Most of these large drones are hard to find, so make sure to check ebay and amazon if you want one, since movie studios tend to sell them off for a fraction of their price once filming is complete. Before you fly, make sure you register the drone with the FAA and do your research for any other restrictions.

If you want one of these drones for cheap I'd recommend checking ebay. I got my DJI S800 Evo for 800$ (retail is $11,000!) There;s a slight learning curve, but they're are a lot of fun to fly when you get used to it.
truth! i have a djis1000+ and it takes a lil leaning curve, you need nothing more than just different payload setup and spare parts or 2nd unit. then you are one man army.

@@talibanshia1512 sadly there are no Professional drones that can carry that much weight under 100k(dollars/euros). "SKYF" Russian Drone it is a Cargo drone (can lift up 400 kg) but wont be that "cheap". There are some drones that can lift up to 500 lbs but more likely airframe will collapse on itself, because these are not built with professional components/specs. you should look into fixed wing probably but will be very expencive yet better performance.

Why? A halfway intelligent person can build a drone vastly superior to the foreign dji overpriced trash at a fraction of the cost. The magic is really in the flight controller, you can build a drone out of almost anything as long as you use a good flight controller, AND as long as you build a configuration already supported by your GCS / Configuration software. Tricopter, quads, hexos, Octos....even coaxial Octos with top and bottom motors. If you want to build a non standard configuration, you need to learn a little bit of coding, training for which is easily obtainable also. Of course, like the Lexis (for those that LOVE to pay more for their Toyota), you CAN spend your money on something that doesn't do as well as something you can build yourself.

@@EGreddragon07 Yes but a helicopter can carry more than 2,000 pounds. Most drones like this one can carry a wounded person but we don’t know what it’s limit is. Since it’s a drone it carry only up to 170 pounds of a person or 200 pounds. We don’t know. I heard they have a drone out there that can carry up to 250 pounds which includes a person and its belongings like a bag but that’s it. Also range plays a huge factor since most helicopters can fly up to 2 hours and maybe more if you have a military helicopter, but drones only have a range of 25 minutes to 40 minutes if you are lucky. I’ve never heard a drone running for an hour or more, because they are battery operated. Weather believe it or not plays a huge part too most drones can’t fly in bad weather and you’d be lucky to not fall from the sky at 100 feet above the ground if the drone fails which it most likely will. Drones aren’t mean to carry people and if they make the umm they are not ready yet to take on all the tasks at hand. Just like we don’t have a full autonomous car only a self driven car it makes a huge difference. Some drones are used in Mexico to carry drugs across the border but their limit is usually 60 to pounds. Also planes have been used to traffic almost 2,000+ pounds of cacaine in one go and it’s far better and makes more money than using hundreds if not thousands of drones.

If we can get a drone that can carry 300 lbs and operate for 1 hour and try to keep the price under $10k we wouldnt need flying cars, we would just need a solid harness and people could start flying themselves to work.
Question becomes power vs. duration, especially when it comes to slowing down and stopping, which should consume far more power to do so than level flight. What is ultimately needed market replacement of Lithium batteries, or its reduced usage. Graphite batteries will hit the market soon, which has is already invented. These types of batteries should revolutionize the Drone industry, or any mobile power applications. It should also do the same for static power applications, too!

Shit u can fly from Ohio to WV in like 25 in a helicopter. U wouldn't need a very long flight time to get somewhere when u cut out the road and draw a straight line to everything. But a hr shit yeah that would be excellent..u could have battery stations instead of gas stations where u simply swap your battery for another and keep going again.
That’s the thing you would be cutting out the road but also would other people so it’s be the same as driving so if this did happen it would be considered a luxury to drive instead of fly

Long story short, basically two years ago a totally silent disc-shape glided over me in total silence several 100 feet above me, but was huge. I just watched in awe (and didn't own a smartphone yet). As it went into the distance, the top of it sparkled in the sunlight and it turned and headed toward a local airport. MUFON (what else lol) told me it was a survey drone, but I asked if they actually have access to local radar records (if that even exists)-nope. So I've since looked up largest drones every once in a while and none seem to come close (or as quiet) to what I saw. Wish I knew what it was.

The heavy lifter at the end... I can see the military companies putting together a promotional film showing a fully loaded out soldier hanging under this in an upright position, suspended by a couple of thin cables, being dropped into a deployment directly, instead of riding a helicopter.... then we pull back and see that there are hundreds, or thousands of them all coming down and being dropped off like that. Sounds like the next insane stunt Tom Cruise can do for an upcoming movie.
Cool concept but at that point the number you’d need to achieve that you’d be better off doing a helicopter assault. The only thing I can see along your line of thinking would be more of a stealthy drop of a spec ops team

Even a year ago most of those DJI models were obsolete. M100 and M600, not S100 and S600. And the M600 with the ‘triple redundancy’ is the M600 Pro, the cheaper model referred to is the M600. Anything with a Wookong in it should be retired by now. There would’ve also been many larger platforms than in this list. This was more a walk down DJIs memory lane.
