How This YouTube Channel Got Started and Became My Full Time Job
Please FOLLOW / 6thgeargarage (Likes don’t count toward the 5000 follower goal)
Today I take a break from wrenching on old rusty Toyota trucks to share the history of this channel's intoxicated beginnings, years of growth, latest achievements, and future aspirations. Also, say hello to my little friend, from Fortune Laser! Thanks for following my journey and stay tuned... 2024 is going to be a great year!

Congrats brotha! Well deserved.
Thank you!
Congrats dude! I found you through the Toyota videos , but I'm staying here for your entertaining style. I actually like watching you peel back the skins on the pickup and repair the rust, YT algorithm be damned.
Thanks! This machine will speed up the 1980 resto, so I can get my next project in the garage soon - rusty 1985 4runner!
Thank you for all your Ford Edge content
It was a great vehicle until the water pump gasket failed on the highway, mixing coolant with oil and sending metal shavings throughout the engine :(
im a long time follower and never been disapointed on any video keep posting man !! cheers
Thanks man!
Enjoyed this, enjoy your channel, big congrats to you, well-deserved 🍻here's to 1M subs asap. And don't worry about the algo too much, it will come and go over time. I'm sure if you keep doing your interests the channel will keep climbing.
Thanks so much!
Well deserved and well done on the 100k subs, next stop 150k!
Thanks! I'm excited to be doing this full time!
Started watching this channel 3 years ago with the video "Toyota Solid Front Axle Knuckle Rebuild/Birfield Replacement - 80 Series Land Cruiser FJ80 FZJ80"
Ah yes, that was my first Birf job. Thanks for sticking around!
I just found your channel because is searched for a how to change your toyota pinion seal video! Great content!
Awesome! Thank you!
Nice laser cleaner!
Thanks! the 220 adapter plug is on the way and I'll be able to start blasting some rust next week!
I just subscribed
Hey man I'm so happy you're doing great. I know you from the Civic EG forum, you were one of the very few that actually answered my questions and honestly some of your tutorials and write-ups in there really inspired me and helped me build some confidence working on cars. Much love and greetings from Eastern Europe!!!
Awesome, thank you! The forum is still around, although pretty much a ghost town these days, as most forums are. I've considered closing it down for good many times, but I just can't bring it to myself to delete so much history and quality information from the internet.
Congratulations on 100,000 subs!🎉 Brian you earned it! Took the leap and now all the hard work will turn exponential ! To bad that laser showed up after the frame job😅 thats life though. Your in for a great year, just an idea for your channel? You need a second individual in your video's or a work mate to help entertain and team on stuff, the big guys all have a possy.
Thanks 👍 yeah, I really miss working with somebody. On the other hand, I do probably get more done without someone to drink beers with! I'll have to get Mikey back out here when I can use a hand putting the ohio cab & engine back onto your southern frame. Thanks again btw - LMK when you're ready to set up your YT channel!
Good for U
Thank you!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤣🤣
I just followed your FB page.
Thank you!
Sure that laser is big enough for Ohio?? Sorry dont do facebook...Zuck Sucks....
I hear ya... I never bothered with growing a channel on FB because a few years ago, I wasn't sure how much longer it would be around... but somehow it's still going. I might as well get some use out of it right? I'll be figuring out the laser next week, the 220 adapter plug in on the way!
Looking forward to watching your Ohio rust laugh at your laser....@@6thGearGarage
