lol yeah, my sim got invited to like 5 graduations and none of them worked, my own sim didn't have a cap or gown and didn't receive her diploma... ever
I’ve had a game going since May of last year that started with one girl going to college. I played at an absolute snail’s pace and very slowly took her through school, graduating, moving, getting a job, dating, getting married, moving again, having kids and raising them. Her three kids have been been children for like five months in REAL life months and I’m holding out just a bit longer for this pack to drop to age them up to teens. All my patience. It has paid off.
How do you go so slow? I get bored doing the same things over and over again and maxing everything out 😭 I wish I could play with families longer without being bored and fucking them up lol
I am the same! My world has been going since Vampires launched, it's a miracle it all still works. Families and relationships that have been going for longer than a lot of real ones haha. Wondered if more played that way. Each new pack is just new experiences for them, and I usually make and add a new family themed around it as well. Maybe I will finally age up all the kiddos now. :)
I literally don’t know how you do it😭😭😭 I make a new game file every time I open it up lmaaao Even when I try committing to a family I end up closing the game after 3 days of playing for months at a time and when I go back to it I forget everything I had done and literally lose any connection I had to them 😭 Most of my sims rarely age up out of young adult because I get bored of them so easily lmao it’s a problem
I’ve been playing with the same sims family since 2016 (city living just came out) and my first two sims still have teen kids 😅
And here I am playing on short lifespan and still feeling like some of the life stages take too long lol
This pack looks great. i agree that a pack for elders would be fun. Bingo, square dancing night, throwback 59's date night at the elderly home. Pranks for the feisty to do. Like hide their fake teeth! Oh, and golf.

I mean you could probably have some funny/cute things like bingo, more interactions and activities to do between grandchildren and grandparents, scrapbooking, and maybe like a 'rival' relationship between Sims that makes them do different things to annoy you every so often like knock over your trash can ala Sims 1, maybe play ding dong ditch if the neighborhood teens are annoying you and you can chase them off with a cane
I would also like to see things like funerals and graveyards kind of be part of that too
The Sims team needs to stop playing with my emotions and bring back the teen parties from sims 3. I want my sim to be able to throw something crazy while their parents are out and get away with it/get busted/sneak out to teen parties. Its the perfect time and it makes perfect sense.

For those planning on getting the pack and rebuilding the high school, here are some rooms from the top of my head to add if you want ideas: computer lab, theater for drama club, pool, science room, nurses office, art room, library, music room, janitors closet (incase sims want a quiet place to you know), principal office, morning announcement and secretary room, secret club room behind a book shelf where occult sims hang out without disguises like that one Halloween town movie, faculty office, a gym (though you can change the auditorium lot to be the gym so career day, prom, and graduation happens there instead), if you have City Living then add a spray paint wall, and that’s all I can think of for now :)

It’s probably a good idea to put all of the essential rooms right next to each other and then surround those rooms with all of these ideas. That way it doesn’t take forever to get from class to class.

The socially awkward “interacts great online but falls apart in person” thing is TOO relatable. The situation between Molly and your Sim is exactly the relationship I had with a girl in high school. I’m gonna get a lot of laughs out of this pack.

I actually really prefer that they focused more on the “living life as a teen” aspect instead of the actual going to school and sitting in class aspect hahah bc realistically playing a week of the active school will be enough for me and having so much to do with friends is WAY cooler
I feel like there’s not much they could of done with active classes and I probably would of gotten bored of it really fast. But I think all the like out of class stuff they added makes for really good story telling and I’ll be able to do that stuff with like every teen sims I have and still have fun.
Yes, I agree. Since I mostly play with bigger families I feared that I had to micro-manage my teenagers through school and would neglect my other family members.
@@rachelcookie321 you can actually do a lot if you are creative enough. There is so much science and chemistry experiments they could do. Literally could have mini games and projects similar to Get To Work that actually teach stuff to kids playing the game (like for example teaching people how and why we know Earth is not flat). Have music classes that you actually improve the quality of the team, clubs. Social, philosophy and discussion classes and clubs where you have options to choose certain takes. This was great opportunity to make puzzle like games similar to Selvadorada as well. Not to mention all the sports and art that could have been done. Theatrics club, school events and festivities. We already have festivals - give us cultural festivals where we can have simple cafes and scary houses. Parades with music club, actual cheering and matches in sports. Even a written word rabbit hole adventures about history of the Sims and lore would add dozen levels of depth to this boring pack. Mentality of sitting in class and looking at the blackboard and tests is so last century.
@@mjm3091 yea but doing those classes would get bored after doing it once. It would be the same every time and there’s not much story telling opportunities. I would rather they put effort into features that I can keep playing every single time without getting bored instead of ones I’ll get bored of first time.
Now we need an expansion that focuses on children, toddlers, and babies (and get a base game baby update) with CAS and BB only for them, nothing for YA or older, and entirely just be tons of toys and activities and family things to do. Maybe parents could have interactions with the stuff but all of the content should be focused on the children as priority. Since parenthood is mostly about adults interacting with kids and parenting them, we don't have a whole lot except for like 3 new toys that are actually for kids in that game pack. We really need an expansion that's just for kids/toddlers/babies with new aspirations and lots of activities for just them.
Idk if they'll make any more kids oriented packs considering there's a few already for kid/ toddler items, and there's a good amount of kids only interactions/activities (there can always be more though). This is the first thing for teen only stuff. If anything they need to make a pack focusing all on babies since that's the 1 life state completely lacking in all aspects still. Bring back baby baths, changing tables, carrying them around, strollers, more baby interactions and actual baby toys etc. I hate having to age the babies up in 1 day cause they're too boring.
I'd say a base game update for babies and then a game pack for babies would be enough. There's enough game play for toddlers imo to make that life stage interesting but I would really like changing tables and strollers to come back
yeah, like in the Sims 3 they had a bunch of things for kids, and more outdoor activities. i think it’d be nice to see that again

I’m honestly extremely disappointed that there’s no band. How can they have football and cheer but no band. I’ve always wanted more instruments because I play clarinet in my schools marching band and I have to have my sim self play violin or something.
High school football games aren’t complete without the marching band!!! And I feel you on that, I do Colorguard so I can’t even have my sim self pretend to do band

We didn’t even have a band at our school, I don’t think that’s a common thing in the UK. They’ve probably tried to stick to activities with more global appeal, even though the (American) football and cheerleading are very US-centric themes
i think this one is a proper expansion pack. like, it actually "expands" an existing base gameplay and that's amazing in my opinion. huge props to the Sims team and the creators who worked with this pack.
The additions they’ve been making to their content team + enlisting creators help with building has clearly helped them SO much. They’re actually getting a fan base back ever since cottage living. Smart marketing, smart way to rebuild the reputation ea has. Solid work

The High School experience is limited and gets repetitive easily and it focuses too much on 2000s pathological schools from American teen movies. No teaching career, small world, one school for all worlds. Aside the amount of build and buy and partly the CAS - this is a Game Pack. Kinda expected after the other disaster that was supposed to have University in it. Instead we got unrelated trifting and third or fifth influencer career. They could easily replace this and use existing features and spend those resources for after school activities and proper and fun lessons with active projects Get To Work style - just full depth teaching career would improve it immensely. We have bullying, but we don't have normal classes or options for student interactions in classes.

Seems like such a missed opportunity that we can’t have different functions during class time. Like the option to fall asleep or talk to friends or text friends, and then get in trouble by the teacher and get detention. Would’ve added more drama and excitement to the overall experience of going to school with our sims

This sounds great but I miss the Sims 3 scenario where parents went on vacation for a few days and the teens could throw a teen-party which ends up with cops showing up
And it came with generations, meanwhile it took the sims 4 two separate packs…and it still doesn’t have a lot of gameplay
This pack has potential. I was always so sad that teens do not have enough things. EA was focusing only on small children and kids so I'm glad they finally did something for out lovely teens ❤️
Yess. I don't know why people are mad the little kids don't have anything in this pack. But they got so much stuff. Also teens have lots of freedom unlike how kids can't do alot of things.

I find that when things in the Sims “don’t make sense” on a surface level, it is usually just a good opportunity for creative storytelling on your part :) Like maybe Molly has a horrible memory. Like clinically if she doesn’t write something down she’ll forget it. Then you can incorporate and use that to guide later gameplay:)

So glad that teens can have their own aspirations. Nothing more frustrating than when one of the steps to achieving the aspiration is “become an adult”
This looks great, however as a prior bandie, I wish they would’ve added band as a “club” that could help boost your sim towards a music/entertainer career or something
Yes, I for sure thought we were going to get bands with this, and a school band would have been great at a minimum.
This honestly feels like a mod that everyone uses. It's so fleshed out and realistic, and now sims can just be romantic and friendly without me clicking a million buttons. But what saddens me is all the hate the livestream is getting. Edit: I take back what I said about the highschool part. Everything else besides the highschool part is chefs kiss, but that's so ironic and sad that everything but the highschool parts are more fun. I'll still enjoy the after school things but as for main class gameplay itself it's pretty boring.

I'm so bummed that there's no creative afterschool activities- painting, guitar, theater that could build charisma? Anything! I wouldn't have cared which one it was just to have SOMETHING in that realm of activity because i feel like so many simmers were little creative kids when they were in highschool. But other than that the pack looks really good! Thanks for an awesome review simsie!
if you have get together you can gather a bunch of the artsy kids from school in a club and have them go out into like an empty lot with only art easels and have them paint

I wish you could create a "status quo" almost in the pack, as part of customizing the school. Say you get to pick which clubs are "popular" or more heavily engaged with, and then that club gets an event that you can customize, like you can for holidays in Seasons, and that's the weekly event instead of football day. Because from what I know, I've seen high schools where drama is more popular than sports... it really depends, and this would give players more control over their experience and world.
I'm thinking that to simulate it, you might be able to make get together clubs for the members as well - give the popular club the popular trait, have some clubs be mischievous to others and so on. It would be ideal to be able to do it within the confines of this pack, but also it's always good when pack cross compatibility comes up I think.

I agree. I went to an arts technical school and the idea of having sport prioritised above choir, orchestra, drama, art exhibitions, fashion shows for student-made clothes etc. seems very... generic
I’m genuinely just excited for more content for teens. It feels like the game didn’t focus at all on this stage of life for your sims. Even if the pack wasn’t as engaging as we thought it would be, it would still be nice to know that we had more content for teen sims. So excited to get my hands on it!
That’s one of the many reasons I use the preteen mod, so there can be a difference between them. But I’m super excited I’ll be able to take my sims to school in person now!!

I actually really want the sims devs to focus on babies, because babies in sims 4 are just objects and that’s very disappointing. In sims 2 and 3 babies were great and fun to play with. Babies like in the sims 3 u could take out the babies from the crib and u could have strollers. (U can take out babies from crib in sims 2 but idk if they have strollers).
Teacher:"Ok kids,today you will all tell us what your parents do for work,let's start here..." Teenage Sim:"My daddy stays at home all day in our mansion and keeps typing "motherlode" and every few minutes he buys something new 😊"
Imagine being so socially awkward that the person you’re dating rejects you when you invite them to prom and then gets mad at you for not inviting them to prom
Fun fact: I rejected someone asking me to prom but it took me around 3 days to realize that's what they were asking. Like, we were both socially awkward enough that his asking sounded like a hangout but I was too exhausted by school and people in general and so said I didn't feel up to hanging out. Extra fun fact (just as awkward): I had a great friend who was willing to deal with my awkward and introvert I'm-exhausted-by-people way of life. Like, he would come over to hang out and I'd always end up taking a nap in front of the fireplace before he went home. There was a day I came to school and opened my locker, moved aside a huge sheet of paper, and put my stuff away. I was on autopilot and planning on sleeping through my first class. Turned around and said friend was standing there. He asked for my answer and I realized only then that it was weird that I had a huge poster in my locker so I reopened it. It said "prom?" in Japanese katakana. I said yes and we went as friends (he had no interest in dating women). Once my brain caught up, we made it a good memory. I wore a kimono bought for the day specifically that I later put on display along with the fan, some pictures of getting ready and my friend picking me up, and the poster itself. But sometimes I lay awake at night thinking how much it must have hurt him that I was so passive I didn't even notice his promposal.

I think the thing about not having many after school activities that bothers me is that the four they have kind of overlap. Like computer and chess club are "mental" and cheerleading and football are "active." I really would've liked them inclusion of art and charisma/social clubs. Still, this looks like a good pack
I'm gonna use Get Together to (hopefully) make extra clubs (acting, band, etc) and have it be activities that build related skills
This pack actually seems to meet my expectations for the most part, and I’m so excited! I do agree that I wish there were more clubs or special classes, like art club or band/choir. I also find it a bit strange that the new traits are only for teens, at least for the socially awkward one. I’m 26 and I’m still socially awkward 😂
I'm not sure if the traits are removed on age up or will remain throughout their life

It's also bugged rn anyways. I tried making sack lunches to bring with my sim to their vet job but they couldn't put the bags in their inventory and I couldn't drag them in. Instead, they were just floating in the air around the sim.

Just the fact that Sims/townies can now initiate relationships and ask questions autonomously is worth it for just that alone. I feel that this pack is top tier, and very thought/fleshed out. I look forward to playing around with this. I haven’t been too enthralled and bitten by the lip for the Sims 4 dlc in a while, so it’s extra exciting and welcomed. As always, love this video and review.

this expansion pack looks phenomenal. i was on the live and some people were complaining but i think they did an amazing job and i have never been so excited for an expansion pack. i can not WAIT for this to come out, ahhh!!!

A lot of the people in chat during that live stream were HORRIBLE. So many people whining and complaining that there is no teen pregnancy, people spamming puke emoji's when the live stream was talking about the new lgbtq+ stuff.
Ever since I read a post on Reddit about an elder pack focused on retirement in a Florida-type world, the sims feels so empty without it!!! I hope like others have mentioned that they add another ep but based on this idea 💡!!

They have high school, university, get to work, now all we're missing is retirement.
Maybe they could do like Bali or something because I know a lot of people retire there too and I just really don’t want to see another pack with an American based world. We already have so many. And I understand they would have more American worlds because it’s an American game but now they have like 10 and that should be plenty. They should start branching out and showcasing more cultures.

Kinda have three big issues: -the bleachers don't work and sports events don't seem to be actual events where the field is used for games -marching band is completely absent -schools can't be placed in other worlds. this is the biggest bummer for me
that sucks because i wouldn’t want to play in copperdale all the time. Like i wanted to have a boarding school or play a school full of vampires or something
@@slasherflicks976 That's what I wanted too because it offers the most replayability and makes the expansion impact the entire game as opposed to being a sectioned off feature in a single world.
@@slasherflicks976 I mean.. couldn't you make a bunch of vampire families and have most of them attend that school? it'd be like that anime on Netfli: Vampire Knight Where there's mortals & vampires attending. Except in the anime mortals attend in the daytime & the vamps at night but i think.. I think the vamps are also there at daytime but they're in the basement. Idk I read the plot a while ago. This idea seems fun lol ^w^

No, doing different lessons, having to do the work and having to ask questions in class is more realistic then doing nothing. It also adds game play so not sure why you would want nothing to happen in class in a pack about going to school. If the modders did this with Zebu school pack (which I have) then EA could have.
Marching band seemed like a perfect opportunity as an after school activity that would add a bunch of new and very needed instrument options and gameplay opportunities but maybe it'll be its own pack someday 🤞
Yaaaaa…. American schools have gotten super strict about “hall passes” when I was in middle school we had 3 hall passes for the entire trimester and had to try not to use them to get extra credit. They don’t like students roaming around the halls so that was pretty realistic
this must’ve been public school because at private you could just use the bathroom whenever. obvs you’d have to ask but once you got to junior/senior year you could just motion to the teacher that you were using the bathroom and they’d understand!!!
this goes for walking through the halls too, but no one left class unless it was to pee lol

Really liking the look of this pack so far. Very detailed but wish you could do more in class. sleep, take notes, talk to class mates (get kicked out for it), cheat on test (get kicked out) would be awesome.
This Pack has potential, But I’m not gonna lie and say I didn’t have high hopes for the active school lot. I want sims to be able to interact in class, Pass Notes, throwing paper balls or being called up to the board to answer questions

@@NurseD98 Hate to say it, but this is one of the most unlikely aspects for modders to be asap on unless there's preexisting stuff or they have one of those cool motion cap suits. TS4's modding community has loads of cosmetic cc and script mods, but the animation modder department is mostly for nonfunctioning, storytelling purposes. There sadly just aren't a lot of modders out there who work on making animations for more sim interactions. So, the quickest thing you'll get (if anything) is a script mod that lets you click on a speech bubble that says "pass notes" without any actual interaction.
The first 2 minutes of this video had more drama than all Riverdale seasons combined and I LOVE it :D Also the chicken overload at prom is so freaking funny for some reason. It's like some proud mom was in charge of catering but she's a bad cook so she just went to a supermarket and got a dozen of roasted chickens. I laughed so hard when they showed it on stream :D

Yeah, they should have included more extra activities like art, crafts, music, journalists, supernatural events. That could have made the patch more interesting, imagine art competitions, parade with crafted cars, newspaper with all the gossips in highschool and class president campaign would have been nice to.
Yeah I was hoping for more after school activities, but I can imagine more coming with updates or else hopefully our trusty modders will be on it 🫡
I think I’m going to use Get Together to create clubs specifically for that reason.
I was in 6 after school activities my senior year. None of them are options, so far. I’d love to see a theatre group’s after party!!! Or a choir class (I can understand not doing show choir at least lmao). What about book club??? Or debate? Swim team? Hopefully we can at least get a few more options via mods.

I was watching the sims livestream and I was SO INCREDIBLY SAD when I saw the school. In the trailer it seemed not only bigger, but more well made. I took a screenshot from the trailer and I’m sure the cafeteria is not the same there and in the game. Can’t wait for you to rebuild it so I can actually like how it looks

There are limits on how many assets can be in the lot so that it doesn't lag. This means big buildings end up empty.

It won't in the stream wedding stories the pack was already glitched but in this stream for hs everything seems to work very well even for a early version
I don't think you need to worry, after how good werewolves was I sort of just brushed off my wedding stories as whole mess up. I belive (not confrimed) that the file for the pack got corrupted and ea didn't give them enough time to fix it.

I do wish they’d make teens shorter. I use a mod for this with 2 different options but I’d love to see it in the game so that teens don’t look like weird versions of adults.
Realistically many teens are just as tall as adults, but they "look" younger. My 15 year old daughter is taller than me! So that would be more ideal, I think. Sims Kids have younger facial features, why can't teens look younger than adults.

While there are definitely tall teenagers (I’m one of them!), I think that it would be nice to have teens be at least slightly shorter just to differentiate. I agree that they should ideally look younger as well - the cc I’ve installed does that too.

@@s6scha yes! however I still think that them going from 7-11 to 15-17 is rather jarring and it can be hard to differentiate them from adults. I’m a tall teen and I just think it would be cool for teens to be just slightly shorter in the sims.
Honestly if you flatten their chest and bum, and make them incredibly lanky, they do kinda look like teens. Also, dress them accordingly too. :)
It’d be great if all the teens actually went to school at the same time, I went to school with my sim every day for 2 weeks and his girlfriend was never there, it was just the same group of teens every time, and only a couple of them were my own sims, they were mainly the sims that came with the pack.

When I was watching the livestream and first saw that when they arrive at school they have 2 hours before classes start I thought that was way too long and unrealistic. But then I remembered how long it takes sims to do anything and you kinda need 2 hours if you want to actually do anything before class. Like in real life it takes me 5 minutes to eat a sandwich but sims take like 45 minutes. So while 2 classes seems weird and seems like very little classes in one day, I agree that it would of been way too chaotic and stressful if they added more.
Definitely buying this pack! I LOVE that new window you can sneak out of. It's just a basic window that alot of real houses have! I agree with seasons. I love the holidays!

Oh my goodness, this might be the pack that gets me into coding custom jobs! Like I can see making a debate club, music club, art club, etc. with the clubs and putting in part time jobs for the thrift store and boba store. I'm very excited for the storytelling aspect, I'll definitely be going to career day to see what my sims may be interested in. I kind of like that high school is a bit boring because then I can just leave my teens to it on non-special school days and help with my sims that are at home so they don't burn the house down >o
I think the problem is that some of those clubs you mentioned are already part of another pack. Debate clubs - University, drama-club - get famous, music and art ones you can kind of make with 'get together'. So they cannot really take that stuff and put it in another expansion as it's already part of another one.

I feel like the clubs we had in school when I was younger was math, science, art, drama, sports, dance, and Future Business Leaders (which was like an honor society and you could earn credit for college). I feel like Future Business Leaders would tie in well with the career day. I also think the career day should feature primarily part time jobs and you could get a job offer from the different booths (like real career day).
After watching the livestream, I am so excited for the expansion and the patches! They are finally adding some much needed depth. I love how the NPCs are going to have more autonomy and not just be props in the background. The new fears/wants system seems awesome. Just so excited!
I know it wasn't the focus of the pack, but I think it would have been a neat addition to also add onto the educator career a little bit. Like they could have turned into an active career similar to the Get to Work careers. They already have the high school lot built for it so tasks might include giving lectures, assisting students with assignments, attending parent-teacher conferences, etc... You could also grade papers and create lesson plans during the lunch and free time periods.
Finishing the test early and getting put into detention actually happened to me irl lmao. Can't wait to do the same thing in game 🥰
I would love to see a pack centered around Elders and disabilities. Could you imagine if they implemented mobility aids, hearing aids, an actual function to glasses, retirement homes, personal care assistants, physical therapy, scars (including top surgery scars!) maybe throw dental things in there too like braces, dentures, wisdom teeth removal, your sims could get cavities from eating too much sugar and not brushing. I think it would be really cool to see something like that come to life. Maybe your sims could become permanently injured from accidents like getting electrocuted or set on fire. Stuff like that. Maybe the same pack could add broken bones and such. Clumsy sims can fall and break an ankle. A hysterical sim could fall down the stairs and break a leg. I’m kinda just pumping out ideas but omg it works be so amazing.
I would love mobility aids! Lots of different ones (wheelchairs, rollators, crutches, canes, etc). And ramps. If we had ramps I would literally never put stairs in my houses ever again. Heck stairs lol

id love to see wheelchairs and ramps added to the game. my moms in a wheelchair and she plays sims but often times she feels excluded because she cant make herself in the sims.
I’m a wheelchair user and I would love to see them in the Sims, but I def get why they haven’t been added yet. There’s difficulties with interaction animations between sims, needing to develop ramps in build mode, remaking builds to be accessible for wheelchair users, etc. I do hope they eventually get added tho. I’d finally be able to use a chair without having to deal with static electricity buildup 😂

I'm super super excited for this pack. As someone who had to drop out of high-school due to health problems, I have never gotten the high-school experience. I haven't been to prom or gone to graduation so the idea of making myself and doing that through this pack makes me so so happy. I also love that if your sim is expelled or drops out, they can get the sims version of a GED which is what I did so I just love this pack already. Plus I'm a family gameplay person and the cas for the pack looks amazing so I really can't wait to get this.
This pack seems a lot better than I was expecting so far. It might actually get on to the list of packs I'll buy once they go on sale!

Oh I think it would be super cool if in the school expansion packs like high school and college that they could include becoming a judge becoming a mare and also the kids could learn sign language that would be so fun
For me, I think the pack has enough build mode stuff to make an Art Deco house or building because within the packs that I own only Vintage glamour shows up in the Art Deco category in buy mode or build mode, I think there are a few assets with decor to the max and paranormal but that's it.

This pack is honestly some of EA’s best work. It feels like we are piecing together elements of the old games and modernizing it. I love that. The livestream got a lot of hate due to a few questions not being answered, like the photo booth or more depth on the new virtual careers. This pack had lots of potential and the sim gurus are definitely living up to that hype!
This pack and being able to set a curfew on the calendar is gonna be bomb! Love it here!
