  • This is why headbutts need to be illegal. Machida's knee may never recover from such devastating injuries.

    • Lyoto is simply one of the smartest warriors there is . Never seen Machida ?? Hey, he was a former Light Heavyweight Champion! He simply outsmarted Chael!! Ha ha ha .. Too many attempts to justify a defeat.. Chael is all stength.. lacking in gray matter.. He never learned, and kept charging forward without any "feints" at all . His footwork was lousy and was awfully slow and there was an OBVIOUS lack of strategy.. Chael was overly predictable ! He needs to learn to be like Pacquiao and Machida- lots of planning, strategies and speed bro!! Knees and hands are the same .. They heal given time and proper nutrition.

However, he’s been a mixed martial artist for 2 decades and never learned how to throw a punch. If he had higher fight IQ maybe he would have developed more as a striker and not got beat up so much. • Chael... I really am gonna miss you fight. You always delivered on fight day. You promised you’d be there and give it your all and you always did. You never lied and said you’re going to try and “knock him out” when you had no plans of doing that. You always told the truth that you were gonna “go across the mat punch him in the face, take him down and beat him up for 15 mins.” Sometimes you prevailed and some times you failed but I knew what I was in for when I tuned into a Chael Sonnen fight. Thanks man. Really, thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
