    • I like this. This is the most fair option. In the meantime if Holloway wins they can do him and Ilia in Spain or the Volk rematch if Holloway loses but Volk needs to take at least 9 months off imo

    • Can I mention here though that Movsar is incredibly inactive. Fights once a year. Veronica says something about him being active, I do not agree. He is not a company man.

    • here's a sensible plan, I'd prefer that over all these younger guys being fast tracked past all the ranked guys. maybe im out of the loop on who evloev's beat but he needs to take out one of the top ranked guys who's in their prime that's just how it works.

  • Yair is only 30 and has stayed relatively active. In terms of standup prowess, Yair and Holloway are both super fun matchups for Ilia, no doubt. Also, if you're considering marketability for Ilias future, im not sure why O'Malley, with a win over Chito, isnt talked about at all. Its a big fight and Ilias likely to win, making his name even bigger. Thus giving enough time by then for Volk to be in a healthy enough condition to get his rematch in Spain. That would be dope.

  • I hope Kattar wins against Aljo. Because I honestly think Topuria vs. Kattar could be the best and most interesting fight in the division - nevermind the Emmett "loss", I'd pay a lot of money to see Ilia's boxing square up against Calvin's.

  • You never unify a BMF the BMF has to be earned by being a long-term badass that takes anyone anywhere. It does not get put on the line when the ultimate prize is there!

  • I get the point you're making about a revolving door of the same fighters at the top, but at the same time that's the process. You have to beat someone near the very top of the division to prove you're worthy to challenge the champ. If you can't do that then you don't deserve to fight for the belt.

    • Agreed but Ortegas been in the top 5 forever and his last win was in 2020 against Korean Zombie who respectfully was past his prime. He got two title shots and got dominated. Yair is also 2-2 and got a title shot already and dominated. He needs to do more work to get another shot.

  • It's amazing how Ilia Topuria's journey is similar, in a way, to Islam Makhachev's. Not because of their styles, just because after they got the belt some people felt they shouldn't fight top 3 contenders and give newcomers the opportunity for the title.

    • I was saying before the fight that this has Oliveira Islam energy all over again, that being said I trusted my gut, again, and wrongly picked my fan favourite, Alex. Ilia just went from a (?) to a fighter who I can’t see anyone beating, just like Islam did at UFC 280

    • @@t0p-D yeah, same here. I think I also underestimated Josh Emmet's fight. The way Topuria moves away from punches is amazing. He didn't receive any full punch from Volk at all, and that's impressive. The way he does it, it makes it look like if he were a deer jumping back and forth.

  • Маx should win BMF belt and Max vs. Ilia in August will be great. Also, Evloev vs Volk for a contender fight. For both it's good. Volk with low risks can prove he's back. And Evloev can finally get a deserved title shot.

  • The Gaethje vs Holloway fight makes absolutely no sense anymore. Gaethje should be fighting Islam after ramadan and Max needs to fight Ilia ASAP.

  • Rodriges got the title shot by the accident and he got smashed by Volk, he should not be in the line for the title shot for a long time. What would make the most sense is Volk and Movsar to have a fight and then Topuria gives the winner of that fight a title shot.

  • The real pickle we're in is Ilia has tossed out the idea of fighting top ranked guys that volk already beat which yes on some level i get it simply due to how dominant volk was against those guys. But the only opponent he HAS said he wants is Macgregor 🤦‍♂️. He doesnt have anyone else on the list but ol conor. And I'm sure it'll be fun but it won't be at 145. So if he's gonna move up might as well fight a ranked lightweight or challenge for the belt to be 2x champ. But no callout to Islam, Gaethje, Charles? Those guys are in shape & would look much better on Ilia's resume than washed conor. Nonody really counts that fight between Adesanya & Anderson Silva last i checked lol.

  • Yair don't stand a chance. Jai Herbert had 8inch advantage over Torpuria. He came close but we seen what happen to him. Yair leaves too many openings. I don't see anyone that can fast counter Torpurias right hand with power in the pocket. Styles make fights but I don't see anyone trading with torpuria in that division.

  • I don't understand how in 2024, all mma fighters aren't embracing kayfabe full time : Evloev is the new Belal, he's never gonna see the belt. Look at Chandler going full wwe... He gets it. The topuria's, O'Malleys, Adesanya's, Stricklands, Covingtons: they nail it. This is not a sport.

  • I don't think Holloway beats Gaethje ... But if he does he should take the BMF belt to FW it makes sense! It was at WW now LW lets see it at FW I say! And make that wonderful strikers delight! Max Vs Ilia with two belts on the line would be unheard of! Evloev should fight Volk next IMO I think that Gaethje will win BMF and either start calling out McGregor which could actually entice him back more so than Chandler has or Ilia moves up to fight for the BMF ... Also to call out McGregor again. I believe Charles will get the Dub against Arman and get the rematch with Islam whether he likes it or not! P.S Ilia's first defense should be against Holloway FR! & O'Malley plays with him over 3 rounds and TKO's him late

  • If Max wins and doesn't get too beat up i would love to see him against Topuria, but since i feel that is not going to happen, Hopefully yayir wins and Evoloev fights volk. After Ilia fights yayir, he can wait for the volk vs evoloev winner.

  • Volk needs to rest but should get the shot on his return. In the meantime it should be Max, who is more active than guys like Ortega and Yair. And Ortega is soooo inactive with multiple losses in his few appearances. Merab needs his shot before anything else happens at Bamtamweight.

  • I dont get sean o'malley sometimes he does things that dont really sound honest. Like he clearly said when asked about going up to 145 that he doesn't want to fight volkanovski and was clearly saying that he respects Alex's calibre and is aware of the threat that volk is almost admitting that he knows it wouldn't be good for him and this was after that super competitive first fight against Islam mackhacehv.

  • Ilia should fight a non-title fight w Rafa Fiziev at 155 in prep for a fight w Islam, If he could beat Rafa he could get that super-fight. I think Rafa would beat Gaethje, if they fought again. He would check kicks better. Ilia v Rafa would be a banger.
