I know no one's gonna read this but I gotta say, I found this keyboard online for cheap cuz it was "broken" (in fact, it needed just some cleaning) and i googled it and found this video, just because Linus reviewed it like a lifetime ago, I decided to buy it, clean it and now use it, hahahahahaha, hello old-school KZhead :D
I just found one of these in my attic and decided to restore it and it sounds beautiful, I love the sounds of the switches, 7 years ago. This feels like a couple months ago, thanks for the video it helped me restore it and understand the features since I didn't have the box
I have this keyboard for almost 6 months and zero problems and i look forward to every time i get to use it. In my opinion its the best in terms of functionality and asthetics

I got mine today, I`m using it to write this :) I love the sound, the backlighting and the anit ghosting :) I have improved my game by buying this, I used to use a cheapy key board and it was terrible. Now having this.... I just love it! :)

I've had this keyboard since January and it's still working great! I completly love it, yes it's a bit expensive but it's definitely worth it imo.

Just received mine in the post today!!! After watching this video, Linus got me hooked on this keyboard and it is really amazing! Each key press has that satisfying click on those Cherry MX Blue switches which can be quite noisy if you type a lot but that is the only negative I have with this keyboard! Get it if you have the cash!
I still have mine. It still works as of today. Two lights on the keys have gone off but its still rolling. Love this keyboard still

Yep. Found one of these brand new for $5 at a good will. Pretty happy with it.
I've been using this board for over 6 months and it is the hands down best keyboard I've ever used. Really solid feel, perfect function, dripping with quality, totally love it. Bought this board because my old board couldn't keep up with my typing speed. This one delivers the goods, big time. Might be nice in blue or red backlighting, but the green is also gorgeous.
mine came in today. it is a tournament but it is still awesome none the less typing is so awesome on this thing. feels super sturdy
I hope the 2014 version will have blue backlighting i really liked it on the 2012 version.
it would be cool if in Razer synapse you could choose what the back lighting is
yea, but multi color lighting is not available on cherry mx.... But wait corsair and cherry announced the cherry mx rgb. :)

OMG I got this today and I already love it, it is not like my old Logitech so I'm not all to used to it yet but I love the feel of it and how smooth it is. Now all I need to finish my full Razer gaming setup is one of there mouse pads and one of there mics

It's Not. I personally recommend The Cooler Master Storm Quickfire TK Blue Switches I like the loud ones, It helps me game.. (for some reason)

I have the 2014 version and it's the same way :/ not too bad though. Ali plugged in my headset and just put up the rubber feet and had the cords go underneath the keyboard to the other side.

Just got this keyboard today. Love the mx blue switches, although theyre a lot louder when you're typing away at full speed! No issues with drivers (on windows 8.1), looks and feels great. Would have liked a wrist wrest for the price

I would get the Razer Black Widow Ultimate 2013, it's great, it's very strong and i haven't had any problems with it, personally i love the sounds of the keys being clicked as i type this to you, it's a personal favorite

***** because razer is using shitty-ass chinese switches in their newest models. thus, the keyboards tend to be less money-effecient and generally trash af. i bought the corsair k70 though. it's amazing, you should buy it as well.

I saw one of these keyboards and had a closer look,fell in love and need to get one.
Ports on right side of keyboard... bad choise, most of the time mouse is right next to the keyboard so now you got cords in the way.

got mine today and thanks to this video found how to put put the LED lights on,thanks.
Just got mine through the door a couple of minutes ago and just plugged it in, confirming that it has 20 brightness levels and not 15. This keyboard is also a LOT brighter than what it seems in this video, it's a lot brighter than a Lycosa or a Microsoft sidewinder X5/6. If anyone is considering moving from a normal keyboard to a mechanical keyboard and have the budget to do so, i would definitely recommend this keyboard. It feels amazing and it looks amazing and the mechanical keys are bliss.

DrewEon the keyboard doesnt even use cherry mx's they use kaole, which is a cheaper crappy version lol

I'm using the 2012 without backlight and it's still fantastic. Never had issues with it and it stays clean! It's the perfect keyboard. This almost certainly proves that keyboards haven't come far in the last 7-8 years. Yes there has been a shift in key-types and RGB, but the core of the boards are still the same! You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on keyboards.
My one still going strong in 2020! Given it a deep clean, but as good as new.

I was really impressed with the lightning on the keyboard when I plugged it in...it's so bright...I love it! This whole keyboard is just amazing. Razer knows how to make good keyboards :D

Just for reference, I’ve had this keyboard for 8 years now. And it STILL WORKS PERFECTLY. LED’s haven’t even faced. Insane build quality and it’s crazy. Super grateful for this investment

got this keyboard today , such a difference! Quite loud , yes , but feels solid yet smooth. It isn't going to fall apart but it wasn't a complete monster to use. It is fairly big but you probably don't care about that too much. Love it! Thanks Linus :)

I've owned both the Blackwidow Ultimate 2012(Blue lighting) and this exact 2013 model, and BOTH have broke out of thin air. One day they worked fine, next day, no power to the keyboard, no lights, yet I plug in a backup keyboard into the same usb port, and it works perfectly. Shame because I loved this keyboard ( I just wish they offered it with Cherry MX Red switches instead of blues (Reds afaik are better for gaming due to a quicker response time on each key stroke, and not as loud but still clicky). Now I have a CM Storm Mechanical short keyboard(no numpad) and it's doing well so far. Hoping it stays that way. I will say my Deathadder 2013 is the best mouse I've ever used for gaming though.
I have the basic Black Widow for my iMac, and I love it! When I started typing, I felt like a kid again on my old AT computer. :D

Yes it can. I have a Mac and I use it on OSX and on the Windows partition and works flawlessly on both. I use a keyboard when i connect it to an monitor.
Got it today and I absolutely love it! I AM somewhat of a Razer fanboy, and I know ive spent way to much money on their stuff which is always more or less overpriced. But I can live with that. Their stuff almost always looks awesome and usuly works great even though they sometimes require some tweaking and dedication. The blackwidow is no exception, looks badass and feels/sounds a charm! Need to find a good pad wristrest though, they really could have included something for this price =/
I got the standard black widow 2013 and it's amazing :D ( I didn't get the backlit version because it was out of stock but I like it this way as well,it's awesome :D)

I don't know why but I love the sound of loud keyboards I think it's cool.
I have one and it's by far the best keyboard i ever used. you can configure every single key on the keyboard (except the windows and FN key obviously XD) and the back light is amazing, it has 21 levels using the keyboard shortcut and in synapse 2.0 you can use a slider with % so you can basically go in between these shortcut levels, for example you can make it less bright that the lowest setting from the shortcut using the software. you can also set the back light to turn off when the display is turned off. It's also pretty easy to clean and feels like new even after a really long time of use.

Amazing keyboard Have had it for about 6 months now... only had one problem and in the middle of the installation of synapse 2.0 the space bar spazzed out.... Overall Great keyboard... and there is 18 levels on the keyboard you just have to have a very picky eye to see past 15. Would recommend this keyboard to anybody.... close to 8 pounds and i love the tactlessness great for gaming and the response is amazingly fast.
My friend has one of these, and he bought a new board a few months back. I decided to borrow his old one (this board) yesterday, to try out a mechanical keyboard (I'm used to the Microsoft branded rubber domes). The backlight was way too bright, and I was too dumb to work out the keyboard brightness button myself. Thought "Hey maybe Linus has done a review and pointed them out", and sure enough. Thanks Linus, saving one idiot from keyboard backlight glare at a time.
i just got one today and this is the second time watching this first cause linux is a boss and i didn't know how to turn on the backlighting ha :)

Regarding the "click" sound, Im using some O-ring Dampeners (Max Keyboard Cherry MX Rubber O-Ring Switch Dampeners 50A - Black) and they are working really well. Also, this keyboard can be used with a wireless mouse connected to the usb. Works great.
