  • Chris, I get it now. We are getting unprecedentedly candid views of what it's like to race an endurance gt car. You have no choice now but to go to Le Mans, win your class, and give us the greatest video of all time.

      @EdoardoBaldi@EdoardoBaldi6 жыл бұрын
    • In this case it was the fastest sector time. Since he had to play catch up, he was on the front straight at full bore when the grid went green where the rest of the grid had to be a start speed. So he took the entire first sector at race speed where the rest of the grid couldn't. A nice opportunity no doubt!

    • CairnieR British race cars, man. Idk what's with them. He'd have more luck driving Porsche's, Merc's, Audi's, Lambo's, or Nissan's than with any McLaren, Aston, or Jaguar.

      @arjuhama@arjuhama6 жыл бұрын
    • Maybe, maybe not. Depends on the race conditions because endurance races have all sorts of weird things happen especially crashes(see any of the Spa or Nurburgring 24hs as examples) where no matter what car you drive there could still be crashes, and in series like the Blancpain sprint there are inexperienced gentleman drivers who end up causing chaos due to not know what to do or how to properly drive cars which can happen for any manufacturer too.

  • My uncle has a racing team in Germany and they raced this car 'til about three years ago in the VLN race-series. The car is a diva to say the least. When it performed it performed really good but on a regular basis the car did find reasons to not work. :-)

    @DonDuracell@DonDuracell6 жыл бұрын
    • DonDuracell So that would make the team either; Gemballa Racing (raced in VLN and N24 with McLaren in 2012) or Dörr Motorsport (ran McLarens in the VLN/N24 from 2012-2014). If that's the case, your Uncle's team ran a 12C McLaren which was the previous iteration of this 650S GT3. So they're not quite the same car.

      @crimson764@crimson7646 жыл бұрын
    • IIRC, the 650S GT3 was sold as an upgrade package for the 12C - they didn't make customers buy brand new cars. That's why pretty much all MP4-12C GT3s disappeared from competition so quickly when the 650S GT3 was launched.
