Just passed my security + last Saturday thanks proffesor messer.
Congratulations
LETS GOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
get the CSA+ if you can, much better.
Question for you man, what other certs do you have to get before the security+?
@@pat72396 IT guy since the 80's. A+ only if it is required where you are trying to get a job, they are useless otherwise. If you doing IT security or just Networking in general, Security+ is ok but CSA+ is much better. Security+ is just basic stuff and mostly has ZERO value unless it is a requirement. CCNA and MSC variant are generally the best for Network. Learn Linux as well as Server 2012 or up. VM's are big, understand them and use them. Experience beats Certs if you have it. If not, CCNA and CSA+ show you know networking protocols and a good bit about real security. CEH is also good if going into the security field. My 2 cents based on 30 years in IT.
I'm in IT for my company. One day someone at one of our locations got fed up with the time it took to order stuff through us and have it shipped to him, so he bought a bunch of printers off the back of some random dude's truck and asked us to put them on our network. He wasn't pleased when I told him that only company-owned devices can go on the secure network.
Stuxnet was incredible in it's depth and complexity. Also shows why air gaps aren't fool proof.
Speaking of shadow IT.. I work for a large company. Needed a driver. IT told me to just apply for permanent elevated privileges and install it myself... lol
IT is sloooooow when it comes to request, just do it yourself I say. lol.
that actually bad move, as IT support i wont let my users have admin privileges for their computer. also i dont care wheter they need it urgently or not lol. IT security policy is mandatory. if they need anything like that, i will give them alternative solution that will not breach the security policy.
Passed my security plus on my first attempt (501) in 2021 with a 785. It expired, now I'm retesting this Friday for the 601 and I'm so nervous all over again.
