A hero's welcome for the remains of 20-year-old Marine Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz. Schmitz's remains were brought to Baue Funeral Home near I-70 and Cave Springs after arriving at Lambert Airport.

And not to take away from the great ultimate sacrifices made by these fallen soldiers but as touching as it is, it seems that you have to be a fallen soldier to get respect here. Those who fought and survived are often disregarded and forgotten. Makes it seem like it is a sin to survive deployment. He was smiling at a little Afghan girl waiting near the gate with her parents for a chance to go to America. He said, “Friend?” These young soldiers were like babes. Having just arrived, they were innocent. You should read a little book called “The Screwtape Letters” by C.S. Lewis. WION had an interview with a young Afghan woman speaking from Melbourne and Ms Wahidi was describing how great life had been before the Taliban returned. In one month, heaven had turned to hell. On CNN there was a report about a You Tuber. You see a video of her and two friends, all dressed discreetly but in bright colors, laughing. Then you see a video of the You Tuber, a lovely young Afghan woman now dressed in black and struggling to hold back the tears. She was outside the gate hoping to get on one of those flights when the bomb exploded.
