The Civetta Bolide is renowned as the toughest, most aggressive car in BeamNG.drive. Today, I wrangle it around the legendary Nurburgring Nordschleife to see what lap time this beast can achieve.

Cool series! Also, BeamNG has a feature called "Relative cam", it's a camera mode you can move around and attach to any part of your car, you can make actual dashcams with it. As for the next config, how about the I-Series? Either the Track or the Knallhart configs should do well.
Knallhart brakes fade very quickly.

@@McBeamer94 Tried to make a pikes peak model, high boost destroys it, not even with the usual nitrous It needs a stronger block amd internals for me, so I can do what I want it to do Meanwhile the Bastion makes over 2000hp with the same setup lol
The Bolide is the last car that hasn't received a major overhaul since launch. That's why the car is so unwieldy.
also it's quite disproportionate, like only a person 1 50 meters tall can fit inside lmao. The cars they haven't remastered yet are the Pessima 90s, the pessima 80s, the H series, The T series, The Bolide, The miramar and the Burnside if I remember correctly, but the most dated ones are the 90s Pessima and the bolide
@@fennex7575 no the Pessimas were both reworked to have separate front subframes a couple years back and the T-Series was reworked twice now I think. The Miramar has been updated once but it was pretty early on. The Burnside had a bunch of hot fixes with every update but it was never completely overhauled because it was on par with the current cars in the game.
@@RetroGamerr1991 I was talking about remasters, the cars I listed didn't receive a "remaster", only slight improvements (and the 90s pessima is by far the most dated car)
@@fennex7575 no I know what you mean by a full remaster it would require redoing literally everything. I'm good friends with some of the devs and I can guarantee you 100% the Bolide is the oldest unaltered jbeam. The H series is a close second but it received some enhancements when the D-series was remastered. The only thing keeping the Bolide from shaking like in the pre-alpha videos is the updated tire mesh.

Great idea for a series! It´s amazing to see how quickly beam has matured over the past year or two.
It really has become probably the most dynamic car experience a consumer can buy, and only for 25 bucks (USD).
@@michasmarzewski3670 With frequent updates, I would certainly say it hasn't stalled. RF2 has only one reason to exist, BeamNG is a multi-purpose platform!

@@michasmarzewski3670 Have you played the game? I’ve been playing it for years and itt keeps getting better and better. It also has a very loyal and pretty large community. Also, the steam reviews are “overwhelmingly positive”, so you might confuse it with another game.
Ermin, if you go into the Camera settings in BeamNG, there should be an option to tick which allows you to adjust the seating position in the Driver cam as well as FOV
Would love to see the Burnside Lead Sled config. No grip, no brakes, too much power.

Yeah it comes down to brake and throttle control.
It just doesnt handle bumps very well, which is to be expected. Best driven below the limit
I am so removed from Beam NG that I feel it went from "undriveable" to "contender for the best sim award" overnight. This is in no way a complain BTW.
I have no idea how BeamNG was in its early stages, but I have loved it so much since buying it a few months ago lol
@@josh1234567892 i swear the old beam physics is very inconsistent and unpredictable. The cars would react not in a way you expect, which is very frustrating for the time.

Having picked up beam about a year ago, and AC about 4 months ago. AC just feels so weirdly numb after Beam did its tire overhaul.
Obviously next lap should be in the best car in Beamng. The Pigeon

Personally I dont find this car too hard to drive. Might be the way ive set it up but the slight rotation when keeping slightly smooth just makes it so enjoyable to bomb around a track.

I got just over 9 minutes with the race widgeon on the Nurburgring its a really fun beam car
Nice Video, please update your track version. The creator updated i a lot and fixed the gravel, added PBR grass textures, AI support and improved the performance on the track (FPS).
So, the version of the Bolide you picked was a GT racing version, so I feel like it would only be fair to compare it to non-road-legal Nurburgring records. You beat Jörg Müller's modfied 700 HP BMW M5 F90 run on 2018-08-22 by 01.670 seconds. Honda's 2017-04 Civic Type R (FK8) run by 15.970 seconds. Jaguar's 1991 XJ220 Prototype by 18.170 seconds. Herbert Schürg's modified 606 HP Toyota Supra in 1997 by 21.170 seconds. This places your run 19th overall in non-road-legal runs.
You could try wigeon mantis, it is really hard to control.
A few updates ago I took the Civetta Bolide around the Hirochi raceway, maybe when they updated it, and one of the setups actually drove really nicely. I don't remember which though, and it may have actually been that I made a custom setup that's been deleted by updates since. Since then, the dev team has stated they aren't working on remastering it yet, which is a real shame. It's one of the earliest cars and it's always been a bit suicidal to drive. If they made it at least drivable people might actually use it. As an aside, what's your chair/rig? You've got your shifter mounted up next to the wheel which feels a bit unnatural. I've modeled up a piece of plywood that I can attach where my arm rests go to give it a more natural position.

you would sooo hate my turbo killer config of the bolide, n/a huge racing slicks and so much grip you can control it on keyboard and still be fast
The thing about the Bolide, is it reminds me of the Miura or the 911 Turbo. It looks and sounds so cool, and it is designed to handle well, but they missed the mark a bit and now it feels like it wants to kill you. I hope they don't "fix" it, because it's not broken.

This car responds well to tuning (ctrl+w is the shortcut), aside from that, I find this car undrivable XD

Take the YellowBird, no assists (cause…It didn’t have any) and full bar, as you can lower the boost to make it easier to handle..however instead of GT4, open up AC, for a far-better-run for your insanity. 😃
the yellowbird isn't that diffcult in AC tho. You just have to anticipate a little too much

Nah, if you compare to eg Dirt, visuals and sounds of beam feel low budget indie as fuck.
@@anomyymi0108 Visuals in Dirt feel kinda cartoonish. Same thing with the handling model and the crash model. The sound part might be the only realistic part of Dirt, but I'm not gonna care, since, in comparison, BeamNG even includes dynamic exhaust routing, both in exhaust gases and exhaust sounds. 😜😉🤘👌
@@McBeamer94 The only Dirt game I've played in recent years is Dirt Rally, and it didn't come off as cartoonish to me. Either way, there's no question the graphics and audio are much better. But absolutely, Dirt Rally cannot even be considered a sim, it's just mildly difficult arcade racer.

Was this auto clutch? Would've made it way more fun around there not left-foot-braking with instant kill on rev-mismatch while shifting inside a corner with manual clutch?!
Did you not hear 2nd gear grinding? It's auto clutch lol
@@nikolabozinovski2041 I really doubt auto clutch is active at all. BeamNG's auto clutch assistant hangs the clutch in a bit too long if you try to get on the gas immediately after shifting, revving the engine freely without putting the power down to the drivetrain for a very brief moment. Plus - from what I've experienced with it - the auto clutch never allowed the gears to grind at any point, no matter how quick or aggressive you force them.
Is the reason for the background music during the racing segments just to make the content more appealing, or does adding background music somehow affect the algorithm or something else? Respectfully, I don't understand playing music during the on track racing segments. Particularly corny background music like this. It's like putting ketchup on a steak. Ketchup ruins steak. Only a really bad steak needs ketchup. Racing purists want to hear the car and the track. The first thing we do when we set up a sim is turn off the game music. Who keeps the game music on? Probably the same people putting ketchup on steak.
I've tried hard to love this sim, but I still can't make it drive like any car I've ever driven in any universe and laws of physics that I've ever lived in. I'll keep trying though.
