The Corsair K95 is their new "top of the line" gaming keyboard. It's got pretty much everything their other keyboards have combined. Macro keys, individually configurable backlighting, a fully mechanical layout, and a gorgeous black aluminum finish.

@ 4:08 anddddd there is the drop we were expecting!Well done 2014 Linus :)
My Corsair K95 is still working after over 5 years of daily use. Still not regreting buying this keyboard. Build like a 'tank' and never let me down. Sorry Corsair for not buying a new keyboard from you. This one is just to good. Are their more 'gamers' that still use this keyboard in 2020?
Great time to upload this I was planning on buying a new keyboard to replace my k90 as it was wearing away. Thanks so much for reviewing this keyboard!!!
bought one of this yesterday. so far so good. Thanks Linus for this overview.
Bloody hell. What FPS do you guys capture that slow pan footage at to get that kind of backlight flicker?
Fraps says it's about 30 fps.
Oh really? That's good to know, thanks!
now its 60fps
It's not about FPS. It's about shutter speed.
No review on the light scheme customization software? Is there any such software?
+Muddy Fudger Im not sure, ive had mine for a while and haven't yet found a program
imran rehman I found another review, looks like its the same thing the K70 uses
***** But is it as easily programmable as the Razer Chroma?
+Muddy Fudger I think they did a separate video for it, I got the k95 and the software is really not that nice. I played with the razor one and it was a bit easier but I got the k95 for the physical aspects of it.
Eppiox Aye, that's what I've heard
This video has peaked my interest in Corsair Keyboards as your other videos have me backing Corsair products in general. The K50 has particularly caught my eye, would love to see a review when its out!!
This is actually the keyboard I've been waiting for to get. After your overview, I'm still wanting to get it. Thanks, Linus.
The last series I watched was Avatar, when it was still on TV.
That is one fine looking keyboard holy shit.
As always, great job on the review. Been watching your stuff for years, keep it up.
Using it since 5 years, just bought a new one today. Never wanted to change and never will.
Hello sir! You should setup your filmcamera to like 24fps with shutterspeed on 48/50, than the light don´t "flim" and when the camera guy move or you move your head, the movement will not look weired :) I´m a photographer/filmmaker :PppP
is this keyboard worth the money?
Very nice unboxing, and same as predvecerom, will order this one now, this really made me feel i want this, looks very stylish, got some very nice features, is slick and love the hight of the keys, Thank you for wonderfull review!
I bought this keyboard used about 6 years ago. I went through more than a few gaming keyboards and some ergonomic keyboards since then. Tonight I saw it on the shelf and said, what the heck, lets give it another go. So, a blast from the past, but still a standout keyboard.
Is that one better than the k70?
Same shit, more macros.
The Keyboard is the Same layout just add 18 Macro keys off the left side.
is there a keyboard like this but with blue switches?
Yes.. I believe they actually make that one in both.. Red, Blue and brown
He said the k70 has blue versions.
k70 is exactly like the k95 but without macros right? might look into that
vlixilv Yes.. it is
i would buy the k90 if it was offered in other switches, i just dont like linear switches. so i ordered the k70 in cherry mx browns
Typing this from my new K95... Thanks for the review, Linus! It sold me on this amazing keyboard :D
Got this after seeing your unboxing video. Thank you. Subscribed.
That flickering looks irritating as hell, is that just an artifact of the recording or does it really do that?
1:15
Oh thanks sorry, I missed that.
OverlordSolvent your not the only 1 buddy i was like wtf read your comment saw D'Angelo's comment skipped vid back and was like yeah pay attention boy :)
:)
I saw a razer ad before this videoplayed. Oh the irony.
I have the K90, I had problems relaxing my fingers on the keys at first as accidental presses were common, but now, wow, it's truly amazing :P
Typing on one right now, deifnitely the best keyboard I have ever tried. Absolutely LOVE it.
is this keyboard still up to par?
Andrew Sederholm thanks for the reply. I grabbed the brown k95 for 190$. i am not used to spending this much money on something like this but i have never used a mechanical keyboard and i figured, i might as well go balls deep and get something that i wont replace for a long time rather than get something weak that ill replace quicker. whatever they release though, if it is cheap and better, ill regret making the purchase. right now i am considering going from my h80 to the h110 gt or 100i gtx
jimm3ronn i have 19 dead LEDs on mine.. :(
AWILDTravis how long have you had it for?
just under a year now.
AWILDTravis still under warranty
when the k100 is reality now
ever since I started watching this channel I have been going to NCIX in Mississauga and recently just ordered parts from them for a new pc with the 4770k. pretty nice ppl there and gave me a discount too. :D thx Linus
Oh you're in for a treat. I just got mine yesterday and it is my first mechanical keyboard. I began to wonder how I got past all the years of not using one.
Damn dude, buy a pocket knife for opening boxes.
Cardinal Sins Haha, you're right! Not sure how I missed that, he has a key-ring knife, sorry Linus!
I always wondered why does Linus handle things so violently and carelessly???
+PsychonicJoe Because he is a busy man, and he probably receives a damn keyboard once a week.
he's probably bored of unboxing stuff lol
he even carry a very very expensive camera really carelessly
Now i know what my next keyboard will be!Epic keys and the design is so amazing, really easy to clean it seems awesomeee!
I use a Model M for typing that I recently found in my grandparents garage, I only use my MX Black for gaming because it's a lot quieter. I like the harder presses for gaming since I miss click keys a lot when moving around the keyboard.
They started at k70...
Even still, the K60 came before the K70.... So he is wrong in 2 ways
WARNING. don't buy this keyboard the LEDs will die. i have had mine for 6 months and i'm up to 19 dead LEDs. its a very common problem with these keyboards!!!!!
That's why I stick to logitech.
I’ve had mine for 6 years, and not single LED have died. Either you had a defect, or you have done something to it that you shouldn’t.
I love Corsair keyboards, they just ooze quality!! I got the K70 for its fps keys etc to replace my K90 but I almost wish I went with this, the white leds look really classy. Roll on Cherry RGB so we can have the best of both worlds...
This review pretty much made up my mind of getting this keyboard. I've only had it for just over a month now but it's so amazing. After my Logitech G15 r1 keys decided to die I picked up a G19 and despite being probably the best keyboard I have ever used, the actuation force was too high plus it was a ruber domed keyboard. Sold the G19 after a year to my friend and picked this up and boy what a difference - never going back to a rubber domed keyboard ever again.
7:09 hes not a pro gamer :(
why is it that Americans can't pronounce the word Aluminium? Oo ALUMINIUM not ALUMINUM, how difficult can that be? ^^
Good thing Linus is from Canada!
How is it that people keep confusing america and the US
Except it's aluminum
Alek Schultz try looking up "Aluminum" on e.g. wikipedia. It'll redirect you straight to Aluminium.
Nicholas Walter "Two variants of the metal's name are in current use, aluminium (pronunciation: /ˌæl(j)ʊˈmɪniːəm/) and aluminum (/əˈluːmɪnəm/)-besides the obsolete alumium. The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) adopted aluminium as the standard international name for the element in 1990 but, three years later, recognized aluminum as an acceptable variant" so it really can be both I guess. There is no definite answer, both names work.
You deserve way more hits man, Keep it up!
I bought this keyboard on release after seeing it at CES on Linus's channel. I can honestly say that it is the best keyboard I've used, and I would recommend it to anyone for gaming.
I always liked the K95 (at least since I saw it on Corsair's website). Great unboxing Linus
The two columns of keys at the very left, can that part be removed? It looks like it is detachable!
Great video. I just ordered mine today. Looking forward to playing on it. Is there a steep learning curve for the increased sensitivity of this keyboard compared to a regular keyboard?
It's actually the camera's shutter speed that is doing that. I've filmed a few live gigs where I had to adjust the shutter speed because the stage lighting was flickering on me. Though a faster frame rate would also make it less noticeable.
I myself use the K95 going from a logitech g105 (rubber dome) And i gotta say i really enjoy this to the fullest. took a while to get used to the new keyboard and to readjust the muscle memory in your fingers. But all in all its an amazing gaming keyboard.
I bought the Corsair K95 thanks to this overview, its the best Mechanical Keyboard out there right now. Thanks Linus =D
just received mine today. awesome keyboard and well described by Linus (as usual). i ordered 2 and one of them arrived with 4 burned leds. had to send 1 back. failing LED lights seem to be common from some of the reviews i have checked. from what i have researched it seems like the RGB fixed the burning led issues once and for all.
did you mention that the kayboard is a bit bad with lighting up the number area? should have checked even if its suprising
have they changed the design of the keyboard in the past couple years? when i look one of these up on newegg/amazon, i only see what seems to be headphone jack where the USB passthrough you showed was.
Looking at this KB for my next, I have the K70 and like it. Question! Is the Macro keys area metal or is it plastic? Looks like its added from the K70 metal KB. Great video!
Great review I love Corsair products especially the vengeance series. Great product Great review, very informative.
Just ordered this keyboard, going to be the first Mechanical one I own, can't wait to see how it does! :)
Spelling out your name with the backlit keys. Man, that was gold.
Will they sell the red key cap sets that came with the other? I dont see them included in the 95?
Nice overview bro. I hope i can get my own K95 soon. :) Feeling excited.
Hey very cool video, i just got my K95 today just installed but i notice something different, my backlight does not tremble like the one you have on the video my backlight is a white steady color why is yours different??????
Extremely awesome review here !
How would you clean it? I have dust issues at home so cleaning is a big concern
how noticeable is the break between the macro keys and the rest of the board?
Are the macro keys able to program pauses? And how strong are those flip-out feet on the bottom? Those have broken on every keyboard I've owned.
I already ordered that mastodont its comming tomorrow :D just couldn't wait
After 8 months of rough use some LEDs just died and I have no idea how to fix or replace those. I might try to take out some of the ones on the macro side since I never use them anyway.
Ive just ordered it :D CANT wait!
Ordering the K95 this week! :D
Love it, a very nice keyboard indeed! I did like the silver backplane on the K90 but the black K95 is equally awesome. Kudos to them on listening to their customers, and switching to fully-mechanical with one revision. Nice. :) I own a Das Keyboard Pro S (Blues) and love it, but the lack of backlighting is difficult for gaming in the dark. So this is atop my list for a general use 'board, gaming, typing and all.
Question to you. Can one use this model with the cherry keys for normal every day typing compare to the blue key model?
Some weird things, i have a k95 but my enter key is not the same as linus has mine i a bigger and more vertical one! and how can he take the keys of the board so easy?
Yes best keyboard video nao!!
I use the the K 90 and I love it!! Best keyboard I have ever used. NOTE: I spilled about half a cup of Milk directly on the keyboard by accident. 2 days of drying time and..I still worked!!!! 2nd NOTE : I also spilled Snapple, a couple months later and... after 3 days of drying time.. It still works! I had to pull some of the keys and use 91% Iso Alcohol to clean around the keys after the spills, but they cleaned up nicely. They move as freely as day one I love this keyboard! Worth every penny!
Linus, which keyboard do you think is better for gaming corsair k95 or razer blackwidow ultimate please reply
i also want to ask, are the buttons very noisy? and do they come off REALLY easily? are there low quality easily breaking cheap plastic parts?
I've had my Naga for around 6 months, game on MMOs almost every day, spam the buttons like no other, and have had absolutely no issue on it.
any good link on how to replace the led's behidn the keys? a couple of my keys dont light up anymore, where can i buy replacements at also?
i was going to get the cooler master storm trigger but this has really caught my eye.
Damn, I would've loved the backlighting to flicker like that!
is that pad with programmable keys detachable?
Linus could you please explain all the differences in mechanical keyboards such as K-RO, plate/pcb mount, anti ghosting, usb/ps/2, etc. As for me i would like to know the difference between plate mount and pcb mount
i dont know about this one, but I know taht k70 is supposed to launch in brown and blue later this month so perhaps this one will too?
Really nice keyboard. The elevated keys also seems like it would make it a lot easier to clean too.
I just got this keyboard and it feels fantastic!!!
Linus, will you be upgrading your Acer S7 for the new updated Acer S7? Thanks
thats the keyboard i been looking for without clicky sound
i love it the K95 looks awesome and can you do a alenware tactX keyboard unboxing!!
Getting mine tomorrow, finally.
Great video. What I would like to know is the length of the usb cable of this keyboard.
I know that mechanical keyboard clicks are quite audible. Are these a more quiet edition keyboard clicks like the BlackWidow 2013?
Cadaver from UK Yes love this one I have been looking around for some time and will get one today.
I thought I saw Red back lighting for K95 during CES? That had actually gotten me excited for this keyboard.
Do you mean like a delay between pressing a and s for the macros? If so, I think it can do it with the software you install for the keyboard. I bought a K95 for myself the other day and it really is an amazing keyboard. One issue with the software is I can't map "ctrl+Tab" for example to a single key. I could do this with my Logitech G15 so I'm a tiny bit annoyed. Other than that, amazing keyboard. Really happy with it.
I don't have that much Razer experience but the 2 products by Razer I own are awesome. I got my Black Widow for 45 bucks and it is perfect. No key ever got stuck and after 2 years of 2h gaming a day it still works flawlessly. Just got my DA2013 a couple weeks ago and I'm still buffled how much of an upgrade it is from my MX518
Do the leds actually do that kind of flickering or is it just the camera that makes it look like this, and they in fact are constantly lit ?
thanks for your vid. gonna buy the k95 next week to replace my ducky shine ii
That makes sense, I've seen it in tons of videos, yet I've never seen it on my CMStorm or older Corsair keyboard.
I've heard that the K95 has had problems with LEDs when it was released, does it still have the problem where they burn out quickly?
I've had my Razer Naga for 2 years, it still works perfectly with very heavy use?
Just bought this on Friday. Still getting used to it. There is a light beside the CAPS lock indicator light that is blinking constantly. I see no mention of what it's for in the docs and I see in the video that yours is not blinking. What the heck is it? Thanks!
Me too. Was waiting to see if they would relent and offer the K95 with blues, but they didn't so I bought a CM Storm instead. My only question is: Why? Would it really be that hard to offer even one other switch? I'm really not a fan of reds.
Okay so one of the feet for the keyboard broke off for me, is there anywhere I can buy one?
Are the macro keys detachable? I see a split in between the macro keys and the actual keyboard.
So what you are saying that MX clear are the loudest ones? If so could you recommend any keyboards with MX clear switches?
