As iconically mean as Regina George is, it’s definitely Nancy from ‘The Craft’ and Jennifer from ‘Jennifer’s Body’ that I wouldn’t dare mess with.
I was about to riot if Heather Duke and Heather Chandler weren't here. Thank god they are. Heather Chandler absolutely deserves number 1.
Vivian Kenington was hardly a mean girl. Yes, she played some mean antics, but she did not go above and beyond with cruelty the way mean girls do. Also, until she personally got to know Elle for herself, everything she thought she knew about Elle was what Warner had told her. From Vivian's perspective, here comes this Barbie doll wannabe who supposedly gets into the school through dumb luck just to try and win back her ex boyfriend; now Vivian's boyfriend. Vivian had a motive to break and discourage Elle, but stopped after learning that she was wrong. A mean girl would have pushed forward with the cruel antics long after learning that Elle had been misrepresented, and would have gone after the little dog too.
Preach Sister!😅
After a few rewatches, Enid Wexler was worse than Vivian.
I loved Vivian! I didn't think she deserved to be on this list.
Exactly 💯👏🏼
Heather Chandler is the classic example of the Mean Girl. Though, I liked that we saw a vulnerable side to her, when she's pressured into being intimate when she doesn't want to. It's a shame that this isn't included in the musical.
Seeing this vulnerability really humanized her in a way I feel other “mean girls” aren’t. Which perhaps makes her an even “meaner” mean girl, since we understand she isn’t as 2 dimensional as we thought.
Am I the only one who doesn’t see Sue Snell as a mean girl & never did?
Cruel Intemtions is still a favourite guilty pleasure movie of mine and SMG is absolutely amazing as the ultimate mean girl. To go from Buffy to Katherine..
She played a spoiled rich girl named Sydney Rutledge in a teenage soap opera called Swans Crossing then a troubled young woman named Kendall Hart on the daytime soap All My Children as a teenager, so playing Buffy was actually one of the first times she played a nice girl. 😉
SMG was perfect in this ! True classic and the brunette hair was an awesome touch
I really love how Mandy Moore is so versatile! She can be a villain, but she is also just as good as the main character. ❤❤❤
27:03 *Jawbreaker* is seriously a hidden gem of a movie. One of the best 90s movies 🍬
my favorite of the 'mean girls' genre by far. Rose was an absolute treat and terror
Nothing hidden about it. Being decades old doesn't make it hidden.
Why do you think Sue Snell is the mean girl? Why not put Sue Snell in the top 30 good girls in movies?
Exactly
i think Chris Hargensen is the only mean girl in Carrie!
Okay, I haven't seen this yet, but I have to comment here. Sue Snell went along with her friends, but she didn't feel good about it and tried to make up for it. That doesn't make her a mean girl. That's more like peer pressure there.
@@kelleyk28 that is true but Sue Snell and her good deed is to make an amends with Carrie White and make Carrie White feel better
@@chriscaughey2308 That's kinda where I was going with that.
I agree with all of the mean girls on this list, especially Christy Masters from Romy and Michelle's highschool reunion, Sharpay Evans from Highschool Musical, Vivian Kensington from Legally Blonde, Lana Thomas from The Princess Diaries, Courtney Shane from Jawbreaker, Heather Duke and Heather Chandler from Heathers, Kathryn Merteuil from Cruel Intentions and Regina George from Mean Girls. What I still find unnerving is that mean girls really do exist. And to this day I'm thankful that I never really had to experience that(most of my bullies were male).
lol I used to follow mean girls
Rachel Witchburn, Sydany White, its in her last name, she is awful.
What about the mean girls from Porpoise Spit high from Muriel's Wedding?
I like Mandy Moore better when she’s voicing Rapunzel instead of playing a mean girl in The Princess Diaries.
Princes diaries came WAY before rapunzel lol 😂
@@user-sq4tm3oq7w I know that.
@@user-sq4tm3oq7w The only reason why I love Mandy Moore is because of her character Rapunzel.
sarah michelle gellar deserved oscar for this role
But what about Heather and Megan from White Chicks?
Am I the only one who thinks that Janice Ian was the true mean girl? I mean, she is the one who set Cady up for making Regina George out to look like the bad guy
Janice was definitely the Cassius to Regina's Caesar.
@@PHSDM104 regina loved cady
@@user-mn5si5jd5z Never said she didn't. I'm just pointing out the Julius Caesar parallel. Regina = Caesar Janice = Cassius Cady = Brutus
I would actually say it's equal honestly. But, at least Janice was awfully nice to Cady on the side.
This gets addressed directly in the movie. Cady: You know what? You're the one who made me like this so you could use me for your 8th grade revenge! Janis: God! See, at least me and Regina George know we're mean! You try to act so innocent Janis admits it
Marianne Bryant is one of my fav mean girls ever 🤣 she leads that church group with an iron fist! Also love her and Olive's shady banter LMAO they are hilarious
WHAT???!!! Sue Snell is the antithesis of a mean girl. She asks her own boyfriend to take Carrie from a genuine place in her heart-it was both out of remorse & to let Carrie have a night to herself. She even tries to warn Ms. Collins when she sees what Chris has planned. Sue was an odd choice for this list. Chris or Norma should have been on it instead
Caroline from 'Sixteen Candles' & Laura Lizzie from 'The Craft' definitely deserve a place on this list.
I never thought Caroline was a mean girl, she never bullied Sam or her friends. I thought Sam's sister was more of a mean girl but that is just my opinion.
The part Sharpay Evans was included in this video really got me hyped up Spider-Man style!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
I liked both movie and book versions of the Duff, even if both are radically different. For example, Bella Thorne's Madison doesn't exist in the book's universe, and Bianca doesn't live with her mum, but her dad.
*MY FAVORITES:* Sharpay Evans - High School Musical franchise Lana Thomas - The Princess Diaries Gibby, Kirsten and Kristen - Never Been Kissed Tess Tyler - Camp Rock franchise Amber Von Tussle - Hairspray Heather Chandler - Heathers Marianne Bryant - Easy A Tracy Flick - Election Courtney Shayne - Jawbreaker Carla Santini - Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen Lucy Wyman - 13 Going on 30 Kathryn Merteuil - Cruel Intentions Shelby Cummings - A Cinderella Story Madison Morgan - The DUFF Vivian Kensington - Legally Blonde Betty Rizzo - Grease Regina George - Mean Girls Monique Valentine - She's the Man Heather and Megan Vandergeld - White Chicks Amber Mariens - Clueless
Moniquie Valliantine, she should have that name, not the other she is a horrible valley girl and dreavse Vi's ex boyfriend, who is sexist to women.
Courtney Shayne and Kathryn Merteuil had no remorse for their action until they were exposed
Karma is getting the worst of them.
@@Richardsonprincess00but it hit them where it hurts the most
What about the movie 'Odd Girl Out" ? The worst mean girl, backstabber, false friend ever.
Oh DEFINITELY Kathryn Merteuil. Her downfall was so satisfying to watch in the end!!! =) Regina George is a given. Sue Snell...hold the f up...WHAT?!?!?!?
Sharpay will stop at nothing to achieve her dreams Okay and ?
SHARPAY IS NOT THE VILLIAN!!! She was THE theatre girl of her school! Just because she didn’t wanna give up her star spot, doesn’t mean she was ‘mean’. I was the Ryan of my school and was constantly overlooked for more popular people who couldn’t sing, dance or act.
She was a villain
@@caseydominick7806 Yes! And MsMojo called Gabriella a villain. But I agree with you, Sharpay is TRULY an actual villain.
It's more than just not wanting to give up her spot, it's the lengths to which see goes for it. Let's not overlook all the manipulation, scheming and overall meddling in Troy and Gabriella's relationship. I've been in the performing arts for decades and I would never backstab like she did.
Not only that. But troye and gabriella wanted special treatment despite being late for auditions. I’m sorry clearly they had other things they prioritised. The rules don’t do age for you: you were late for your audition. If you’re so committed you do everything to be there on time. Sharpay loved theatre from day one. That’s her lane. She worked her life for that space. Troye and gabriella being a couple doesn’t suddenly make them special. Clearly sharpay is way more dedicated, she goes the extra mile in her performances
@@PHSDM104 well you go to lengths when something is your LIFE. Just because we were told to root for them doesn’t mean they’re right. Sharpay was always committed 100% to theatre. She lives it, she breathes it. Troye and Gabriella were late more than once and just expect special treatment because they’re the main characters of the movie: they were even late for their audition. I’m sorry, when you really want something you focus on it like nothing else matters. You can’t be half assed do you really care about this thing? Gabriella even forgot lyrics during performances. The arts is cut throat if you’re not fully committed then the next person can take your spot. You don’t get participation trophies. Sharpay and Ryan were always ready to go: lyrics and choreography memorised. Disney essentially wanted us to root for amateurs and vilify a veteran lol
Definitely Heather Chandler. Happy sunday afternoon, Emily. Take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well.
Not putting regina george first is a crime
Not really. Heather walked so Regina could run.
The only one I would be scared of is Nancy. That bug and snack scene scared me enough just watching it 🫣😨
I realize a Mean Girl is a high school trope, but Betty Warren from Mona Lisa Smile deserves to be on this list.
I am surprised that Hilly Holbrook from The Help wasn’t on this list! It’s not set in high school, but Junior League seems close enough…and how she treats everyone, including her own mother, should definitely earn her a spot in the top 10.
Yes! Bryce Dallas Howard played Hilly Holbrook with immaculate passion. She should be on this list.
What about Monique From She’s The Man Sebastian Girlfriend
saying sue snell is a mean girl is just wrong..
Nancy didn’t start out mean or evil. She was a poor, abused girl who didn’t have an outlet for her rage. It became too difficult to keep the magic from controlling her, especially since she didn’t have the genetic background. It became too easy to use magic for power and revenge, rather than just becoming a stronger person.
Pause ...Sue but not Chris is WILD
Marion Hawthorne is an iconic mean girl she straight up stole Harriet's journal and read it loud in front of everyone and turned her into an outcast im surprised she didn't get mentioned
Oh yeah! From the movie Harriet the Spy. I love that movie! But I never liked Marion Hawthorne lol! They should have definitely put her on the list.
Jennifer check was sacrificed to a succubus! not a demon! XD
I was thinking #1 would be Regina George, since the movie is called "Mean Girls." I also thought of Kathryn Merteuil from Cruel Intentions. One you left out is Suzie Toller from Wild Things. On another note, did anyone else notice there were a lot of Reese Witherspoon movies on this list?
Something the majority have in common: insecurity.
I love Saved. It’s such a great indie film. Casting Mandy Moore against type was hilarious.
regina george supposed to be number 1 not number 3, it does say iconic of Mean Girls and title too.
cruel intentions and heathers are iconic too
Where's Judy? From sleepaway Camp?? She's really iconic
26:54 I bet Regina George is #1
I like how the thumbnail features another mean girl other than regina george lol
Thank you for number 1
Norma was more of a mean girl then Sue Snell was
Pls do Mean girls of Reality Tv ( Pls include the pioneer of Reality Tv The Real World ) .
Awesomeness and even if they are teenage rivals but they did an awesome playing those characters!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
Great video! Surprisingly, the top 30 lacks the formidable presence of Queen Of Mean Audrey from Descendants.
Kathryn Merteuil (Cruel Intentions) deserves the #1 spot, not 2.
My Spidey Senses are tingling over this!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
Wow, I didn't know Megan Fox was in "Teenage Drama Queen"!
Amazing
Harriet Bentley was iconic, crazy but iconic.
Regina George is THE mean girl
Where's Regan McNeil from the exorcist? That's a mean girl for sure
Which one would I fear? Megan Fox. I've heard that she's super scary in real life.
Blair Waldorf!!! Or every female character of the 90210 reboot
It’s for movies to TV shows lol
I am soo soo tired of this stereotype of making blond girl the villain...
I would be scared of Courtney Shayne.. my god
Too bad Heather Chandler’s meanest quotes are too salty even for KZhead. 😅
Becky Sharp, Emma Woodhouse (Cher Horowitz) , Peola Johnson/Sarah Jane Johnson, Mary Tilford, Veda Pierce, Rhoda Penmark re. Rees Witherspoon, you should acknowledge Vanessa Lutz the anti-heroine of FREEWAY
Maisie was my fav ❤
Evie Zamora in Thirteen 🎉
Megan fox is hot but Jennifer is my fav now
Um, how come the Babs Jensen character in "National Lampoon's Animal House" isn't brought up in this video? I imagine some people will think that the Mandy Pepperidge character in "Animal House" should have been brought up as well even though...
There's mean then theres plain evil. Some of these girls were killers 😭
Yes thirteen!!!
What about Jessica Spencer From The Hot Chick
lana, banana, fontana XD
Regina George, Claire from the Breakfast Club, the crew from Jawbreaker, and the Heathers. I was surprised that the Jawbreaker crew called a group of anoxeric girls the Karen Carpenter table. I know it's a comedy, but damn.
I wouldn't really consider Claire to be a classic mean girl, since her group force her to be mean to the less popular kids, much to her reluctance. And yes, the Karen Carpenter joke was always supposed to come across as mean spirited, in keeping with the dark comedy, but really hasn't aged well.
@@trinaqI kind of interpret her that way although we don't see her bully other students since the movie is on a Saturday detention. However, she does admit that she's spoiled.
I don't think Claire is a mean girl. Not to the degree other girls in this list are. You can't compare her with the likes of Heather Chandler or Regina George. It's mostly peer pressure with her. And the fact is she falls for the musfit of the group the second her friends are not around
I disagree with the Hilary Faye person, when the new girl shows up. It is the new girl who is the bully and tries to insight and torment Hilary Faye, I think she even assaults her during a volleyball game too. Hilary cracked after being tormented.
Happy to say I have seen none of these in their entirety.
Then why comment?
@@kamsismith because I wanted to.
Is Mandy Moore the only actress featured twice on this list? 😄😄
Disclaimer: top 30 mean girls in movies. Not on TV nor musical.
it really doesn’t feel fair to include evie from thirteen in this list just by the nature of the movie
Where is Denise Richards as Kelly Van Ryan In WILD THINGS ...
Nancy downs should be up way higher than Regina George lol
Now the only mean girl I would not stand up against is Nancy (Craft )
I would love to have had a guy make mixed CD'S for me i think it's sweet to me if your man makes you mixed CD'S it shows that he has a genuine interest in your music and you as a person in general
Do a video called cancellled Nintendo video games
Mean but tame compared to annie wilkes from misery or nurse ratched from one flew over the cuckoos nest , nellie from little house on the prairie was also evil , in real life the female ss guards in concentration camps were the embodiment of true sadistic evil and they paid for it with their lives
Great movies. Haven't (yet) seen The Baby-Sitters Club 1995 and The Clique 2008. Got over half on DVD or BD. I don't remember any mean girls from my experience as an exchange student at Cordova Senior High in California. Maybe I just didn't hang out with the "right" students. One mean student back in northern Europe was a socialist, who got very upset when I compared her campagne against factories polluting the air with her polluting my air in the student cafeteria with her cigaret. Typical mean girl hypocrisy.
Tracy Flick was the victim of an older man and should not be vilified.
That movie had a gray on gray morality. Tracy had other problems that added to the comedy. Even as a victim of an older man, McCallister had some good points about her.
What about Azula she is the cold hearted
They said movies
You forgot Cecelia from aquamarine
Joanna "JJ" Clark should be on this list, she was always mean to Marni.
Oh yeah from the movie You Again. I love that movie . You start off not liking "JJ" but at the end you end up liking her. The "redeemable" mean girl if you will lol.
@@ashleywingwood201 How about Tina from Bring it On 2 (she yelled at Monica during the tryouts and underestimated Whittier) and Winnie from Bring it On: All or Nothing (she used her jealousy towards Britney in order to be a head cheerleader, fatshamed Brianna, being bossy to Sierra and being racist to Crenshaw Heights cheerleaders after the crumping routine)
❤❤🎉
Where is Blair??? Like most mean girl in history
Because it says movies and not tv shows
So many of these aren't mean girls at all. How bad can you guys continue to be?
Do me to show only caucasian girls?
Anyone who SAYS they're filled with christ's love actually isn't!
U forgot Brittany from the In crowd
Yeah! She should have definitely been included! Conniving, vindictive, manipulative, lying psycho killer. She killed her number one friend just because she clued in her new friend about how Britney really is. A non redeemable mean girl!
Killing her sister, Sandra as well of Adrian's therapist and her inner circle friend, Kelly...yeah, it's might be on the another list.
Where is Blair Waldorf ?
because the title says in movies not tv shows, learn to read
Broken home? Really? In 2024 we are still using that against people?
It's a relevant barrier in 2024
@melissabarbosa-gx7np no it isn't. Coming from a broken home should not be used against someone
😮😱😰
Mean Girl = Karen
It's a shame that the Princess Diaries had its own storyline and didn't follow the plot of the books. (SPOILER if you haven't read them) That's where Lana ends up being Mia's friend and Lilly is the bad guy.
I like Mandy Moore better when she’s voicing Rapunzel instead of playing a mean girl in The Princess Diaries.
