I like these tours of historical places not only are they informative but as I no longer have transport I can watch and listen from my own armchair , it's a win win for me. 😊
Really glad you like them Noreen 😊
@@goodforthesoul3050Dominic Cummings as well
Thank you for this being as Barney is my old home town,,still have all my family there,,,,,throughly enjoyed this short history lesson 😀
Thank you! That means even more coming from a native! ☺️
in 1977 i used to live in the castle in a caravan was a archaeological dig that doubled as a hippy commune.
My family history goes directly back to here.
It’s a lovely town
Watching from Chelsea, near Boston, Massachusetts, USA
Fascinating, always a dream to travel to England to marvel at castles.
Well until you make it to England keep watching our channel. There will be more castles to come!
A wonderful, informative video. Thanks and best wishes to you both!
Thank you!
This channel is an undiscovered gem. Please keep making videos.
Thank you so much. That is very kind. We intend to continue as long as there are new and undiscovered locations for us to explore.
I like your videos keep it up. I'm from Stafford myself and we have a lovely castle
Thank you. Hopefully we will get to see Stafford soon
You are the only person I know that pronounces the word ‘says’ as it is spelt and not ‘sez’. Thank-you! 🤗🤗
If you're local you may have heard Brackenbury in connection with the Brackenbury scholarship bequests at Kirby Hill Grammar School. Good video. Barney is a very unpretentious town and long may it remain so.
So glad I came across your channel ❤
We are so glad you did as well! ☺️
Once again, thank you for the great video. Slightly different...COOL! 💕💕✊🏽✊🏽
Thanks
Another great piece of film, with very informative commentary.
Great commentary. Thanks from USA......
Thanks for watching ☺️
What a lovely video, love history and ghosts, I’m from Nottinghamshire, it’s lovely to see the person behind the camera , can’t wait for the next one thankyou
Thanks Sue. More history soon!
Another quality video from you both, and thanks for allowing us to put a face to the voices. What an incredible story of one castles history, the love between the two characters you mentioned must’ve been intense, to carry the embalmed heart of her dead husband for the rest of her life is such poetry of life! I’m from Perth Western Australia and can’t get enough of your stories thank you very much. ❤
Thank you so much Kev! Great to hear from Australia!
@@goodforthesoul3050You are forgetting the most recent event of note Dominic Cummings driving during lockdown to Barnard Castle under the justification of testing his eyesight. Cheers from Ireland.

Thank you from stratford upon avon
We visited here today and spent over an hour looking around the castle. I found it interesting that you mentioned ghosts in this video because something seemed to spook our little King Charles cavalier near a old doorway in the wall beneath the wooden bridge. Enjoyed this video and have subscribed. Looking forward to watching more of your videos. From Liverpool here.
Glad you enjoyed the video as well as your visit to Barnard Castle. 😊
I really enjoy this video! I am from Colorado Springs, Colorado, in the U.S.A
We are so glad you enjoyed it

Keep up the videos man
We will Russell
Just enjoyed watching this from Kansas City. I keep a picture of Barnard Castle in my office next to a picture of John Balliol. Why? If my history research has been correct over the years, John Balliol and Devorguilla were my 20th great grandparents. Note my name of McPherson. Those roots go back to Kingussie and the Parson of Kingussie thus Mac Pherson aka Son of the Parson. We have a Clan museum in Newtonmore and our Clan castle is in Baddenoch. Can I claim two castles?
Wow!! What a family history!!

I thought the pilgrimage of grace took place during Henry VIII's reign after he broke with Rome?
It did. As we said. In 1536 Henry VIII was indeed on the throne. The Rising of the North occurred much later when Elizabeth I was reigning monarch.
