  • "About Time" is still one of my favourite chick flicks of all time, and it has the added bonus of time travel. I liked that while romantic love is depicted, it has more of a focus on the love shared between family, particularly Tim's relationship with his dad.

  • One of my favorite romance movies ever is The Longest Ride, another Nicholas Sparks movie! It’s so freaking amazing & makes me cry HARD! While I totally get behind the Notebook & its impact still, I feel sometimes the Longest Ride surpasses it a tiny bit but that’s just a personal preference! So many good picks on here! 🙌

    • I understand where you’re coming from, I really do, but watch it again. It’s one of the best movies ever made. The locations, cinematography, acting are incredible, and the little moments like the zoom on the hand. The tension is unreal. The miniseries is better for the amount of content, and I adore Colin Firth, but this one is better in so many different ways.

    • I love LLL. It is an homage to the song & dance movies of the 1930’s-1950’s. It is analogous to “Silverado” for cowboy movies. It is sad to me that people don’t realize that we get a happy ending. It is packaged in a different manner, I watch romcoms a lot. They are like science fiction movies. Interesting but it is never going to happen. Happy endings are, after all, only in the movies. Sometimes. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)

    • @@martingreenberg870 Not my favorite but I do enjoy a good romance (loved Pride and Prejudice). My biggest issue with romantic movies is if the people would just communicate properly the movie would be over before it starts so it ends up feeling contrived. Serendipity is a great example of a movie that never needed to happen if the characters hadn't behaved in a completely contrived manner.
