields of many grains. Wights and -, we thank for harvest and peace.

    • Ragnarr Loðbrók Well..As I said,I didn't know it about Ucraine,only that they have high percentage of R1A1 DNA,more than 45%,still under Poland,but they always were our cousins",so it means something.

    • Ragnarr Loðbrók Actually the Kievan Rus aristocracy was of Norse origin. Ukraine itself was founded as a Cossak state.

  • chris bertram actually Norse paganism is an offshoot of Germanic paganism, the Norse renamed the German gods. The Norse historically were largely Germanic culturally and ethnically, which is why languages like Icelandic and Norwegian are relatively easy for English speakers to learn, they're western Germanic languages.

    @michaelharder9737@michaelharder973710 жыл бұрын
    • Actually they are Northern Germanic languages, and Icelandic is a lot different from modern Norwegian since Norwegian was heavily Danishized with the unification of Denmark-Norway, Icelandic is a bit more modernized but still holds onto it's archaic ties refusing to incorporate Latin or Greek words (which is fantastic) Icelandic is actually much more difficult than Norwegian to learn, coming from a person who is learning Icelandic.

    • +Brennt Ramoutarius English is Germanic, but the amount of French influence it had through the Norman conquest by William is gigantic.

      @peterk1643@peterk16438 жыл бұрын
    • Peter K French is also Germanic in origin.

      @michaelharder9737@michaelharder97378 жыл бұрын
    • Michael Harder No it isn't, the population of 'France' when the Franks started ruling it were Gallo-Roman (Celtic-Latin), the leading elite were Germanic (Franks). The Franks in France surely influenced the language but it's the elite that started using the local languages and lost their own in the process. The Roman Church and geographical/political boundaries influenced that process a lot. The Franks who kept their own language are living in the present Flanders, Brabant, Limburg, Holland regions (Dutch) and in Franken (German).

    • jara/jera/jar/ in the multitude of germanic runes is a symbol which represents coming prosperity, it is connected with the harvest, its the etymological origin of the english word "Year" also dont listen to new agers when you want to know the truth of something, they'll just fill your mind up with their unverifiable personal gnosis which has no basis in actual history and does an injustice to the ancestors by appropriating their symbols and denying their true origin, Sæll
