  • As a climber, this is a bad idea, and I think I have gotten golfer's / climber's elbow just from watching the day 1 part of the video 😄 Your muscles can strengthen and recouperate MUCH faster than your tendons can, so you run a serious risk of blowing a tendon. I get that these challenges are extremely ambitious for the views, but anybody watching and thinking about taking this on, please pace yourself a bit more than these guys. Personally I'd recommend a) a lot more rest, and b) not just focusing on getting to 100 every day, but instead incorporate other strategies like dead-hangs, inverted rows, weighted pull ups (with less reps), or explosive pull ups (same).

    @DerekHardwick@DerekHardwick Жыл бұрын
    • You are absolutely correct! If a tendon behaves like a dropped soda then he can't workout so I agree 1000 with you Derek... Pacing is much better and you can't stress the hanging enough lol very interesting.

  • I found this channel a month ago, when I was really concerned about my weight. I was about 300lbs and honestly......I was hating myself. I new that I needed to diet and even workout, but I'll be honest, the hardest part of all of it is keeping up the motivation. Then while researching how to do exercises correctly, I was recommended one your videos. I believe it was the 100 push ups for 30 days challenge. It was incredible. Ever since then I have been watching your videos almost daily. Whenever I feel like I can't do a workout, I just turn one on to give me motivation and I've kept going. I've managed to shave off almost 30lbs since then and though that's from my own effort....I just want to thank everyone from the Browney channel for being so amazing.

  • Thinking about it, Jorg is crazy strong. I'm a noob when it comes to excersising. I only recently did my first pullup ever. I'm lean, but my back and shoulders are weaker than the rest so my max pullup is at 6 right now. I get Jorg probably had a much higher rep max when he was lighter, but given he was about 15kg heavier than the competition, it's like he did this whole challenge with a substantial weight vest. The extreme soreness he had on day 2-5 came from overwork, so did his scar (stretchmark from the muscle being pumped to the extreme) Jorg cutting his 100 pullup time in half after just 30 days is seriously impressive. He didn't seem as knocked out afterwards as he did on day 1 either. I wonder how his muscle soreness was on day 31 compared to day 2? Seriously Jorg is a king, him being down on himself shows he's a prideful, tough, and gutsy guy, with the ability to change if he wants to. Love the video as always, if I could be a bit of an annoyance: It's be incredible when doing these kinds of challenges if you could dedicate some time in the beginning of the video to adress proper form, and variations (easier/harder), so that your subscribers feel like they have a way to join in and do the challenge themselves. Thanks again for the fun watch, and credit to all three of them for giving the challenge their blood sweat and tears.

  • I have done 100 pull ups a day for 30 days in the past with the grease the groove method. Basically I did 5 pull ups every 30 min for 10 hours during the day. At the end I didn't increase my max pull up but I became really good at doing 5 pull ups any time of the day, and your body adapt and you get less sore from pull ups.

  • 32F here from Australia. You guys have inspired me to start my weight loss, fitness journey! I put on a lot of weight when I suffered from chronic fatigue for five years after a serious illness since I physically did not have the energy to exercise and was eating a lot to make up for feeling constantly tired. I thankfully am not chronic fatigued anymore but since I quit my job and have gone back to university for my masters I am determined to turn my life around. Thanks for the inspiration!

    • Hey, I’ve had chronic fatigue for the last few years. Was there anything in particular help you recover outside of the usual water, sleep and light exercise? I got sick right near the end of high school and it’s been extremely frustrating to have my life halted so suddenly and thoroughly… I’m sure you can relate 😂. Glad you’re feeling better these days and hope I can follow you in that regard.

  • I got a pull up bar a few months ago. My starting max was only 4. Instead of setting a fixed count goal, I just did a couple pull ups every time I walked past the bar (set up in my bedroom door) And now I've managed to get my max up to 20. Or a 1 rep max with 85 pounds of extra weight. Just doing SOME pull ups every day gets gains. Stay consistent

  • Props to all of them! I did a similar challenge, which was 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 squats, and a 1 mile run daily for a month and I got noticeably bigger and stronger. I think the main thing though is practicing good, controlled form. I noticed kipping during pullups and that can really kill gains. I get they wanted to bust them out really fast though. But I also think it's important to stay strict and focus on getting those quality reps in for the true gains.

I remember I got the exact same thing and I thought I could just endure through it and kept working out on it, and my elbow got so bad I couldn’t open it past 45 degrees for like a week. It sucks to start a challenge with an injury, but I’m glad you let yourself recover.
