One of a Kind! The Best Mobile Miter Saw Station for my Festool Kapex
One of a Kind Mobile Miter Saw Station
I finally completed my Festool Kapex miter saw station. In this video I will share with you its features, as well as footage I took during the construction of this workbench. Please share with me your thoughts in the comments!
Majority of the structural pieces, I used scrap wood. I had several pieces of scrap plywood laying around so I thought to use them to save some cost.

That’s a great miter station. I’ve not seen anything like it. Great work!
Very cool Ding! Thanks for sharing your creative build.
Once in a while I come across a woodworking video and ask myself, why did I have to watch this? I'm halfway through my build then I watch yours. My plans might change because this is one of the top 3 miter saw stations I've seen. Very creative and like your title says "one of a kind." Love the dust collection idea. You have a new subscriber.
This is the exact thing I need!!! Are you selling the instructions for the design? Please
Really smart design...Subscribed
Beautiful!
Very nice and well thought out!
Awesome work. On the way to make one for myself thanks
Nice Station. Jealous lol. You should sell plans for this
Great job! Very smart layout. Thank you for sharing your time and talent!!
Really cool station. Great work:-)
Nothing but respect!
great design and features
this is very nice!
very cool!
Those cool jig/tools to build the cabinet! :-)
Great work as usual!
Thanks! 😁
Dang, this is some good work, smart too. A+.
Thanks!
Very nice work, I love the look as well.
Thanks!
Very nice and inspiring design Ding!
Thanks!
Your creativity and problem solving skills are very impressive my friend. I’ve been sraching for ideas on building my kapex miter station and this is honestly the only one that has even made any kind of impression on me. No plans or videos have made me say wow once. Yours actually made say wow, and out loud even, every second. This will be my main inspiration for my build, but to fit my personal needs. I look forward to watching your other videos!
Thanks Michael for the encouraging words!!
ABSOLUTELY LOVED this! Awesome job! Love the thought process behind this and adding dust collection into it. We just built a garage and the workshop though 26’ deep it’s only 13’ wide so we will need to make smart design choices when building the shop and this would be the perfect miter station.
Love this comment. Thanks!
Looks fantastic do you have plans? Or some measurements?
Sweet setup. I'm planning to build a station like that, but it's a highbred of Ron Paulks miter station with a Kreg Forman, ridgid orbit sander, drill press and the kapex...each mounted at different location the station..
Man that sounds awesome!!
Hey Mate! I just made a copy of your design for my festool and drill. I appreciate the time you took to create a english, and native language (mandarin?) I actually enjoyed the other one. Thanks from Canada!
That’s awesome Ryan!!👍👍
You going to make plans available for this beast?
Did you put a few screws through the PVC pipes and connect to the copper wires? It's probably a good idea to release the static electircity in the tube as well
that's a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll add some screws to retrofit!
Great work and design! I'm about to start a miter station have you had any issues with the dust collection? I'm also concerned with the static.
Hi Robert. Before I made this station, I had hoses running from my dust collector to my tools (table saw, router table, etc.). With this station, I feel the airflow is stronger (might be due to using PVC rather than hose?). For the miter saw portion, I added a reducer from the 4” air duct and connected 2.5” hose to my miter saw’s dust port. The result is amazing (in comparison to connecting my shop vac to the miter saw)
@@DingsWorkshop thank you for the quick reply. Really glad to hear. I've been planning on working on my dust collection for a while and now that I've seen your design it has really pushed me to start. I picked up some pvc today and am about to start working on the design. Thanks again. Keep it up!
@@DingsWorkshop would you stick to a 4” pipe running through the whole unit or change up to a 2.5”?
Hi! Great job! I also dream of my workshop! Do you have your own premises, is it a garage or are you renting?
This is my garage :)
@@DingsWorkshop Thanks for the answer! I wish you creative success!
What are you using to support the Kapex fence?
Sorry I’m not sure I understood your question…
Great station but I'll never again use handles with the potential to snag anything... hammer loops, wrench or phone pockets, power cords.
That’s a very good point!
You may apply for an invention patent 😂
