As a college freshman, I have genuinely seen a surprising number of people using an iPad and keyboard to take notes. I mean, I guess it kind of makes sense if you already have an iPad and don't want to spend too much more money on a midrange to high end laptop, but I had NEVER seen anyone do that before in my life.
I got an iPad for drawing as I’m into digital art but I thought using it for notes would be nice, it was bought for both reasons. Buying it just for notes is a bit expensive though however.
i got it for notes but hated doing it, so now i only use it for textbooks

laptops do not require the display panel to function, usually.
@@aquaponieee i used a laptop with a broken screen for 6 months. nothing like a 5 dollar hdmi cable and a spare tv from 2008(which is part of my "gaming" setup)
@@rayhanrizvi334 yeah my point is you could completely remove the top part of the clamshell and the laptop would continue to function normally because the top panel only contains the display (my emachines e720 also put the WiFi antenna in it but I'm not sure if that's the case with newer machines)
@@aquaponieee for computers with wifi 6 like mine the antenna band is also ontop with the display, probably for better reception. but for slightly older ones like my old acer chromebook(the one that the screen broke on) didnt so it works perfectly fine without the screen. Also damn an emachine 720 bru kudos for still using that. i had an aspire one zg5 netbook from that time period but it had something like 1/2 gb of ram and 8 or 16 gigs of storage. It sucked to say the least

The funniest part is the 16” MBP being called light. I actually have one for college(parents paid, I took advantage), and it’s heavy as fuck getting to classes on a large campus. The iPad thing is surprisingly very common. Some people do it so they can get a really good desktop, but still have a device to take notes on outside of their dorm.
