From funny to whimsical, then fiercely violent, to scary, to horrific, to absolutely hilarious and sudden Lynchian surrealism....At no point does anything draw you out of how compelling it is. @raymondsims7042@raymondsims7042 Жыл бұрын
    • @Raymond Sims breaking bad just doesn't hold a candle to the sopranos. You can't rewatch it and find something new. The Sopranos is layered and explores very complex themes about the human condition. Breaking Bad is simply about a man who wants to prove his manhood to his family and regain some form of dignity but creates an alter-ego in Eisenberg. It doesn't go further than that. The sopranos is about Tony trying to find his way out of that darkness in order to keep his family. But as the show continues, he falls further and further into that darkness, and in the meantime, we are wondering along with Tony why. The show never gives you a way out. It just puts you in there and you have to find your own way out of it. There's just no comparison. The Sopranos is so much better.

      @Josama0214@Josama0214 Жыл бұрын
    • @Bleach sure. It's deeper than that. But that's the gist. It's what John Truby calls the designing principle. Every story has a designing principle. And what I am saying is that The Sopranos indulges in this regard. It's such a lush story that it's incomparable to even suggest Breaking Bad is in the same level of storytelling. In areas where Breaking Bad excels is in the beats. I've watched both of these series twice, and from my second viewing of Breaking Bad, I remember how well it engages the viewer in every plot twist. This is its bread and butter and where most people rely to argue that it is a better show. Most people hardly ever delve into its subtext and internal story because Breaking Bad didn't have some sort of ax to grind, at least not the way Sopranos did. Funny enough, it was my second viewing of the sopranos that inspired me to watch Breaking Bad again.

  • I am a longtime fan of this show and feel I know it well; you have managed, in one video, to show me a world within the show I feel like I never saw. I mean it as a compliment--there are scenes here I feel like I never saw! Great video...
