George Chuvalo's Last Stand - Documentary
-
A documentary about George Chuvalo made right before his comeback fight with Bob Felstein in 1977. He felt like the Canadian Heavyweight title was taken away from him unjustly and wanted to prove a point to the Canadian Boxing Federation in this comeback.

George Chuvalo's final boxing record: 73-18-2
Chuvalo always comes across as a humble gentleman in interviews.
To overcome the personal tragedies he did and to go on, makes him a champ.
Unbreakable both mentally and physiclly! Thats trully the baddest man on the planet!
I'm going through a bit of a hard time. Keep looking to chuvalo for inspiration to keep going. Never fails

I drove Chuvalo home once what a guy!
Legend.
I knew George well from Sully's gym. I used to work with his son Mitchell. I knew Mitch when all his brothers and mother were still alive.

A great wonderful man that is and always will be a champion
Total legend. What a inspiration
Always enjoy watching George's fights, one very tough hard as nails fighter famous for his iron chin (as well as an underrated puncher). A true great.
This dude is the toughest boxer I have ever seen. He fought all the greats and was never knocked down.
George Chuvalo is probably one of the toughest fighters to ever enter the ring in modern times. He fought them all, never ducked no one, they ducked him though, and with good reason. George was the greatest fighter to ever come out of Canada. In his two fights with Ali he gave one of the greatest Heavyweight Champs the roughest, most punishing fights of his career. His tot-to-toe with Frazier
Hell this is one seriously hard dude!
I have a ton of respect for Chuvalo. Watch the documentary about his first fight with Ali.

Fight George Chuvalo. You will receive PAIN.

Chuvalo would've beaten Henry Cooper for the British Commonwealth Championship if he got a crack at it. Chuvalo was just a flat out better fighter who beat and fared better against better overall competition. Chuvalo was also ranked higher in the world than Cooper ever was. It's a shame Cooper dodged him for years.
Chuvalo was a straight out beast no question. Wished he got more credit and recognition during his career the guy would give it to anyone.
I have George's book on Kindle. It is very good and interesting.
Total respect for chuvalo
sorry I hit the wrong button (below). in 1966 is a classic now in tough guy fights! That damn eye injury ended a fight that probably would have gone down as one of the greatest ever. His fights with the best in the business are legendary in scope and number. Ali (2-times), Floyd Patterson, Joe Frazier, Oscar Bonavena, Jerry Quarry, Jimmy Ellis, Ernie Terrell, Doug Jones, George Foreman, just to name a few. Frazier and Foreman, hardest hitters in modern times, could not put George down, and they fought George in their prime. George always came to fight and was a fan's dream of a "brickhouse" boxer that asked no quarter! Thank you George for your many fights and many years of quality sports entertainment for boxing fans!
CHUVALO STILL GOT IT AT 30+!!! WATCH OUT!!! THIS AIN’T NO BUM!!!
kzhead.info/sun/YNqip9CGeICJY5E/bejne.html
Indeed he aint no bum. Champ until the end
actually it was Chuck wepner aka the bayon bleeder. Chuvalo is a much much bigger man then wepner ever was.. he's a great guy and a great champion altho never world but a true champion in the heart. you should watch him talking about his life.. it really brigns tears to even the most hardened men.. there used to be a documentary 15 min long called still standing george chuvalo maybe you can find it somewhere.
Knocking out 4 men one night? I don't understand, I've never heard of a pro boxer having more then one fight in a single day
Zerlono1 Years ago in the 1920s it was pretty common to fight three and four times in one day Jack Johnson I believe had three fights in one night, but from the 40s on it was highly unusual to have that many fights and one night because boxing became more regulated and there were more rules to prevent the kind of activity that one on in 1920
Foreman fought 5 men at the same night
5:06 I need this combo right now, give me this now!
great guy.
@TG7111P yup, he won back the Canadian title and defended it twice before retiring again in 1978. All three fighters were knocked out.
0:00 Whats the music
It was him who inspired the Rocky' s story!
dejunqi2008 Georges Grandson Jesse here. Steven Louis Chuvalo's son. Thank u for being the first youtuber to mention this.
all respect to shovalu
Mike Tyson would say "Chuvalo? mmmm... hes cute"
5:06 I’m the next Chuvalo 😈
It was partly based on Chuvalo too. Stallone even uses a picture of Chuvalo during the ice rink scene where Rocky shows Adrian a picture and says that it's him fighting. But yeah, Rocky was a club fighter. Chuvalo was a top ten fighter who was able to sell out Madison Square Garden. big difference
Jesse O'Hara are you for real "Rocky was a club fighter" Rocky was fiction if you didnt know man shiiiiiit
JURE ČUVALO FROM LJUBUŠKI HR=HB
Everyone knows George in real life in the comments
Watch Foreman vs 5 opponents
feldsteen???sounds like a hedge fund man not a fighter.bum
AFUKIN CROAT
Feldsteen was right, Chuvalo couldn't be outfought, only outboxed (well, cept for maybe the Frazier/Foreman haha). Lion's heart, hands of rock and a chin of Godknowswhat.
NOT DURO
