We are back again with another blind reaction video. This time, we picked out 7 popular affordable men's fragrances for our guests can react to. What we do is spray a testing strip with each fragrance without them seeing any sign of the bottle/branding to get an honest initial reaction of each fragrance in this lineup. After a quick break, they then will go back and smell them all again to decide what is their favorite and least favorite. We hope you enjoy it!

Hi Everyone, we hope you enjoy this one. For those not familiar with the process of how these are constructed, we spray a testing strip with each fragrance without the guest seeing any sign of the bottle/branding to get an honest, initial reaction of each fragrance off the top. it's subjective for sure but popular fragrances become hits for a reason one of those reasons is that on average they pull more compliments. This makes people want to buy, recommend and ask people what are you wearing.

i agree, Bently for men intense is ... kind of too strong and too much boozy note, it's really masculine but..like too much, that why I understand most of girl don't like the smell. maybe it can be used in cold weather but not in the hight heat. and don't expect to get compliment from this cause I wear Bently for men intense just for myself, not for girl cause girl don't really like it.
Yeah when they said Bentley for men intense was "feminine", I had to stop listening. It is the polar opposite of feminine. It is too masculine for a lot of men.
Most people out there are used to the most common mens fragrances which smell a certain way so BMI probably threw them off

Still blown away by the usually negative reactions and what they associate the notes to. Definitely drives home why mass appealing scents like Voyage and Eau Fraiche still work and are safest option especially at a work environment.

@@nieczerwony I worked with a guy about 10 years ago that used to wear a shit ton of Kouros so much that somebody from HR had to get involved to get him to stop it. You could come in on Monday and still smell his Kouros from Friday. That shit packs a punch!

@@lancemontes I think they may pick up fruity vibes in both. Overall I like Most Wanted but these fruits which makes it really sweet is what pulls me off it. Way way batter for me I'd John Varvatos Oud. It has the same notes which I like in Wanted by Night i.e. Incense, tobacco, leather, cedar, cinnamon. Instead of citrus it has spicy cardamon, saffron, nutmeg and cloves. And the base is just smoky, woody amber. Just beautiful. To bad projection is poor and also performance not GR8. One can easily see it uses synthetic ingredients including oud. But Most Wanted does exactly the same. I would love something similar but better parameters, but didn't find it yet.

but it's actually not, the bentley for man intense only work in really cold weather, if you smell it in a man with hight heat... that will be terible. I know cause I did, and women around me hate it cause it too strongth and most women don't like the smell of boozy and tobaco.
I've yet to come across a fragrance that smells on paper as it does skin. I smelled Azzaro The Most Wanted, Dolce & Gabbana The One EDP, MontBlanc Explorer & Sauvage EDP on test strips at Ulta once. Smelled forgettable. Went back a few weeks later, applied them on different areas of skin..... all smelled amazing and eventually bought all of them. Never again will I use test strips lol. Because I won't wear a cologne on paper.

As a test I'd like to see Axe thrown in there. It is interesting to see these opinions compared to all the other fragrance reviewers I watch.

First I was disappointed that they were hating on everything, but then I realized that's why I wear fragrances for ME, not for others and definitely not to try to get compliments. I own (and enjoy) about half of those tested.
I think its because they are smelling paper strips! If this was on actually human skin they would be singing a different tune.

The liking and not liking is secondary, but I would say Wanted By Night and Cool Water are on the opposite ends of the spectrum. That confuses me. I would love to see opinions from a different group of women too. I suspect this could be due to the tester sheets. Would be a bit different smeling these on the hand or skin.
Bro one of them said Cool Water reminds her of Old Spice, and its what he 90 year old Grandpa wears. Old Spice is literally the most "peppery\spicy" old man fragrance you can find. Cool Water is one of the most youthful you can find

My son is 7 and is already a fragrance lover. He started out liking Old Spice and Euphoria because of his grandfathers, but for his birthday last year I got him a Sephora sampler set and we chose a bottle of Invictus for our full bottle voucher. It’s difficult to find young men’s fragrance that isn’t Axe body spray! Also, he has the Nautica cologne in this video and you can tell he feels confident when he wears it 😁

From a couple of fragrance people that I follow they recommend it for mid-20s people or younger guys getting into the scene they recommended Versace Eros and Versace Dylan blue, those two are very good

I picked up CK One Shock at T.J Maxx for $19.99. It's one of my favorite daily winter fragrances to wear.
It's a good fragrance and has good performance definitely underrated love the Amber notes.
After watching many of these reaction videos, I came to a few conclusions. Gab has an obsession with cough medicine or a fear of them. Shaylee hates most fragrances and prefer women's on guys. Tressa has the fragrance taste of the average woman. If you want to know what women likes, her opinion is the best reference from these videos.
Gab genuinely worries me. She's likened a scent to something destructive in each episode. She's talked about; Cough medicine Cigars Cigarettes Tequila and other alcohol

First video I've watched of the "group" reactions and just astonished by their comments. As others have mentioned, I would like to see reactions to store scents(axe, old spice, cremo, bath body works) to see the praise they would give to those.

The Nautica voyage being the “I make a lot of money smell” has me reconsidering all of my fragrance buying decisions
I'm curious if their tastes in cologne will change more if they keep doing the series. But for now it seems like the "freshies" are definitely winning in most of these videos.
They usually win when it comes to the general public and are also usually the first bought when it comes to people getting into fragrances. I hear a lot of people getting coolwater, nautica, versace pour homme etc when they make their first buy

Versace man eau fraiche smells amazing in hot weather. The dry down is beautiful for an aquatic fragrance. I find it superior to DG light blue.

Over compensating with Nautica Voyage??? lol okay. $15-35 for 100-200ml I smelled Nautica Voyage on a homeless man at a 7-11 in Oak Cliff, Dallas. For real. Complimented him too. Smelled great! 👍
This shows us, not only light fragrances can be liked by girls, but also if you use any fragrances other than summery ones you will fail.
You should give them two strips for each perfume. The dry-down and a fresh spray for the opening.

I was pretty sure the young lady in the light green hat knew nothing about fragrances and hates most/all of them until she said Man Eau Fraiche is like D&G Light Blue. But she also said CK One Shock smelled like “Ivory”. Does she mean Ivory soap? That’s not right, either.

I'd like to throw this in as well. People's taste change over the years. Also some scents smell better on skin than on strip. I have had this personally occur to me with Bently Intense. A few female friends of mind hated it 2 years ago . They didnt even stay for the dry down. Last week, at work, I accodently wore this instead of regular bently and they loved it. I even told them it was the same scent they hated two years prior. They thought I was pulling their leg. Peoples scent perferance change as they got older in life.

First I love these videos! And what i'm starting to see is that the notes and human perception don't necessarily go hand-in-hand. I had the same reactions to some of these when I only had 3 fragrances in my collection. But the more I get into this hobby, the more "tuned' my nose has become, and the more appreciative I am of fragrances. One thing to note, is that this is a small sample of people. I'd like to see different people over time. Of course that is a logistical issue. I would love to be able to pick up raw ingredients and just smell notes on their own just to get a base line reference. I wore Dior Sauvage EDT on a day I visited my parents and they both said it smell "woody" and yet I don't perceive that. Hence why I wish i had a collection of singular base notes for a base line reference.
When a video has me questioning my entire fragrance wardrobe choices for Nautica Voyage it’s time to tap out.
After struggling through this video I am floored. I love fragrances, and I have taken my girlfriend, mother, sister, and stepmother to smell fragrances whether it be to purchase one for them or just to have fun. Every woman I have ever exposed to fragrances had more intelligent things to say than were said by all the women in this video combined. There were no valuable opinions shared in this video at all, only sassy remarks that at times are so ass backwards for the fragrance being tested I have to assume they cannot smell at all.
Can you get one group from NYC and one group from LA? I have a feeling that their reactions will be way different than these and would be fun to watch

Would love to see these videos continue but would like to see a more diverse group of women. I also agree with another commentor who suggested getting a group of women from different areas of the country to do the same test. They suggested NY and LA. But I'd also like to see a group from somewhere in the Midwest and Southern areas of the country. As it would be interesting to see which scents are rated high or low in all areas of the country and which scents had a regional appeal. It would also be nice if the ladies mentioned what colognes they do like prior to the test. To give a sense of if they can be taken seriously. Maybe include one of those in the blind smell test to see if they score it highly or if they unknowingly rate it low.
They're truly clueless. Also stop testing the high notes, let it sit for 15min and test the drydown, not rocket science.
In the description of the procedure and in the "pinned top comment", they say that they go back and test the drydown before choosing.

I wouldn't say hate but more so just doesn't like Cologne in general, shaylee literally hates most of them and compares them to alcohol or just says there's nothing special about them, there literally hasn't been one fragrance where she shows actual interest

Really all this did for me was reinforce my belief that tester strips are the absolute worst way to smell a fragrance. I would argue that smelling it in the air is better. There is just some reaction with that paper that makes great fragrances smell like ass.
Yet another video that was fun to watch, but Gab sounding like a person who is either stoned out her mind or dropped waaaaay too much acid back in the day takes some of the fun out of it.
Can they smell the perfume off a model ? Since, once the fragrance settles on skin it smells really different.
Nice content, at this moment I between 3 fragances to buy, and this video and also jeremy fragances recently uploaded a video talking about this, we are using Complex, artístic and challenging fragances when the people prefer weak, soapy and fresh fragances, I think I should buy Dylan blue for a safe office fragance the next week, may be toy boy from Moschino could wait 🤣🤣🤣
For the office, I think F Black from Salvatore Ferragamo is perfect! Also is Mont Blanc Individuel. They're amazing in the air and lasts the entirety of your shift...
When I see these vids I feel like Teddy genuinely hates cologne and uses these women who have damaged noses from a fire and wants to just troll the entire fragrance community lol. I picture him in a dark room staring at his watch collection rubbing his hands together saying “You fools ! Women only care about the watch on your wrist not the way you smell ! “ Then he laughs maniacally as he dumps a bottle of Oud Wood into his fireplace.
Shocking; girls are hard to please. Its good to know what girls like/dislike. I was surprised that Bentley was not liked. I don't have it but its a scent the scent community recommends. Cool, cool video please do more, you guys are killing it.

You don't have to please anyone. Every perfume changes fragrance a little bit when it interacts with the skin. So try different perfumes.

I see all the guys are getting butthurt over their "manly" scents getting rejected, but this is a good reminder that thr general public isn't into fragrances. Hell, honestly these videos have shown that if you are on a blind date, Eros is more likely to get complimented than Savage.
You also need to look at the age of the young women and consider that in your opinions. I would say buy fragrances for yourself first and if a compliment comes great if not don't worry about it ... too many people worry about what other people think and do you really want a woman who rejects you for the cologne you are wearing and who doesn't like you for who you are? If you say 'but I want to impress the ladies and get dates'...I'd say be clean, be in decent shape, dress well (like you've made an effort) and smile and be witty and charming ... compliment her ... it will do more than any fragrance.
And no offense ladies most men care more about how you look and you're personality (i.e. fun friendly) than your perfume or the brand of clothing you are wearing too ... so it is pretty much the same for both sexes.
I could accept it if they even remotely got the scents correct. They all have an unbelievably bad nose.
And, Sauvage is HUGELY likely to get compliments. Ambroxan is irresistible to them. Eros is actually very over rated.

Versace overall is underrated and of the Versace line Man Eau Fraiche is the most underrated. It is one of my signature scents and I get nothing but extremely positive reactions from everyone when I wear that.

I like videos like this because it's a splash of cold water for guys who spend hundreds on fragrances because they seek compliments from women instead of asking themselves "why" they need compliments when they should be fixing their self-esteem. The girl with the Scarface shirt has nose receptors that pick up on notes that seem to cause her to associate each fragrance with a memory that doesn't fit with the image of today's man, with one exception, however. And she picks on accords that don't seem to be there but that doesn't make her wrong. In other words, you should not buy based on what women think. Buy based on "your" likes.
