  • Styrofoam "snow" was used one year for a holiday event at a nightclub. I worked there 15 years and was still finding little Styrofoam balls 15 years later. No matter how much you sweep and vacuum.

    • They are not poisonous but they can not be easily digested and will pass straight through the digestive system. So there is a chance of blockage. So this is still a bad idea. Just a few of those beans and your cat won't be eating.

  • I know you love Pusic , so I am sure you would never endanger him "for likes and clicks", as some people are suggesting in the comments. However, the bean bag balls are not safe, as he may have inhaled and / or ingested them while playing, and this mightclog up his lungs and intestines. Also, this stuff is near impossible to clean up, so it might pose same danger to your young son Timofei. Please be careful...Best wishes to you, your family and, of course, Pusic !

    • So concerned about those pellets. Espcially scary was seeing a close-up of the kitty with a nose full of pellets stuck to it and all over its fur. I know without even having to see video evidence that those pellets will be stuck inbetween kitty's pads, paws, and claws which, unless the owner decides to shop vac this cat over and over again, is going to end up being cleaned up by the cat via its tongue and swallowed. Terrible idea! Edit note: spelling correction.

    • Yeah.. what occurs usually is intestinal blockage. This happens after the cat licks them off it’s fur when cleaning. It’s not going to spit it out. It will ingest them, won’t get digested until there’s a pileup.. then rawwrrrrlll rawwwlll later..dead. Styrofoam itself, ..most kinds, can be eaten and passed, usually, if it’s a little. But this is too much.

  • curiosity always wins when a cat is confronting the unknown. Nice video showing the worried stage, the exploratory stage, the testing stage, the summarising stage, the 'oh, that' stage and loss of interest. I would be worried that these small pearls which are so easily electrically charged would be swallowed or breathed in by the cat, plus it must be a hell of the job getting rid of them all in the home as they spread at the slightest air movement.

  • Seriously do not do this, I remember seeing an article and pictures in vet archives of both dogs and cats stomachs cut open full of this exact stuff. Apparently it can smell good to them or something and some will consume it. Don’t leave your animals around this stuff.

    • styrofoam is non-toxic when ingested. If it builds up, it can block the GI tract, but a styrofoam bean is highly unlikely to harm a cat

    • @@willtheoct In my case, it was a styrofoam plate my cat chewed on over 20 years ago. I believe it did block his intestinal tract. However, he developed Cushing's simultaneously and was in dire shape from thinning skin. I *thought* the vet said it was from the styrofoam breaking down but I could be mistaken.
