In a world where the specter of nuclear war looms large and geopolitical tensions continue to increase, the discourse surrounding nuclear weapons has become increasingly urgent. From calls for disarmament to debates over deterrence, the global community is grappling with complex questions over the role of nuclear arsenals and whether they ensure security or perpetuate risk. China has recently called for nuclear-weapon states to finalize a policy of "no first use" of nuclear weapons. What are the core concepts of the policy? What’s the significance of such a policy for a safer and more stable world against a backdrop of growing uncertainty and conflicts? Will the U.S., Russia and other nuclear powers join China’s efforts on a "no first use" policy?
Guests in this edition of Dialogue are Zhou Bo, senior fellow at the Center for International Security and Strategy at Tsinghua University; Dr. Jan Oberg, director of the Transnational Foundation for Peace & Future Research; and Dr. Alexander Titov, lecturer in Modern European History at Queen's University Belfast.

Precious China. ⚖️
The answer is NO!!! Don't forget Israel is now armed with nuclear weapons. Which agreement has the Israelis not break?
Yes yes press the button for Right .
One panel speakers Dr. Jan Oberg speaks had good laugh at the Obama get "Nobel' prize. I agreed on Dr. Jan thoughts of Nobel prize not about science/creation the change of human life in global sense.
When the US says no first use ! It means ‘SFTL’ strike first talk later 😂😂😂DON’T HOPE that they will stick to SFTL !😂😂😂
Some countries are just too big physically to take down with a few nuclear warheads. But it would trigger a ferocious counter response that would be an existential threat to the aggressor. More so if the counterparties have overwhelming overcapacity & production speed to respond and devastate the aggressor. It's all about money to the aggressor, so it's unlikely that they want to risk being obliterated ... 😅
Dr Jan has the best observation leading to his suggestion of nuclear abolition. But due to a country or so who went back on her words despite an already agreed and signed Agreement, for example - the Minsk Agreement, what hope can the public has when trust no longer maintained and assured?! It's not about being a powerful military country but it's about how humans should control their emotions at a crucial situation! Technology is great if it is use for the benefit of mankind otherwise a negative outcome will be ensured! A well-respected person or group who is able to come out with an answer to save humanity from such a catastrophic outcome should be awarded with a GENUINE Nobel Peace Award!
Good Thumbnail. CGTN is getting better
I am more worried about the West / US than China or Russia regarding who will use Nuclear weapons. The former is so reckless while the latter is the Adults who can control and restrain themselves
Not with one Recalcitrant perpetually reneging agreements it signed and leading others to do the same.
Would USA sign off on the idea: US answer, Fool me once, shame on you (USA). Fool me twice, shame on me
What is the possibility of Israel starting this against Iran, as Pepe Escobar wrote?
It doesn’t matter the US ain’t gonna abide by it anyways
😂😂😂
China has never started any modern wars, whereas u,s amurica west has started all wars, and still doing it to this day
Won't US lie?
I wouldn't recommend China to propose such things🤭..Y soooooo??..If 🇨🇳 is going to make such proposal & succeeded, China would 😤 anger 😡 those warmongering nations on the other's side of Pacific oceans..Therefore, once and for all let have everyone shows their NUKES making the Globes becoming a grand finales fireworks 🎆 once last time before the Earth's Planet becomes history as the 🦕 Dinosaur 🦖 did😂😅
