Homeowner Maiso Jackson has lived in his home for 20 years, and he’s owned his gun for the last eight. He's taken lessons on how to handle that firearm. Early this morning, that training was put into action.

Not in blue cities, where criminals are the "victims".
@Caitlyn A Not legally. He was defending when inside his house. Once he went outside to confront him, he stopped being the defender under the law. Both are considered to be aggressors, and since he shot and killed the "intruder" before he actually entered the house, that removes the castle doctrine defense. Both men were armed, but he was already in a safe place then decided to leave it and confront the guy he shot. He should have stayed in the house and retained all the legal protections that entailed. Going outside removed them all. He had no legal grounds to kill the man simply to protect his property, which is what he did. He wasn't in imminent danger until he put himself in it.

I agree, but the homeowner went outside his house with a gun to confront the intruder, meaning it probably won't be considered self-defense since Detroit is run by liberals.

the police did the right thing in a situation where *they did not have all the facts.* all they knew was that someone had been murdered who was allegedly trying to break into the property. they can't just take someone at their word without properly investigating what happened.
Imagine being handcuffed and hauled to jail for defending your life.
It has to stop!
Bro is the freaking protocol. Do you expect the cops to just trust the guy and make no further investigations?
The home owner did everything right! He purchased his weapon. He also went through proper TRAINING (can’t stress that enough) to know how to use his firearm and get familiar with it. He warned the intruder. He was put in an unfortunate situation, but resorted to a quick precise decision to defend himself by using deadly force. I hope all is well moving forward for this gentleman. Hopefully, that sends a message to others that might have a thought of running up on a person’s home.
It doesn't matter you should use different tools like a taser versus a firearm. Shooting people is not the damn answer. It's so hick. And distasteful. No compassion whatsoever it's what's wrong with America....
