Tyla bothering no one but just doing what she loves which is singing and dancing. You just gotta love her
Yes...but between the Nigerians and some Black people in America they praying for Tyla to fail. Sad.

No lip sync. 100% live vocals for her first performance of this song. She even did the chorus, amazing.
There is clear and obvious lip sync. Coming from a 30 year veteran of the music industry.
Yall cant really differentiate live and lip sync anymore?? 😂
She's clearly lip syncing. Don't make your fandom blind you
@@jean-pierre5221Can you point out the indications that she is lip syncing coz to me she sounds very much live here
@@jean-pierre5221 I heard the original song this is definitely the live version it didn't have that much dragged notes and reverb in the verses that's differently live.

@jessicawallisNZ92 For real :D
My homey❤
She’s gorgeous too .
Like For real tho!!! She bout to blow all the way up!!! Wait til this 2nd album.
One thing about Tyla. She will sing and throw lil South African Easter eggs. What did Sbuda do in the intro? 😂😂😂This. My queen is not resting. Yaaasss mama.
Sbuda is the guy who turns on the power after load shedding 😂😂
Who’s Sbuda
@@thembelihlemnguni7632what is he saying and in what language?
@@DionneEguono Zulu language ,the other guy is telling Sbuda it is knocking off time so he has to switch off the lights .In SA we experience scheduled powercuts so i think this is a reference to it .Sbuda is the one switching off the lights i presume
@@DionneEguono Someone off camera is speaking to him in Zulu. I can't hear it through the applause properly but what I can make out is something like "Yo, Sbuda. Hurry up, we've already left. Let's go!". Sbuda, on screen, then goes to turn the electricity off. This is significant for South African viewers who've experienced rolling blackouts that we call Load Shedding as the 'load' of our power is 'shed' to elevate our power stations' grids while government works on fishing the new ones that will more sustainable power us without fear of malfunction. (Edit: It has just been revealed that Tyla’s stylist and BFF, Thato, provides the spoken Zulu line that was recorded and pitched down. It goes: “Awu Sbuda. Manje ses’ phumile, ses’ klokile. K’tshayile! Asambe”. Which in English is: “Yo Shuda. We’ve already left, we’ve already clocked out (of work). It’s over [as in the work day, the situation or whatever you wish to expressed is done]. Let’s go!” A little extra context: A new phone call or conversation [as this could be a voice note] like this would most probably have been taken place on a Friday at the end of a work day with everyone at work most likely heading out into the weekend. Weekends and holidays are a very vibrant time in South Africa, more in particular Johannesburg where Tyla is from. So if somebody gotta tell you to hurry up before you are totally left behind, In this case to the PARTY that is TYLA, then you better HURRY! 💃🏽 Edited of the Edit: Thato also reported directed this stellar performance ✨
This is the reason she won Grammy Best African Music Performance, she is a great performer on stage
Chill. Davido or Burna deserved it wayy more but she will have a wider audience.
@@nifapz9596Neither of them have a song that is STILL being played all over the WORLD like Tyla’s.
Love you your songs I love that your dance and style. From India
Definately! To me she is beautiful, classy, elegant, sexy, can really good sing and moves her body better than any other female singer I know. She's just complete. @Tyla You as an artist are a true MASTERPIECE :D Wish you all the best ♥
@@StellarFaerieYou think that only when something is played in the US it is considered all over the world. No one in Africa is playing or jamming to Art like they are jamming to Davidio and Buna Boy songs. Even in Europe, people are moving away from RnB and opting more for Afrobeat. Tyler does more of RnB which pleases the American audience, which was the main reason she got the award. They awarded RnB over Afrobeat; they didn't award Tyler. Moreover, all she's got is water, and water is dying away already. Her debut album sucks, and the biggest track "Art" in the album is not doing good. We don't even hear it here in the US. But I still hear water sometimes. Buna Boy and Davido have huge advantage over Tyler because they have huge African base fans. Tyler doesn't because all she cares about is to please the American audience, and this will hurt her soon. Africans are jamming to afrobeat like Buna Boy and Davido songs, then we try to push it to the world to expose and display our culture. But Tyler barely promotes anything African or South African; she does more of RnB to please and promote American culture. She's not really breaking any barriers like Davido and Buna Boy. The difference is clear.
Tygers stand UP!!🐅🐾🐾

People really don’t understand singing live can be difficult. She did the damn thing. Go TYLA! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I mean, that’s how the real artists used to perform back in the day. Imagine artists from the 70s, 80s, 90s moving around on stage and singing live. It’s refreshing to see someone singing live but it’s shown how downhill musical performances have gone.
@@viciousLUAPrecisely! There is no difference in vocal performance from now to then. Some techniques have probably changed based on style; however, the essence of stage performance hasn’t changed. Looking back on Aretha, Patti, Gladys, Luther, Whitney-they were defining artists because of their talent and consistent use of their natural abilities. Today, especially in pop and R&B, you see a heavy reliance on assisted audio. I understand some performances need it for effect; however, some artists of today base their whole career on it. The OP said singing live can be hard. That’s not a profound statement because if you are to be a singer, that’s business as usual. You train to overcome the challenges so your performance is great. There are still singers who don’t rely on it today who I think are awesome (Yebba, Tori Kelly, Chloe, Halle, JoJo, FLO) and have stated their inspiration comes from the aforementioned singers. Nonetheless, I appreciate Tyla and her team bridging Amapiano to the US mainstream music culture.
But also she should be singing live
It's not difficult if you can actually sing! 🙂
People talk about live singing these days like it's manual labor. It's not That difficult. We all sing live in our homes lol. If someone sounds weak live, it's because they have a weak voice, period. What she did here isn't a major feat, and she didn't have some major obstacle to overcome on stage. She just isn't a powerful singer, and that's okay sometimes for entertainment. But people these days exaggerate like these artists are singing opera, just because "the mic is on". Well duh, I would hope so with average vocals like this.
As a Nigerian, i will drop every malice and say this with my full chest Tyla is a good singer and performa, she really deserve the grammy she got, all her music have a solid meaning, go girl, am a proud Africa
Is your full chest in Nigeria.??
So is she Nigerian or American

@@ZootZinBootZ Yes she is, from Johannesburg.
@@MoeratR123 thank you , im in Australia and was unsure weather the music category was americans appropriation of an African country 😆because all the comments just say Africa or African, it's a continent and has many different cultures and people of different nationalities, so as the recognition was really important. South Africa 🇿🇦 ♥️
@@ZootZinBootZ Yes, this genre of music is called Amapiano and is native to South Africa only. 😊 It is the underlying tone for most of Tyla's music.
@@MoeratR123 thank you so much. That's informative and important. I love music knowledge. Sure I could have googled it , but this is the source, the people are the voice. I really appreciate your answers to me - thank you again. In Australia the aboriginal people have an intrinsically music based language system that comes with thousands of years of shared sounds being handed down , with voice. No writen communication for songs. Its a history still going today - its called Song Lines and the sound a tribal group make are different in different regions like the uniquely formed cultural groups of African people are. Borders didn't exist , land divides and Song Lines did. Same in New Guinea , pacific Island nations and the indigenous native American and Aztec foundations of civilisations were all chanted , danced and held sacred to link ancestors and future generations into their lineage from befor , to now and into the future. Music is si powerful it can start wars & end wars with the right cry to action or call to peace. May music fill your day. Thank you.

Many people saying she’s lip syncing. It’s called a guide track & backing vocals (I’m a singer in theatre for 13 years). She is definitely singing “live” as I heard 1 or two flat notes but overall she was great nonetheless. Fact remains, she is talented whether you think she’s lip syncing or not. It doesn’t discredit where she’s at & what she’s achieved.
she definetly used a track at some parts which is pretty standard and recommended
