The 3rd running dog for the aces is incredibly under valued. He changed the course of the competition each time he ran. He also seemed as though he had the most fun as well!

Border Collies are my absolute favorite breed of dog, like ever...period! BUT ain't no way in hell a team full of mainly border collies is going to come close to beating a team full of whippets, just no way
True, I'm a collie fan and owner. My pup is faster, than any other dogs at the doggy park apart from whippets :) she loves them, but does not run with them :) .

Don't forget Greyhounds. Greyhounds are the fastest dog breed in the world(Greyhounds are also in the top 10 of fastest land animals in the world ranked #8). A Greyhound's top speed is 45 mph/72 km and a border collie top speed is 30-35 mph.
I've never seen this before, but for some reason it come up in my suggested videos. I'm glad it did. I was absolutely captivated. What a final. I'm a sports nut, but this is as good as anything I've ever seen

andyjg13 training a whippet is difficult and they aren’t intelligent dogs like the border collie or the poodle , that’s why ppl don’t have many whippets on their team .... the chances of things going wrong is high !!! So u got to appreciate the talent and hard work that went into building the team

Not whippets, they’re lurchers. The announcer states that. Lurchers are a crossbred with sight hound (greyhound, whippets, etc) and a terrier, border collie, or even bull bred. Most are multi generation crosses but the sight hound always is the dominant cross

@@supertjss1328 I see it this way as well. Seems the 3rd focus dog (didn't catch the name) is just not as quick as Nova, Hustle and Panic. So Nova looks like a race car next to a bus, while Hustle and Panic are two bullets side by side.
The announcer guy talked about the third dog being phenomenal for doing it in 3.81 seconds. Why so sad?

Most if these dogs live in dog training facilities.

You would be surprised. Dogs allowed to play and roam learn the difference between indoor and outdoor and many will see no need to running around indoors.

I love the way the handlers show each individual dog where they're going before the race!
I think they do that to get their adrenaline rushing and to hype them up more for faster speed
Watching these dogs and their pure joy of running AS FAST AS THEY CAN to get the ball makes me happy when eclipsed with depression. Dogs are such a gift.

To put the speed of those dogs into perspective... 300ths of a second is counted in Formula 1. Brilliant dogs. Utterly fantastic!
🤣🤣 I understand but not like that. If let say we both race turtles they can still clock 300th of a second if they both cross line really close. Not necessarily it has to be fast

Those border collies where going against lurchers that were part border Collie. If they where pure whippet they would have no chance against pure border collies! Mixed breeds are the best at sled dog races too. It’s all about genetic variation.

Faith Killick Border collies have different characteristics than other breeds. They would rather play or work than eat. They don’t get tired as fast as other dogs. They can stop and go on a dime. They reach top speed faster than other breeds. they look at you for direction and at the same time are so much more focused than any other breeds. Breeds in the competitive sight hound racing industry have unusual characteristics as well...Whippets produce very low myostatin hormone levels. In layman’s terms that means they grow big strong muscles. Whippets have arched back’s that are very flexible. Also whippets have large lung and heart capacity. So on a straight away with no twists and turns the sight hound breeds are the fastest by a mile. At the end of the day when you mix these great breeds together you get heterosis. because they’ve had a completely different ancestors and abilities for hundreds of years. That just means crossbreed vigor. I think most people think when you crossbreed a dog you get half the ability of each dog. That is actually not true most of the time. In actually fact these dogs will be stronger healthier more athletic and smarter. It’s almost like the whippet/border collies are 75%whippet and 75% border collie. Which is perfect for fly ball lure coursing and agility:)

They should start a competition where the handlers have to sprint alongside their dogs, I would let them off having to carry a ball in their mouths. Would help the nation’s lack of fitness.

that tie was pretty epic. it'd be awesome if they could MotoGP or F1-type timing and graphics for the dogs where we could see timing splits on screen and the dog's names, etc. !!!

The amount of serotonin I get from watching dogs do anything is unreal. I didn't even know this sport existed, but watching the huge excitement in their big round sparkly eyes is the best feeling.
Looking at these videos when I have exams tomorrow make me less tensed. What a lovely creatures they are🥰

I could watch dogs do flyball for hours! I saw a video the other day of a flyball match and there was this jack russell that flew over those hurdles like they didn't even exist. I'm always so impressed with whippets and how insanely muscular they are. Absolutely amazing!

Hustle and Shoots! So happy to see them back and win this one with the Aces after 2017 not quite making it. Although all the dogs on both teams were amazing! What a race! Can’t wait already for next year - and I do hope that they consider incorporating the speeds and names of all the dogs from the quarter finals on up as they race in the future as others have also suggested.
