  • The game was one thing but the commentary of ken Daniels and Micky Redmond was award winning commentary, the excitement of the game and passion they have for the game made it like a playoff game. Then kaner scored in OT wow what a game.

    • Hate is such a strong word and it doesn't really belong in sport, not liking someone doesn't have to mean you hate them. It's a rivalry where the emotion level is significantly higher than against many other teams and that's a good thing. Emotions are important, but hate is a bad emotion. I know what you mean - at least I hope so - and I didn't want to offend you.

    • I loved after the insanely long ovation for Kane, and his three laps (unheard of, but it's Kane) the crowd goes immediately into "Detroit Suck$" I'm a Detroit fan who grew up when we were rivals in all sports. Love the recognition of a great player in Kane, and the recognition of the great rivalry in the Wings. That is a sports town!

    • If you watch the whole game, the wings got outplayed the entire game, even the 3rd. I do think it’s a great sign if we win games even when we’re outplayed though, and that ending was just storybook. I literally said “shut the fuck up” when I saw the outlet pass to Kane in OT. You just knew that was going in.

  • Reimer won us this game or at least played a massive part in the win. He had so many saves that kept us within a goal. The save on Bedards breakaway, and the save right before the Kane breakaway.

It makes perfect sense they’d want to keep trying Husso. However, if Reimer keeps playing like he has, then yeah the decision’s made for them :)

  • I've watched the OT period maybe six times now in various places and it just doesn't get any better than this. Cmon, man... I mean if ever there were a storybook ending THIS is it! Just WOW! Have you ever heard the other team's crowd cheer FOR your goal before? This was just amazing. So much emotion! The woman at 6:17 wearing a Blackhawks jersey jumping up and down with tears in her eyes captures everything about this game, this ending, and just how much one guy means to not just an organization but an entire city. Sooooooo glad he's now one of ours. He's a Red Wing and while Chicago fans won't soon forget this game neither will Detroit.

  • Omg. My hats off to the Detroit station Ballys. I watched Sports Nation video before this. And they never put in the appreciation video from the Blackhawks of Kane in their highlights. Plus their announcers is like watching paint dry.! No excitement, like Ken Daniel's level of intensity.! Thank you Ballys.! And Ken Daniel and Mickey Redmond. You both are the leaders in NHL announcers.!

  • Haven’t heard Ken Daniels this excited 5:40 in a LONG time. He and Mick know we finally have a playoff caliber team again after 7+ years. Depth scoring, elite goaltending, and the ability to come back late in games is a recipe that could have the Red Wings being a tough out this year for any team.

    • Yzerman and Shanny use to do that all the time, especially Shanny. He didn’t in the 1997 Cup Finals against Philly. He did it against Colorado and the Blue’s. It was always interesting to see the goalies reaction to those types of goals.

A statue in front of LCA would probably be a bit too much to ask, but I would like something within the arena that permanently reminds of them as an amazing broadcasting duo, especially for the Red Wings and not just for the NHL

  • This is probably my favorite hockey game I’ve seen this season so far! Not only did the Red Wings thanks to an OT goal, the Blackhawks fan showed a lot of respect to Patrick Kane when he got the OT game winning goal! It was amazing to see the Hawks fan being very supportive of Kane after he got that goal, even though it cost the hometown crowd the win. Great sportsmanship right there!

  • Raymond played great game without getting on the score sheet. His backchecking has improved immensely this year. Reimer picked a great time to find his game. Stoning Bedard on that breakaway won the game.

    • That slashing call on Raymond in the second that put the Hawks on a power play was mighty weak. Technically a slash? Sure, but c'mon. Does not matter now anyway. Reimer held the team in that game and deserves a ton of credit. Raymond is coming into his own for sure. Glad he is on the team.

  • There is absolutely NOTHING like have Ken and Mickey calling games. Hockey isn’t hockey without these legendary voices, they are as much a part of the Wings as any player or coach.

  • I'm not crying, you're crying. That. Was. Incredible. Couldn't have drawn it up any better. Kane on a breakaway in OT against Mrazek, the Detroit draft pick... Both goalies were really good and made some stellar saves. I'm still a Mrazek fan, and not just because he and I share a birthday.
