1 Year Timelapse Building Our Custom Home
Timelapse House Build in 20 minutes - 1 Year of Building Custom Home. We started our home building process just one ago and it's incredible to see how far we've come. We've learned many lessons from the beginning to where we are at now. Our home is a 2,800 ranch style home located in Metro-Detroit, Michigan. Our home inspiration was taken from Colorado Mountain Homes.

I just bought your ebook and plans. Thank you so much for sharing such important information in your ebook and the house design is amazing too so thanks for the plan 😊. God Bless your hearts 🙏
Thank you so much for your support, it means the world to us! We are pumped to hear you like the Ebook and Floor Pans, so much love went into those documents ♥️
The only suggestion I have to people is companies will buy your trees from you. They will come in examine the type size and age of the wood and pay you based off that
We did not know that!! Love that idea we will look into that
You r correct I learned u can sell your trees last week.. lol dope!
@@FarisandLisa I use to work for a tree company and I’ve seen people get payed 5k too 350 it’s a great option for both parties
@FarisandLisa my dad made 93,000 from trees approx 20 yrs ago
Yes, my grandparents and great aunt had this done. It was very lucrative and that was some years ago, with the high cost of lumber I can only imagine how much it would pay off now.
This is my first time seeing your channel but watching this video made me happy. I know it’s gonna be so rewarding when the house is finished. I can only imagine how much fun and how happy you guys are building your dream house together.
You guys have covered a lot of ground work! Can’t wait to see the finished work. It’s already beautiful! Loving everything from the exterior masonry to the interior 👏🏽👏🏽
Been watching from the beginning never miss an upload beyond proud of you guys .. watching all the way from Jamaica too
Romario, thank you so much for watching from the very beginning!! We appreciate your support so much ♥️ we are getting so close 😆 Much love to Jamaica 🇯🇲
You guys came a long way and are almost at the finish line 🎉 Can't wait to see it completed 😊 Have a great Sunday!! ❤
We are so close!! Thank you for all your kind words ♥️ hope you have a nice relaxing Sunday!!
Congratulations on the new house 🎉 I'll be starting to build one too!!
The house project is big and awesome with a lot of professionalism. Different worlds we are living in. The amount used for countertops, tiles and septic only can build a very big concrete house here in Kenya.
That is a lot of hard work. The house is beautiful!
Hahah yes it was! Just a little more to go 😆
I'm so excited for you guys! This is so inspiring.
Thank you!! We are getting so close 😆😆
Looks like a great team atmosphere on this site. That's important!
What a wonderful home, love this video❤️
Absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations on your beautiful new home.
Thank you so much! ❤️
This was an excellent video. Thank you for sharing the costs too. 👍
We are in the process of building our own place. We’ve gotten a lot of good information from your journey. Thank you!
Awesome! We are glad we could help :)
Beautiful house !! Congratulations !! 🎉🎈🍾🎊
Looking great 👍 guys. Good work 👏 🙌
Like videos like these. Not boring
Good work for first home build!
Good job and nice teamwork
I absolutely love this house! This might sound weird but i genuinely might use this house as inspiration for a house in Minecraft 😅
What a beautiful Home its a work of Art just gorgeous l can see many happy memories here Cheers from Linda in Australia 😊
Thank you so much 😊
Your timelaps are absolutely adorable! They offer a unique look at the passage of time. I am also trying myself in this direction on my channel. Pleased to share my journey with you! Thanks in advance
This house is beautiful !
Watching like I have not been here since day one. Beautiful.
John we appreciate the love and continued support :)
Nice house Faris & Lisa
What a great looking home!
For people who need land cleared: many companies will come harvest the trees you need cleared and pay you for your trees. Also, for homes using house wrap instead of insulated sheathing with taped seams, use a whole house sealing product like AeroBarrier. Seeing how the walls were stood on the floors and the penetraions in this build, they would benefit from a sealing method as this house will be very leaky as the wood dries, shrinks and settles.
amazing
More people need to do time lapse videos like this on longer projects, it was quite interesting being reminded of things you had to go through in the past that had slipped my mind. Very well done video, although I will admit to being at a total loss of how this channel only has 29k subs... one of the more interesting and informative channels I follow for sure. Keep at it guys, looking amazing.. P.S. - Okay I made the mistake of watching this video this morning while my wife was out shopping, so she insisted we watch again haha. her comments, your tile choices, floors and showers, etc, are amazing, she loves the farmhouse sink look.. and we both agreed at 541k for what you have had done to this point you are doing amazing. Keep at it... 👍
We love making these timelapses because it is so easy to forget all the work that has gone into this project! The stone project in particular cracks us up. Those were some hard days, but we made it! Ok I am totally siding with your wife on this one! I get so mad when Faris watches our shows without me. You're a trooper watching it twice, we appreciate you! I love that you two watch the series together, there are a few couples on KZhead we watch together so we can totally relate! Appreciate all your kind words with our selections, it's so easy to question yourself, but I love when the selections all come together and you can finally see your vision come to life.
@@FarisandLisa It's actually fun watching it twice, there are times I get to comment on what you are about to say. Then I get the evil eye and realize I best watch in peace for fear of spoiling any surprises... but I want to hahaha. Trust me you are always going to question choices, we have actually gone back and changed a couple of things we did the first time around. It's part of reno-life, sometimes we made a mistake, other times we just realize we don't really care for something we picked that at the time looked good. A few things you have done my wife has said, hmmm could we do something like that as well, so thanks very much for keeping me active and in the reno game 😉
Fantastic!
Great home.
Beautiful house ❤
Bet there are some amazing stories behind the people building this.
wonderful house
Looking really good. 👍
Thank you!! ☺️
I’d like to build so this was informational. In a HOA home for about 526 so this is nice to see
Congratulation God bless you
It's so nice guys congrats!!!

Beautiful Home ❤regards from Tokyo ❤
One day we wish to visit Japan! Thanks for the love :)
Good work...
I with to have at least a little house 😢 ... looks beautiful, great job
This was incredibly enjoyable to watch. We're building on 2 acres as well. Looks like you did some of the work yourselves...which we won't have time to do. How much do you think you saved in labor costs (ballpark)?
That’s a good looking house!
Thanks Matt! ❤️
Looks amazing. Love the exterior design! Great job. What has been the most fun part of building and what has been the most tedious part?
Thank you, we appreciate it!! We've been building this house for over a year now and it's been an incredible journey .The best part is being able to create these memories with each other and my dad, who has been helping us along the way. We are so happy to have all of these memories on film so we can look back at them and even show our kids one day. The hardest part is the time consumption, we are trying to do as much of the work as possible but we are not skilled trades which means it takes us a tad longer. We're currently newlyweds living in my rent's basement so we're pretty pumped to make the move. Overall it will all be worth it in the end :)
This was so helpful, thank you!! Doing a great, great job you two.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you :)
I enjoyed watching this process. Is the home now complete?
The location and layout of the house are great. When I compare the timber frame construction methods in the USA with those here in Germany, it looks as if you are building with toothpicks or matchsticks. 😉 I particularly noticed this in the roof construction. I would assume that the thicknesses here are almost twice as thick. And the thickness of the insulation from the basement to the roof is also not comparable. It's really interesting to see how differently things are planned and built. But I'm sure you'll feel absolutely comfortable in your new home.
My house is from 1870, we last got it inspected about 9 years ago…and it’s still going strong. It’s absolutely insane how strong wood houses are if it’s constructed properly.
A boom truck for the footings is wild
And they took the idea or thumbnail from goonzquad house
why?
Love it! What did you use to make your video?
i just subscribed because this channel is amazing and the house is nice
Thanks for subscribing and joining the journey! We appreciate your kind words :)
Yes
Nice.........❤🎉
This was very inspiring. Did you include the basement in your total square footage. Thank you for sharing the process with us. 😊
Hi, the square footage only includes the first floor. :)
holy crap the before and after is insane!!! whats yalls jobs
I followed your progress such a beautiful progress .from Kenya ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! Kenya is a beautiful country ❤️
Semoga tahun ini bisa bangun rumah
As always love From Bangladesh ❤️🇧🇩🇧🇩
♥️♥️ love you guys!!
Nice! What's the sq footage
You cant even build a 2 car garage in Hawaii for that price! Good for you- beautiful home❤
I am form Pakistan.. These kinds of house always fascinating me... Home away from town between tall tree.....love that
Maybe I missed it but can you tell us what is the total square footage of this beautiful house including the basement. BTW did the final number include finishing the basement? Thank you guys.
Thank you for sharing all the pricing
Of course we hope it helps give at least a little nugget of insight for anyone else looking to build or remodel. :)
Beautiful home! Very insightful. How many bedrooms and bathrooms does your home have? Do you have a bonus room or an office included in the square footage?
Thanks so much!! This is a 3 bedroom, 3 full bath house with a separate room for an office!
North Oakland County? Clarkston? awesome build.
This is awesome !! I love to see you guys working so hard to see your dream house come true !!! Congratulations to both of you !!! QQ: I believe the cost $541.55k is excluding labour cost. Please confirm.
Thank you so much, we appreciate your kind words! This includes labor costs so far. We are the general contractor so we are not paying a builders fee! Plumbing, Electrical, and 1/3 of the HVAC have not yet hit the ledger.
Thanx for including prices
Our pleasure 😊
I wanted to see how they installed that water well
we usually don't have this type of machine to dug the ground
I think this may be less than a mile from my house. But I can’t say for sure at the moment. What state is this?
Beautiful house you two ! One ?- the electric cost I thought you mentioned was from the supplier. What was the rough in cost with the panel if you don't mind sharing? Thanks
Hi Mike, Thank you! Our total electrical costs will come to about $19k when finished. The Utility Company in our area is DTE. They come out and hook the house up to the grid, excavate, run the line and add the outside panel for around $1,000. I sure the cost varies depending on the location and utility company.
I'm wondering why instead of wood yaw did not go with concrete blocks , It s more stronger and durable then the wood , considering tornadoes and bad weather's.?But nice house anyway .! ♥️💯
Where did you get your cabinets from!! 14.5k for all those cabinets? I’m looking in the market for cabinets.
I feel like I’ve seen this house before on the market. This is Michigan
This is Michigan! Interesting, it has not been on the market!
Beautiful place which country is this?
The electrician looks like a mad scientist! LOL
Is this 2800 sq ft just the main level? Or does that include the basement as well? Beautiful home. I want to buy your ebook but wanted to make sure on the total sq ft.
Hi Tee, 2,800 sq ft is the main level. The basement would add another 2,800 sq ft. Ours is also set up as a walk out :) Thanks for reaching out.
This house has an inspection?
Hi we are doing the same but a barndominium design by me will share our video soon
There are videos out there on the process start to finish. here is one "1 Year Timelapse Building Our Custom Home". my house is wood with brick exterior and it is 98 years old and solid as a rock.
Cuando lo traduzcan al español entonces me suscribo pq me gustan estos videos
Where are those prices? Here in Massachusetts all those numbers are double sometimes even more
Michigan. Midwest prices :)
How Match is this project
Lovely home… I went to high school with a girl named Lisa Faris… 😅
After excavating SELL YOUR LUMBER! VERY LUCRATIVE! 💯
👍👍👍
More videos highlighting women in construction, please!
I added a small concrete pad to my existing driveway for additional parking and it cost me $2700. That size concrete driveway in Virginia would cost like double what u paid for…
hire mexicans .. always hire mexicans
How was your electricity 1k?
I like to see others working
❤
🥰♥️
That is how you build a house that you plan on keeping forever not the one that you plan on selling in the future
Where yall from to where a 3 acre lot is $63K? 😮 im in the NTX area and a 1 acre lot the average is around $100,000 😭
No insulation for the walls??
👍👍😊
