American punks just never reached the rage of their British counterparts. And I say that cuz I was an American punk in the way back. One of the most eye-opening events of my young life while serving in the Army in the 80's was seeing Killing Joke in Hamburg... Lots of Brits stationed there at the time, and I remembered seeing normally buttoned-down British sergeants [equivalent to US SSG's or SFC's], pillars of Her Majesties Forces, just losing their eff'ing minds and screaming their throats out. Punk, REAL punk, is like the Beatles... a form of rock that spread and influenced the whole world but still remained a curiously British phenomenon.

Possibly the most important rock musical piece of our time, not only did it shake up the limp pop and disco music at the time it also introduced the power chord in a big way, bands like Sabbath and Kiss were using the power chord some years before but the Pistols really brought it into the main part of the songs, rock music totally changed after, groups like Deep Purple, Scorpions and especially Thin Lizzy changed their style from a blues to a more punk feeling, without the Pistols there would have been no iron maiden or def leppard, the sound also influenced American bands such as Motley Crue, Wasp and of course Guns N Roses, of course Im not a punk but I really appreciate what these guys created in terms of a musical sound, it cannot also be underestimated how many people were influenced to pick up a guitar , I still play to this day and I have to say I am totally unfluenced by the Sex Pistols

You know you must have done something right when you release one studio album and 30 years later fans from three different generations attend your reunion concert.
That concert was the very best gig I've ever been to. I was deaf for two days afterwards. Nevermind the Bollocks, see ya later. Fantastic.
Can you just put this under the title "Forever Relevant"
Absolutely
Fuck yeah mate
Bigger than The Beatles.. One Album..x
what a great crowd mix, hippies, crusties, punks, young, old...just magic...for whats its worth, this is one gig i wish i was at.
Exactly my friend, Sex Pistols transcend everything.

Ye I went to this an the 2002 at the palace. Pistols fantastic
I was 15 in 1977 ,they didn't just define my youth, they changed my attitude to the world and life...What a band...
Hello there
4561z my number this was a wake up call
I am a 36-year-old man living in South Korea. Their music was the only way out of my stifling daily life as a teenager.
Hell yeah brother!
Bloody northerners, right?
Has it got better
This makes me happy. I wish for a more flourishing rock and punk scene in SK, I was starving when I was there!
Ditto, K. Ditto! ( I got suspended from my primary school for turning up with ....a pierced ear! I was 10 years old at the time.. Once a rebel; always a rebel.
I was there that very night, didn’t know what to expect, but saw an extraordinarily tight brilliant punk band
3:21 Hearing the intro to Pretty Vacant, live, is one of the Rock Era's finest moments.
Glen, glen
Damn straight!
One of the best drummers out there. People always forget Cookie but he drives the lunacy
Best intro and tune on KZhead. God bless The Sex Pistols. Iconic band. Taught me to rebel, never take no for an answer from the establishment. Never let anyone walk over me, no matter how hard they were. Did me no harm. Now enjoying a successful career! RIP Sid.
did you fall for the authorization cv lies, did you don a mask as you were ordered to? didja get a shot you can't sue for liability if it harms you, a shot which all ingredients haven't been published for the people to see? really am curious. peace
God damn, I'm 50 years old and I still don't think I've heard a better song intro in my life. The guitar and then the drums kicking in still gives me goosebumps...every single time.
Beautiful in its simplicity and balls!
agree agree agree
Pando i
56 years young and I still get them goosebumps when Jones, Matlock and Cook launch into it.... that is until Lydon starts with that PIL voice, worked for PIL John but we miss the Rotton sound js
Ron Dogg So true...on all counts.
Steve Jones just plugs in and cranks his iconic LP Custom to 10 and away we go. Brutal. Tight as, Cookey as always solid on drums and the 'Beatles' loving Matlock tight on bass. Brilliant.
11! He cranks it to 11 for that extra push off the cliff.
@@RaughweWhy doesn't he just make 10 louder 😂😂😂😂
Punks not dead. Punk Rock forever.
The only band that sounds better musically when they are 60 years old.
PIL
Böhse Onkelz
Yes
50 maybe but not 60 - if this was 2007 they would've been in their early 50's at most. Also, check out Richard Thompson a British singer song writer and master guitar player - he's 71 and his last album 13 Rivers was incredible. Check out a track of his from the early 80's called Shoot Out the Lights - the electric guitar playing on that is insane!!
the kings of Punk Rock!!!!
this is one reunion tour that REALLY needs to happen!!
And needs a repeat in 2020 🤘
Is there any chance ???
God please 🔥
Won't happen they hate each well apart from cookie and jonesy always keep in contact but the rest
no sid vicious no sex pistols
Thanks England por darnos el grupo mas revolucionario del rock, saludos desde Argentina.
Sounding so great with Glenn on bass!
People don’t give them the credit as musicians they deserve, brilliant concert
So do you.
Sex Pistols allowed the doors to open up to raw music. Nobody can take that away from them, they shook up squeaky clean manufactured bullshit. The same needs to happen again.
@James Tervit yes! Music definitely needs a reboot!!
Ramones started 2 yrs before the Pistols
@@SuperWorstEver Ramones, much as I liked them back in the day, were not comparable to the Pistols.

The Pistols and Zeppelin, 2 of my favourite bands....But 'Bollocks' is the greatest album ever, by a long shot...
Still one of the greatest intros of all time.

And also because the wokebots hate it because they don’t understand it.

AQUI DO BRASIL REPITO ESSA GUITARRA DE INTRODUÇÃO!
It's amazing how great the Pistols sound when they have an actually competent bass player.
It's attitude in rock and punk, not always ability that wins the day, Sid was a star in his own way,

Loved this since it's release when I was in high school. No gimmicks here and no swindle, this music stands the test of time
You're not left with anything of real value in musical terms without this ground-breaking band
Not too many bands that are living legends. This is one of them.
I remember when the sex pistols first appeared over 40 years ago now ,i was 13 at the time and the buzz they created blew the then british music scene apart .Still gives me that buzz today ,enjoy on here if your not of that generation as back then it was quite something to see .
Gotta say, that guitar is just amazing... Sonically speaking, it is simply wonderful. John's lyrics are just right for it all... Elevates the whole thing. No wonder this song stands up to the test of time. Brilliant!
So proud to be English. Rise up..... One of the very best live gigs on KZhead.
Time to rise up before the venal little grubs in Westminster trash this country any further
Sadly England lost their pride long ago, all is left is that … not today’s music .
That opening rift its like an apocalyptic alarm, warning England to rise up...

This f**cking video was my favorite in the past decade, don't ask me how often I watched it, I think too often, and this video stays my favorite in next decade! Sex pistols for ever! God saves the queen.
From the second Steve digs in its like a delayed fuse you can sense the tension build and then the academy is rocked to its foundations!
Never mind the bollocks is probably the only album that changed music in a big direction all at once , ever! They took everything that was done , threw it in the garbage and made music a fun show again. They even managed to add a little social statement on the mix without being whinie , a true genuine classic
It's the best double ever. Well, on a par with Exile maybe ( fans of mick jagger that white n as Jon snarls at one point). . The song Roadrunner sums it up. Delightful; original; rocking; dizturbing; seems chaotic but it is not. Genius
It was actually their single Anarchy In The UK that really changed music, released in 1976. The whole punk music scene was already well and truly up and running by the time the pistols released their album in late 1977.
My favourite Sex Pistols tune. Great to see Glen Matlock back in the fold! Bloody brilliant...
76 and loving this ..UK
this is one reunion tour that REALLY needs to happen!! indeed
I've never been a punk, but without a doubt: the Sex Pistols are one of the greatest bands ever
Well said mate.
One of the most important bands in the world. Respect.
Damn!, when those drums kick in....
THIS is punk rock at its finest! The way they casually stroll on stage is everything!!
Probably the greatest band & greatest reunion gig of all time. The atmosphere was of the scale.
One of my favorite bands there so good I remember hearing these guys for the first time and just loving the energy and everything about them I wish they would reunite for a tour I would love to see them
wow people in the UK really know the words to the fantastic PistOLs.
oh yeah
Yeah, and we love Roast f**kin Beef on a SunD
2024 The UK needs John Lydon back
Should be played very loud on England's south coast to chase the illegal immigrants back !!!
Listening to Sex Pistols makes you feel alive !!!!
Ha 4 me old crank it up
Punk is my life and has been since 76 , now in my 50s and still listen to it everyday, the Vibrators were my band but I saw the Pistols twice and they blew my mind and when you see stuff like this it just takes me back to the 70s when we had no hassle just music, o and a few fights.
great man your lucky in my country we don't have the Chan's to see punk bands or any rock bands :-(
andrew colley Te envidio !! i have 15 years ! and i love this music.. cuanto hubiera querido ver a los sex pistols en los 70s with sid! but aun tengo la esperanza de ver al vocalista !
vibrators were a great show too

Legends. Lucky people had the chance to see them live. I would have given one of my arms to be there.
I'd give one of my arms to be ambidextrous..
I love it when Steve starts it all off with the first strum of his guitar and the look on his face like hell yeah let’s get this fucking party started. It’s awesome
England means that much to me and I love qe2. No faking, here are the Sex Pistols who gave me the reason to live from back in '79 or so.
Me too so proud to be British
I've played classical piano and organ since I was little. But I recognize real musicians and real music, and the Sex Pistols are awesome!
Wot?

Makes you feel ALIVE !!!
This band will never be repeated. Total genius. Love Sex Pistols and other more modern subversive British acts like Idles, Akala, Kate Tempest, Slaves, Sleaford Mods, Bob Vylan, Allflaws
Changed music forever! 1976 i was 15yrs old and nevermind the bullucks changed me forever...
God damn its good to be alive all these years later!
That is one magic intro, brilliant.
This never gets old.
Yes - they are a fantastic live band . Jones and Cook are the heart. Those gents are just metronomes. With Sid they were lesser, with Matlock (as it should be) they are just wow.
Adore this man! There will never be another Johnny Rotten/Lydon 💛 He is the most authentic, true, upfront, organic human I've ever seen. His story, presence, and music is pure gold! I wish I could just sit & have a lager with him & just chat. He's my dream Uncle! So badass but TOTAL sweetheart!
I went to all five Pistols shows at Brixton...am in the video a couple of times ..I have them 29 times since July 1976
at 53 now i was 12 in 1977 this band and the whole punk movement had a massive impression on me. it blew the whole music industry wide open to new radical ideas which went on to spawn the rivival of ska/ two tone/ new romantics and so on a massive part of my upbringing which i still adore and play to this day so ty the sex pistols ... and pretty vacan,t is still the best intro of all time.
the best ever start to a song in musical history....i hear this and it stops me in my tracks....this is real music ....kids of today listen to this and educate yourself in how music should be played....
Goosebumps Goosebumps Goosebumps all over.
Fabulous! Love the scene, the vibes of the audience, Johnny Rotten, Matlock, and the buzz this generates in my head. Sex Pistols deserve and have the world's most dedicated fans.
Je m'en lasserai jamais.....ces mecs deviennent cent fois meilleurs avec l'âge, du très bon vin.
The Music of Anger...love it. And what have we got today? Fucking Ed Sheeran!
Can't stand the ginger ****.. bring back the 70s & 80s any time
For a small group of young people out there somewhere today there is a fantastic opportunity to grab it all by the balls and shake it up. It's wide open now for them things have gotten so bad..
I am that generation and I am proud of it
Forget the Beatles. This is the most influential band in British history. Period. Love em.
Let's not get carried away
This is THE most intense crowd I have seen for long.....👍🎸
So many scary, scary people in the crowd.
But not one bloody smart phone taking pics.... People gathering for people and power.
And you can guarantee that they're the friendliest people you'll meet

The greatest punk band ever were The Clash. They were the real deal. The Pistols couldn't compete with The Clash.
Anton doesn't change the fact that the Pistols were posers and The Clash were real.
The Damned were better than both!
Don’t forget the Buzzcocks or The Fall!
Heartbreakers were better than the whole lot of "little London boys"
I am an Aussie, I love the English and what they have produced. I finally saw the Sex Pistols in 1996 and took my 15 year old daughter to teach her what 'real' music was like. By the way, she saw Slipknot last weekend, not a bad upbringing I thought. You decide!
awesome, in 96 i was a 4 year old little gal, glad u took ur daughter that time then..i discovered the sex pistols on vh1 classic and i got drawn to it right away !
Somebody's gotta fuckin love them I suppose...
Slipknot is fucking pathetic shit music and pretty fucking far from real music are you mad? And you should of dissuaded her and kicked the fuck into her friends and moved to a different area, the fuck would you want to bring a kid up on Slipknot for? Abuse!
Gotta question.... Slipknot? Hmmm...but you're the dad, so you must have your particular reasons. Definitely Sex Pistols...every kid is gonna need to vent their frustrations and Johnny Rotten and the Pistols are the time-tested ultimate outlet and they are for real...but should be explained to your kid in the context of "the day". I would have thrown in some old school DEVO if she's curious about college or hovering anywhere near an honor role...or not. Anyway, like I said...you are the parent and you've made a good decision exposing your kid to the Sex Pistols...so she'll never be shocked at the appearance of another group again!
Pretty good dad :)
One of the greatest EVER intros in music 🌹
My dad truly is a hero I may only be a ten year old but thanks to my dad I have real music like this In my life
nice dad,nice kid
Your Dad should be proud of you !
im not even English. im Danish... But THIS made me survive my teen-years and still do. Sid Vicious inspired me to grasp the bass and find a band
Great to hear, but Glen is the unsung Pistols' bass man in my view (as in this gig and before, of course) , and maybe yours too?
TF...how Sic can inspire you ? Do you fucking now that Sid didnt even play real on his Bass guitar and was always muted during play? Fuck say how can Sid inspire you on playing bass....
I agree. I fell in love with this band, just a year after they split. (Was 13 years old in 79). Started playing Bass guitar in 81. Glen Matlock was my instant person to relate to. His bass playing, song writing is second to none. I must admit to enjoying reading other fans input... but till anyone becomes a musician themselves... Its just none existant.
get fucked
Me too, fuck yeah
Best song of of the best album ever written!
please, if these guys start a concert again, it would be a Dream 🙌🏻

The coolest/best intro on a concert ever.
You simply had to be there......and I was, me an my son, at the front! Goldie overstayed his welcome on the decks warning up the crowd. If they hadn't opened those stage doors at that moment then the crowd would have ignited!........Tension like you've never felt, before or since! There always be an England....Yes indeed!!!!!!!
