Join the concrete crew as we begin work on a large driveway, patio, and front walk. The inspector showed up and successfully made me mad but other than that we had some unexpected GOOD weather for a change. We ended up pouring the patio and front walk and are ready to pour the driveway.

Don't worry about it ryan, the inspector just getting a buzz from his power trips, dude needs some more love in his life
As a construction worker, there is nothing worse than a inspector who uses his power just to feel powerful. Can’t stand that. There are good inspectors out there, but there’s always a couple who just want to be jerks.
Yeah they can be a pain for sure. I don't think this guy was doing that though. He was sincere about the ground settling underneath Ryan's great work. Which it inevitably will. Ryan even said the property excavation was a shotty job in the beginning.
Tell me! Im dealing with one of those 😅 he’s right if we go into the books but come on man just a lil common sense

@@MidgetPunter Corporate Personhood is a 2010 Supreme Court decision establishing constitutional rights to corporations.
Ah, the classic know-it-all inspector sharing their wisdom of all those 0 years of practical experience... Should be a requirement you have previously worked in the field before becoming an inspector. So many do not and it shows by their remarks. It drives all of us nuts, it's no difference in any other construction field.
Around here it seems the inspectors all have worked in the business. Trouble is they were homebuilders who went out of business then went to work for local communities as inspectors trying to tell the successful builders how they needed to do things.
My father used to say they are guys who couldn't make it in the trades!
Here in the UK it’s just the same. Too many kids straight outta college as they can’t hold on to the experienced ones. Should be compulsory for Inspectors and Architechs to have done time on the tools.
Yes!!! I agree!

It's not the original quote, but it's the first thing I thought of as well.
you're right the good ones did it first then decided to lighten the work load. They're not overly common though.
I just wanted to comment and say I’ve been watching you for the last 2 years and honestly I look forward to the videos, and what’s funny is over the last 2 years it was cool to watch how everyone grow as a team, some left but the ones who are there still have grown so much. And it’s so cool seeing you get the new land, and start achieving your dreams! Thank you for the great videos I can’t wait to see what’s to come!
That’s def a starter issue
Im a residential building inspector in my hometown. The number one issue that I have seen from other jurisdictions or the inspectors before me is misunderstanding the difference between interpretation and ignorance when it comes to a trade, the building codes and the laws of engineering. Small minded people are given so much authority that any push back triggers them spewing nonsense to win an argument rather than researching, reinforcing, and planning a corrective action that better suits the project manager, their subs and the local jurisdiction.
Most inspectors were never tradesmen or engineers and have a very poor understanding of what they are even looking at or the actual regulations that govern the work.
I have talked to inspectors that will not answer questions and will repeat themselves and change the topic to avoid any actual information asked of them.
@@KMVS8686not like that here in the states

I’m a plumbing contractor in NJ, and some of the inspectors around here are just like that fella that was in the video. They “know” the code back to front, and there is no deviation in it. Where in Jersey? I'm also a plumber in Jersey but mostly work up North (Chester, Mendham, Long Valley, AKA where the big money is). I know most of the inspectors in this area and they're really good and do know what they're doing. My old boss is currently an inspector in Sussex County, he was a 20 year vet in the plumbing business so he knows his stuff front to back, zero tolerance for hack work so he's always telling me stories of jobs he failed and trust me, these hacks deserve it. I also work a lot in the Flemington area and those guys are mostly good over there. If these guys call you out on something, it's almost surely you did actually do something wrong and they're not just trying to give you a hard time for the sake of it like many other inspectors do. Central and South Jersey is where all the bad inspectors are from my experience. Those are also the areas where I try not to work in if I can help it.

Stuff breaks and preventative maintenance is very expensive on equipment. He has 2 machines, no need to go through tens of thousands of dollars every year. Sure he could have them buttoned up nicely every winter, but the losses that the breakdowns generate are significantly less, than the cost for the yearly big trip.
@johnwells920 Your absolutely 💯 right I don't own own equipment but I do however know how business works and to me and I could be wrong it won't be the first time, anytime there's these kind of issues it never hurts to be sure I'm not getting the shaft.

I'm going to weigh in here. My feeling for some time is that I'd find a different dealer even if it meant switching to another brand. Notice the New Holland. Bobcat sees him coming. Ryan should find a good hydraulic shop where he can get hoses and such. Maybe find a good field mechanic with a service truck. It costs a lot to have a machine down. I'm not sure what engine the tandem has. If it's a DT 466, I don't recall injectors are that big a deal. The fact that Ray just ran over the wheel chalks again just shows that he's still not doing his pre-trip inspections. The issue the T320 is having is most likely the temperature sensor is no longer good or if you had that replaced already then its faulty, I'm basing this off what you have already said and from the code you gave. Inspectors are always fun to deal with.
I didn't know why KZhead kept recommending this to me. But those few seconds at Kwik Trip warmed this transplant's heart.
Hey Ryan, I've done my fair share of work in that area. I have dealt with the exact same inspector. I will just say he is well known among the trades. He tried calling out an existing framing and window detail on a remodel we worked on one time. Guess what? We did our research and found out he approved the exact things he was trying to call out 10 years prior when the home was built. He didn't have much to say except, "Huh." You're sharing the same boat as many others, so I guess you could say you're in good company! 😂
Ryan, your AC will run all winter long. Vehicles are designed to have the AC compressor run periodically when the heater is in the defrost position. That’s so the compressor stay lived up and doesn’t seize up from not being used for long periods if time.
You possibly know when they started this? Or is this something that's been around a while. I'm just curious if this is a newer car thing. Don't be mean please, just trying to learn.
Absolutely. It's the best way to demist windows - dry air. As soon as you select demist, the A/C compressor should engage.
@@ScootsMcPoot , I'm 60. Back in the day I thought something was wrong with my car when the A/C pump came on in the winter. This was early 80s. Just putting it out there!

Go Ryan!! Good work as always
Ryan, you should consider switching to clear primer for gutters. You don’t need purple as purple is for inspectors to check the plumbing. Since downspouts aren’t typically tied into a septic or sewer system, you aren’t going to have them inspected. I switched to clear glue and primer for downspouts and its so much cleaner. You also don’t need to slob it on. Its not a pressurized system so minimal glue is necessary. I strictly use the thinner wall “sewer” pipe as its cheaper and does just as well. I also use the matching sewer fittings and it’s significantly cheaper as well. Never had a call back since I switched to it.
Clear primer, sure that is a good idea. Switching to thin wall sewer pipe though especially in cases where it's exposed to the elements from the metal gutter to the point it is barely below grade and being plate-packed is a pathetic swap to save $20 in materials that you can just be charging the customer 1:1 anyway and save a lot of future headache by not cheeping out. In five years that sewer pipe that is going from gutter to your elbow will get shattered by a snowblower or careless snow shovel if someone hits it. Sunlight makes it quite brittle.
