The v10 s8 is slow as shit. The v10 in the s8 don't have nothing to do with the v10 in Gallardo.
The only difference between the S8 engine and Gallardo engine is the lowered dispacement due to the E-gear transmission that was in the gallardo was failing due planetary gears failure due to excessive torque. The other difference is the crankpin and thats pretty much it. Lamborghini is shit when it comes to reliability, given the fact that this 2 ton limousone is capable of reaching speeds like 186mph/300kmh i would never buy a lamborghini for straight line speed, i wouldn't even buy them for tracking, they are just heavy and understeering.

@@aymandc I don't have my car because it was a GCC spec and I moved back to the USA. That's the ONLY reason I sold it. That being said I knew what I was getting in to. Yes it's expensive to maintain. It's still a 100-150k car even if you can buy one for 15-30k now. Things to look out for are the air suspension. Plan on replacing the front shocks. Get arnott rebuilds with a lifetime warranty. Watch the air compressor. Do the relay for it when you can as it's known to fail stuck on. The valve manifold has plastic runners. They break. All the problems with heat management are true. It's a V10 wedged in to a sedan. BUT ITS A V10 WEDGED IN TO A SEDAN!!!! I Wouldn't want it as my only car or as my first car. But I would want it in my garage and hope to have another one soon!

Great review! Correction/clarification on the engines: when the C6 S6/S8 came out, it used this Audi-made odd-firing 5.2L (based on it’s 4.2L V8 and both had 90mm bore spacing) while Lamborghini used it’s own even-firing 5.0L (88mm bore spacing). They weren’t related. Later on, Lamborghini used this same exact Audi 5.2L except they had some forged internals, different intake plenums, cams, dry sump and some other bits to rev higher and make more power. They didn’t “take the 5.2L and make it into a 5.0L”. So while you can say that these Audi’s uses the Gallardo engine, it’s more correct to say the Gallardo uses the engine from Audi (and modified it to rev higher and have better oiling), but they didn’t change it to 5.0L. That was before Audi was involved as a parent company.

This S8 still missing a few options. The rear side window sun blind has an electric version. The sun roof is also not solar cell version. The rear boot also has an optional refrigerator. Some more options such as carbon ceramic brakes, acc cruise control, B&O hifi sysstem, leather trim dash, carbon fiber interiors

Actually, some key details are wrong in the video. The 5.2 V10 engine used in the Audi S8 and S6 (2006 was the release of the new V10 in S6/S8) models is NOT the engine found in the Gallardo or Audi R8. The first generation Gallardo (2003-2008 model years) used the 5.0 V10, an engine that is entirely Lamborghini-designed and Italian-made. The Audi V10 in the S8 and S6 (5.2) is actually based on the newer Audi 4.2 V8 design which used timing chains found in the back of the engine, all they did was add two cylinders. Though Audi had owned Lamborghini since 1998, they did not reach out to Lamborghini for the V10 in said S8 and S6. When Lamborghini needed a new V10 to put in the newer 2nd generation Gallardo and Audi was looking to put a more powerful engine in the Audi R8 (this was around 2008), they decided to codevelop the V10 for these two cars. Audi essentially told Lamborghini that they already had a V10 made a couple of years ago but it wasn't powerful enough and didn't have the high RPMs of a supercar engine. What they decided to do was pretty much scrap the whole engine but kept the majority of the engine block of the S8/S6 V10 the same. But they completely overhauled the rest of the engine resulting in 552hp @ 8,000rpm and 398ftlbs of torque @ 6,500rpm. So no it is not derived from the Lamborghini nor is it a Lamborghini engine but you can say you have 20% of one😉. Another key detail that is wrong is how Volkswagen ruined the Audi Quattro system. In fact, Volkswagen has not touched the Audi Quattro system, rather they use an AWD system called Haldex. The original Audi Quattro system still faced the disadvantage back in the day of being front-heavy. It was designed this way to be compact, simple, very strong, and compatible with longitudinal front engines. In order to fit the front differential on the car and not have to use a big, bulky transfer case, it was put inside the transmission housing right in front of the transmission gears but behind the input of the transmission. This resulted in the front axles being placed on the side of the transmission. However, this caused one big issue. When aligning the axle shafts from the transmission to the centerline of the wheels, the transmission naturally sticks out further due to the integrated front differential. This then causes the engine to be pushed forward right in front of the suspension towers causing a front-heavy car. Though Audi was extremely successful for a couple years from having AWD in a compact rally car, others like Peugeot and Lancia caught up and went to the mid-engine design. An interesting fact about the Audi Quattro system's weight imbalance is that it is similar to the way the rear engine Porshe 911 AWD drivetrain is but flipped around. In Porsche's case, the engine sits very far back behind the rear wheels and suspension. The transmission mated to the flat engines of Porsche uses the same integrated differential inside the transmission and axle shafts on the side of the transmission. Then you have a regular driveshaft on the end of the transmission connected to a differential like you would in a front-engine RWD car. However, Porsche uses the imbalance of weight to its advantage since all the weight behind the rear wheels means better handling and tons of grip on the rear wheels. Looking at the time, I've spent more than I should write this but I enjoyed doing it. Feel free to ask any questions!

The 5.0 V10 engine was constructed mostly by Italians, for the Lamborghini Cala project. So Gallardo has a Lamborghini designed engine. It is not true that 5.2 was reduced to 5.0. The LP 560 versions had a newer engine. The 5.2 V10 engine was a newer version constructed by the VW group. There is also the third version of V10. This is V10 biturbo. It is a combination of 5.0 and 5.2 by the VW group. So Lamborghini did not use this engine Audi S8

I would say about 10 y late (car is from 2009 and not a fair comparison, as its Na vs the V8s are turboed), nor is the engine from Lamborghini as bore is different, and audi uses 5 valves per cyl instead of 4 on the lambo, and the latest V10s are actually based on the audi engine, to be more fuel efficient. so yeah, im supposed to "believe" someones claims that hasn't done his homework and gets the basics wrong about the car.
