Australian greyhound racing takes place across all six states but is most prominent in New South Wales where over half the tracks are based including Wentworth Park in Sydney home of the world’s richest race, the Million Dollar Chase. The race of Australia Champions is a greyhound racing competition held annually.

A provincial maiden race at Mandurah is about as far away as you can get from an Australian Champion greyhound race.
Nah, that race probably had at least $1000 prize money, I think those English races i see every day, where the winner gets £20 (same as the last dog, I believe) and about 10,000 miles from Sydney and Melb
Hi punter How are you doing??
What a rush. I post videos of dogs racing in flyball but it’s a totally different rush.
I agree! Greyhound racing provides such an exhilarating experience. Dogs racing in flyball, you're right - it's a completely unique kind of thrill. The speed and agility of these animals in different races are truly impressive!

Yeah, you wouldn't destroy your dog if it got injured, and your dog doesn't live in a wooden box or a cage when it's not making money.
Awesome puppies
It's wonderful to see greyhounds doing the thing that they love the best: RACING! They are very fortunate to have the opportunity to do this.
I couldn't agree more! Greyhounds are born to run, and witnessing them in action is truly exhilarating. Providing them the opportunity to indulge in their natural instinct for racing is not just a sport but a celebration of their innate abilities. It's heartening to see them doing what they love and enjoying every moment of it!

@@familypirie1984 The dogs in this video actually look quite happy and well taken care of. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying not all of greyhound racing is abusive if it's done right. Same goes for horse racing. Bullfighting on the other hand, sure, that's a whole different matter.

@@jonahshank8900 Welcome to the Club! 💪😀👍
I am 48 years old and just stared thinking “what happens when the race is over, how do they get the dogs?” Just today!!!
It's great that you're curious about what happens to the dogs after the race! After the race is over, the handlers or trainers are present at the finish line to catch the dogs as they cross it. They use various methods, such as calling the dogs or using treats or toys to encourage them to come to them. Once caught, the dogs are leashed and taken care of by their handlers. They are then given a cool-down period, where they are walked around and allowed to relax before being returned to their kennels or crates. The well-being and safety of the dogs are always a top priority in these races.
What if the dog runs off course or can’t be caught because of their fast running?
The owners wait for the dogs at the finish line and collect their dogs there.
They let them into a holding yard with live piglets to catch them 😂😂

Consider getting involved with adopting a greyhound when his racing days are over. There is a real need for this. These are amazing dogs just looking for a loving home. They are so very easy to love and are a wonderful addition to any home. I have had 3 and they are beautiful creatures.

My gramma had a retired one from the race tracks in Tijuana. It was the only one that could catch and kill cats. I guess the like chasing things.
It's fascinating how these retired racing greyhounds still retain their hunting instincts. Thank you for sharing your grandmother's experience with one of these remarkable dogs.

@@HugoMinnett They were bred to race. There are people who abuse them after they stop, but racing dogs are kept very well because they have to be, and ethical racers then retire them as pets.
@@Dakotathecoyotetherian Greyhounds ARE being greyhounds when they race. They love to run whether it's on a track or on the beach or in a field. They don't know they're racing; they just know they're running to try and catch the lure 1st. It's what they love to do. They get the best care and plenty of love.
Greyhounds love racing so it's okay to exploit them! (sounds a lot like pitbulls love to fight, so their injuries and lives lost are fine. After all, they love it!). Dw about me though, I'm just ignorant. Dog racing is a clean industry where all the dogs have fabulous lives and all of them go on to be adopted by loving owners.
I hear you. Let's make sure the dogs are treated well during races.
Has there been any cases that dog racing are detrimental for the dogs health? Idk man, it just looked like a fun excercise for the dogs on my end. In any case, I don't believe you should have a pet if you won't raise them well either.

Close up the tracks.Find another way to pad your pockets without using Gods creatures
Can you say why?
@@wjjanshsbaan8599 mmmmellllllllllll
@Greer Hunter Racing owners do pad their pockets in other ways. They all have JOBS. It is quite expensive to own a racing greyhound. Any money won goes right back into their care. If owners didn't have other jobs, there would be no way they could afford a racer. There is nothing wrong with greyhound racing. The greyhounds love to race, they get the best care and love.
