In The Story Of One Sky he composed and sang the whole soundtrack himself. The video shows once again that Dimash is an absolute genius. In composing, in singing but also as an actor and as a storyteller. The powerful message conveyed by this video is more relevant today than ever. I think this video is mostly about the message. This message however, is for the first time more important than his vocal abilities. His voice is just the tool in this video. But simply unbelievable. His singing is indescribable and I don’t have the words to express it adequately. But it is only the mediator of what this video is about. This is so heartbreaking and sad and an awesome masterpiece. Pure goosebumps. You probably have to see it more than once to understand it. He worked on this composition for three years and also wrote the screenplay. The premiere was on September 24, 2022. As some have mentioned, this video should be seen by many people. It may be very brutal for some. But let’s not forget that for many, including children, this is everyday life in some countries. And Dimash relentlessly shows us how ugly war is. OMG he is such a phenomenal actor. Dimash was the little boy who was drowning in the beginning and he gave the necklace to his childhood friend (and future leader) and the girl. The girl on the beach was his future wife. She was pregnant and in the end of the video she gave birth to her and Dimashs' (character) second child. The littel girl who was shot was Dimashs and her first daughter. When he came home and saw his daughter dead on the ground, he had to assume that his wife and unborn child were also killed. Desperation and maybe revenge has led him to kill his former friend. When I first saw the video, I was shocked. I didn't think he was going to shoot his friend. But in the end that all made sense. Dimash wanted to show what revenge can do. Violence always breeds violence, and because of this, not only is the leader dead, but so is Dimash. It was so heartbreaking to see Dimash drown at the end. Dimash in the last sequence of the video was the baby that was born and now as a grown man unites people of different nationalities and religions for peace. In this video you can see how the main religions are represented mostly with his voice. Islam with the type of Arabic melisma (unfortunately I don't know the correct explanation for this type of singing), Buddhism with the monks and the enchanting "Ohm", Judaism with the shofar and the Christian church with the soprano singing, which often can be heard in churches. If you want to know more about this video check out dimashnews. com Btw, Dimash has received an award from Pope Francis personally at The Congress of the Leaders of World and Traditional Religions held in Kazakhstan on September 13, 2022. He performed the song there in connection with the congress before the premiere. Can you imagine, a Muslim receiving an award from the head of the Catholic Church. How wonderful is that🥰. He also gave a speech at the first Central Asian Media Forum, in which he once again strongly advocated peace. Hello guys! Thank you for your sincere reaction! When I first watched this MV, it broke me, I became very emotional, it was heart wrenching, to say the least! 😢 Have you noticed that Dimash is the main solder right from the very beginning of the war scene, when he was walking under the overpass, also when he was shot in the arm, many people miss that? Dimash has worked very hard for 3 years composing the music for this song, and around 20 days to make this MV. It turned out to be his most valuable MV, in the ideological sense, ever made, a real Masterpiece! I believe that Dimash deserves THE NOBEL PEACE PRIZE for his selfless hard work and tireless efforts, not only for this MV, but for trying to bring the world together in love, peace, and harmony and through his many charities. He is a Legend in the making and will go down in History. This is my breakdown of the story, as I see it: This mini movie is full of symbolisms, it's the story of 3 youths, and the necklace which was created by the young Dimash and shared with his friends symbolizing lifelong friendship and unity. The boys both loved the same girl, but she loved Dimash, so the other boy grew resentful over time, started a war, using the symbol of the necklace given to him by his friend Dimash, as the crest on his army uniform. 1) Dimash, was the boy drowning at the beginning and at the end. 2) The Piper, is the one who saved Dimash, became the leader, and was killed by Dimash at the end. 3) The young girl, who died in childbirth, became Dimash’s future wife, had two children together; a daughter who was killed by the Piper's army; and the birth of a son who inherited the necklace from his mother…, they were all affected by the war. “People are the caravan…. Life is the way”: Dimash spoke these words in Kazakh, when he found his daughter dead. For the symbolic aspects, Dimash is showing the different cultures and religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hindi, etc.), through throat singing, which is called the REQUIEM (mass for the souls of the dead), from different religions. The Pilgrim or (Shepard or a Wise Man) at the end of the video was Dimash’s baby boy, born in his image and grows up to guide the Representatives of different religions and race from different Nations to the light, for a new beginning living together in peace, tolerance, love, and harmony. Thank you for the translation of what he says over the body of his daughter- I've really wanted to know what was said. I only disagree with one symbolic thing and that is the baby and the end. I personally think that it is indeed Dimash at the end- there is the suggestion of his wounds by the stain in his chest area on his clothing. For me, I can suspend having logic and see that if he's going to fall from the bullets into the ocean he can also be shown to rise again and perhaps 'in spirit' lead the march toward the light. They should have given that (camera)shot just half of a second more, so it would've been easier for the audience to realize what just happened. But if you look at it multiple times and/or pause at the exact time you will se how she is sitting stiff, greyish and lifeless in the background....💔 And therefore the necklace is given to the newborn then and there. You did get a little turned round by that didn't you guys? Think three time frames, past, present and future. Dimash is the boy who almost drowned, saved by the boy who becomes the general. The girl grows up to become Dimash's wife and the little girl who dies is their daughter. The baby who is born is their son. It helps if you pay close attention to the children in the beginning and watch their body language. The taller boy is trying to hang on to the girl and prevent her going to Dimash's younger self, however she breaks away and runs to him leaving the older boy alone staring out to sea and refusing to take the pendant offered in friendship. In the end all three die, the woman in childbirth so her pendant is given to her son who grows up to lead people of all races and religions towards a better future with unity and understanding.

Dimash dedicate 4 years of his life and money to create this masterpiece, this work released in 2022. He was probably starting to work on it when he was 25. He dedicates this song to the unity of people on our planet.He said" We are all divided into races, nations, and religions, but we are all children of one planet and live under one sky. No sacred book called for the destruction of people, we must learn to be friends, it is impossible for a few adults to cause millions of children to suffer. So many symbols hidden in plain sight throughout the film. The Dears have already commented quite a bit of the storyline. A German Dear figured out the main necklace symbol is a gnomon, the center piece in a sundial which was used by sailors to help with navigation of the seas. The hole in the middle allows light to shine through to mark the time while also showing the latitude. The boy Dimash gives this symbol to each friend as a mark of friendship. The friend who saved Dimash does not put the necklace on but holds it in his hand and crumples it so it is bent out of shape. Signifying the first steps toward going in the wrong direction in life. The friendship symbol becomes twisted on the uniforms as upside down and without the hole in the middle that allows light to shine through which means it can never navigate a true direction. The burning sign on the street is Waldenburg, the WWII last stand of the Nazis that was totally destroyed by US Army bombardments demolishing the town and killing everyone, elderly, women and children in order to kill the Nazis. Signifying that innocents are killed even by the "good guys" in wars. The pilgrims of all religions (Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, Hindus, etc.) are all traveling the steep mountain path toward the same light. Signifying that all strive toward the same goal in life. Some do not make it up the difficult path as one falls by the wayside. Note the pilgrim holding a Koran and also wearing a necklace with a Christian cross. Symbolizes again a common path that each should help share the burden with the other. The heavy storm at the end makes the difficult steep climb worse as Di's character faces his old friend in hatred and revenge for his daughter's death. Symbolizes the struggle trying to stay on the right path but making the wrong choice in shooting his former friend. In the end, Di realizes as he is dying that he strayed away from the light and chooses life with his final screams. His son grows up to help lead the world's different cultures and religions toward the light in peace, tolerance and cooperation. Note the mountain path is still very steep and difficult. Not an easy road but you can see the light in the distance. Many more symbols throughout the film but those are the major ones. Dimash is a genius on more than one level. His symphonic score took 3 years to complete. Dimash wrote the screenplay. Filming took 22 days in Russia in 2022 with a Russian crew (ironic, right?) Then final filming in Kazakhstan before final editing (I believe his Chinese team did the film editing, someone correct me if I am wrong.) Truly an international effort with Dimash masterminding the entire effort.

This was the first time most of us have heard that side of Dimash’s voice, I think he saved that level of emotion for this, so appropriate. Now you guys need to see his live performance of this, so incredibly powerful, not saying that this video didn’t have most of us sobbing, because it definitely did, but Dimash live in his own concert performing his composition for 35,000 people, incomparable, just breathtaking.❤
Dimash was the drowning boy, saved by his taller friend. Both loved the girl, but she chose Dimash, so his friend was angry. They grow up and the friend becomes an evil dictator trying to conquer everyone with war. Dimash and the girl married and had a daughter. His wife is also expecting their son when he goes off to fight against the dictator/his former friend. He makes his way home during the war only to find most everyone dead (minus his wife) including his daughter. His wife is hiding out with some other survivors, about to give birth. We are shown scenes of the future, post-war, where members of all ethnic groups and religions are marching together. They are moving towards the sun, under the one sky we all share. Back to the present time-frame, Dimash’s character finds the dictator/his old friend, and kills him to stop the war. He is in turn killed by the dictator’s men. His life flashes before him as he “drowns,” but he summons up the strength to tell us all to reject war and the men who start them, and to choose life. His wife gives birth to their son, who we see at the end leading everyone on the path to peace and understanding.
Congrats on the reaction! Well, some considerations: (1) Dimash composed the song and participated in the arrangement, in addition to acting in the mini-film. The lyrics of the song and Russian poet Lilia Vinogradova and the video direction by Alina Veripya! (2) The artifact that the boy found in the trunk and that was turned into necklaces is a "gnomon", a needle for a sundial (a rustic device for keeping time); (3) The name "Piper" (piper, or piper) is known as a synonym for "dictator", "despot": This originates from the tale of the "Pied Piper of Hamelin" (folk tale rewritten by the Brothers Grim), where a piper was hired to deal with the rat infestation of the city of Hamelin (Germany, 1284). I agree; Dimash's singing the song in that concert is gut wrenching. His screams at the end of the MV grab us, but in person live we can see him crying out with his soul and every cell in his body. It's powerful and connects to the audience on a visceral level.

Great reaction guys. Our Dimash is very vocal about the futility and human cost of war. He detests war and has stated that wars are always between two people not two nations. He has said that he is 'only a singer' so all he can do is 'use his voice'. This is Dimash's humility and him using his voice. Dimash composed the music and wrote the screen play. This was a project 3 years in the making on and off in-between commitments in many countries and his homeland not to mention his concerts of which there was four in 2022 alone. Dimash premiered The Story of One Sky live at his concert in Almaty, Qazaqstan on the 23rd September and the video released on the 24th. The emotion, heart and soul is real and I believe this was a way for him to vent his frustration at current world events. It’s mostly about life, death and rebirth. Director Alina Veripya is second to none in her field and portrayed everything magnificently. I believe she also directed ‘Okay’ for Dimash which was a great video. The Story of One Sky is an absolute mind blowing masterpiece and deserves unrivalled recognition from all corners of the earth. This makes you sad, cry and smile but leaves you questioning the direction we as a humans are travelling. Dimash promised something epic and that was a colossal understatement. He delivered as always. ♥️❤️💕🕊

Hola chicos. Esta es una obra de arte, tanto lo musical como el cortometraje y la actuación de Dimash. Es un claro y directo mensaje de paz, de que elegimos la vida y no la muerte que es lo que nos trae la guerra y los conflictos, y el no saber llevar nuestras emociones y sentimientos, puede escalar a niveles de violencia como lo vemos acá. Tres niños amigos, la chica está enamorada de uno de los dos, de Dimash, y los 2 de ella. El otro chico no lo maneja bien y ya de adulto se convierte en militar, y aprovecha su posición para vengarse y envia matar a la familia de Dimash, la niña del inicio, que ahora es pareja de Dimash, tienen una niña, la que matan y Dimash encuentra, y la chica está embarazada. Cuando los van a atacar huyen, pero la niña se queda por su peluche y es ahí donde la natan, a su madre se la llevan para protegerla por el niño que va a dar a luz, que es su esperanza. Cuando Dimash ve todo destruido y su hija muerta, piensa que su esposa también lo esta, Pero ella por otro lado va a dar a luz, y muere después del parto. Dimash va a vengarse y mata a su amigo de la infancia , que antes lo salvó de ahogarse, en consecuencia lo matan. El niño que nace es el hijo de Dimash, que se convierte en un hombre que guia a otros al camino de la luz, porque se elige la vida. Porque todos somos hijos de una misma tierra, y vivimos bajo un mismo cielo, por lo que debemos unirnos y buscar el camino, luchar por vivir, en paz Dimash compuso la música de rsta canción, lo cual le llevó 3 años. Fue él quien escribió la historia y el guión del video, y se valio de mostrar lo terrible que es la guerra, para mistrarnos y hacer un llamado acerca de lo necesario que es la paz en el mundo. Y él constantemente da ese mensaje en sus discursis, y conciertos. Pura vida 🇨🇷❤️🇰🇿

This song is a "modern" multicultural interfaith Requiem (the traditional Requiem is a song for the Mass of the Dead in the Catholic Church. The best known requiem is by Mozart I think). The Requiem usually has 2 parts: one mourning death and the other celebrating life. Dimash says in a low voice: Адам керуен, өмір жол. Man is a caravan, life is a road. (Kazakh proverb) So for me, the caravan is his (and our) inner world. Religiosity is in us, the religious man dies when a part of the soldier (Dimash) dies when he finds his daughter dead. So when he seeks revenge, there's a storm. Death follows death: Piper dies but the soldier (Dimash) dies too. Death is not the answer. And so violence is not the way (You can murder the "bad guy" but if everybody thinks that violence is an answer, another "bad guy" will appear for sure.) Hola chicos. Los tres niños son Dimash el niño que se estaba ahogando, y la niña quien se convierte en su esposa que está embarazada y su hija , el amigo que lo salvo de ahogarse es el general. El momento más triste y esperanzador , son los gritos de la vida de su hijo y muerte de su pequeña hijita. Dos hechos que muestran por un lado, el odio y venganza del protagonista Dimash al asesinar al comandante y ex amigo, por otro lado el nacimiento de su hijo que es la esperanza de un futuro mejor, encaminados hacia la luz, las religiones unidas hacia un mismo camino. Esta obra maestra está llena de símbolos . Creo que despues de verla unas 100 veces la estoy entendiendo 😂😂😂 Y probablemente no del todo. Éste vídeo o cortometraje es el más caro hasta hoy en música.
