Just standard procedure until they figure out what's going on...being detained is NOT the same as being arrested, being taken to jail, or catching a charge. You sound like the type that would trip about LEOs handcuffing subjects they just shot because you can't be bothered to research/learn why that procedure is STANDARD in a combat situation. I opened my door, and the eyes I seen terrified me. Then he just walked in my house. I was like 'Oh shit, boy done gone bat shit crazy and is in my house. He must leave now." So I ran outside with my phone and he followed me. I was able to call 911, and the cop who came, knew him well. He also just heard his GF died suddenly. So he asked if he felt he wanted to hurt himself. He said "I just want to sleep, like Aimee." So he agreed to go to the hospital with the officer. That was the last time I seen him.
