Old Rusty Cleaver Knife Restoration
Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project! Few months I bought this interesting and rare cleaver. I never seen before that model of knife. It's very small cleaver. Well, restore time has come!
Restoration process:
I removed handle via screw driver and piles.
I used electrolysis to removed main layers of rust.
I used anglegrinder machine to removed patina and some deep dents.
To correct the cleaver head saw I used files only.
For polishing cleaver surface I used sandpapers and polishing while.
Handle I made from oak and I used brass rivets.
For special stand scabbard I used bog oak. Final step was olive oil impregnation. And finally, made test for you.
I hope you will enjoy this restoration video.
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

I believe Restoration Guy is an excellent and thorough lover.
Nice kitchen slicer!
your editing is excellent, just the essential, building up a video that shows everything and doesn't go on for ages! I wish more people here on youtube did this. excellent as always!
Thank you so much sir! ^_^
The teeth on the spine of the blade look fantastic. Well done.
Cleaning serrations is always a pain😅. Looks great ✨️🔪✨️👍
Beauty restoration ! Nice video ! Paula from Argentina.
That is how you are supposed to refurbish a clever. I see so many do a cursarary sanding of the blade and let all the pits, scratches and dings stay. And it looks like an old used clever instead of something you would want to actually use. Thumbs Up!
Facinating work men !!
The teeth in the spine is for cut bones. Very cool cleaver knife ! I like it ! Good vídeo. Congratulations ! J.H. 🇩🇰
Wow it turned out Beautifully
Great work!
Craftsman!!
Good Restoration Done 👌 Thumbs up 👍 👏 👏
Really nice job. I like that you left the handle in its natural lighter colour too 👌
beautiful job 🙌🏼
GREAT JOB!!!! beautiful Cleaver.
Very clean look..and the block holder is a great touch. Beautiful!!!
Very nice, love how it came out. The stand is an awesome idea as well. I could see putting magnets in the stand and mounting it for easy safe storage.
My new favorite I think. Amazing job very clean.
I like the wooden sheath.
Great Job! I love little cleavers like this, I modify them into tall utility style knives, like a tiny Chinese Vegetable Cleaver. My most used knife is a petty Cleaver like this I thinned out to a flat grind and sharpened up. Such a joy to use.
Great finish on the blade 👍 😁👌👏
Excellent restoration
Excellent
Amazing work my friend! Thanks for your work. I need it. Keep going 👏👍
You are blessed and super talented. Continue keeping up the hard work
Congratulations from Brazil 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Another great project - came out fantastic
I would buy that blade in a heartbeat. Excellent work. The block is a creative and useful piece as well
That thing looks awesome, made me wanna get started on mine asap 👌🏼
Great work. I especially liked the mirror finish on the blade, as well as the idea for the block holder. You could even fit it on the ridged back in order to make a controlled push cut without getting hurt by the spines.
I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for posting these. It is always nice to see something restored. Keep up the good work!
Nice restoration. Good. I learned. The holder also new work. Thanks. India.
Another great restoration! That cleaver is a great size for the kitchen counter.
Another great video my friend. Keep up the good work and stay safe.

Just wanted to say Your videos are helping me make knives as we speak thank you !

Great work my friend! 👏
super nice job. like the holder thing too. seems a convenient size for a lot of kitchen work.
Thank you so much! Yes, Yesterday I used in in my kitchen for cut fish and vegetables.
@@ScrewsAndTools to help you with your English, I'll correct that sentence. "Yes, yesterday I use it in my kitchen to cut fish and vegetables." or "for cutting fish and vegetables. It's the small nuances that elude you, but you're always understood, so it's still pretty good.
Great job. Perfect choice on the linseed oil. Hope you and your family are well. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much!
One of your best! Love the tapered handle and that you showed the edge work. Blade was tempered already I guess?
Hello thank you for attention. Yes you're right sir.
Ficou perfeito!!🇧🇷👏👏👍👍
Buen cuchillo amigo Saludos desde españa 🇪🇸 👍👍👍👍
Hola buen video... Podrías hacer una navaja para afeitar... Con esta cuarentena estoy muy barbudo
Nice little job matey, I enjoyed the video. But I couldn't help noticing that your vice could do with a clean up. LOL 😁👍
really better than new ....
I’ve seen many of your videos and this is by far the best result. Good job!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful
Very good job it's really clean I really like what you do
Very nice rescue . Being able to put it to work in your kitchen even better . Being able to slice a full water bottle , probably isn't going to come up often , but it's nice to know you can do it if the bottles start a revolution .😁 As always , stay healthy ami .
Once again, I love watching you work. I love this finish on the blade my friend. Here in the future I will scrounge up a few things to send to you to restore. Stay safe buddy
Thank you so much Cory! Stay safe and wish you good luck!

As usual : Nice !!!
Your adept use of hand tools always amazes me.
V good restoration
Very cool knife
Mans best blade
The stand idea in inspired! Excellent 🧡 I see (or hear) that we are now getting the full ninja sounds when 'Test Time Has Come' 😊 @10:40
Thank you so much! ^_^
thanks for the video
Awesome restoration! And your English has improved amazingly
Agradeço o vídeo!

Cleavers are a fun tool
¡Gracias!
Cool as always)
btw I'm trying to binge all your videos randomly so that's why random comments an likes sorry
perfekt work
Thanks!
The traditional Georgian banana cleaver!
hahaha))
😍🔥The restoration work is very complicated and very detailed✔️🔥🔥
Nice. Someone had some small hands.
I miss that 2nd component on the handle but good job.
Wow 😲😍🔥 that is a very rusty and very old knife, incredible✔️🔥🔥
Ka-Bar cleaver
hah)))
👍
Any chance you can test the knife before you restore them 😊
Interesting idea.
👑👍
Just curious, why not try and reuse the wooden handle? Was the wood too far gone? Or just your choice?
Hello, thank you for attention. Good question. First it's problem with geometry of handles, that old handles most of them curved and cracked from a large amount of moisture and also dirt, dust and rust strongly ingrained in them. Of course you I can try to restore, but the chance is extremely small. Thank you for advice and I will try someday to do it at least once.
11:25 ✔️🔥🔥The knife is just like new, very cool video restoration, you're so great😍🔥🔥
waw it`s cutting rope
Great job as always but the cleaver looks to me as something you would cut a block of cheese with.
08:32 🔥🔥😍✔️Wow, the knife's so sharp, it's amazing✔️😍🔥🔥
