Hi, my name is Derek Krahn and I'm the Operations Director for the Center for Animal Research and Education (CARE), a non-profit big cat sanctuary in Texas. That's where I got the idea for the name, 'BigCatDerek'. As you can probably already tell, I'm not that creative.
I've been working with big cats for over ten years, and I consider these big fuzzy beasts to be my dear friends. Most of my content is lighthearted, unscripted, and minimally edited dialogue in the CARE compound, meaning I like to walk around and talk to myself while I film my big cat friends.
I guess I do vlogs, but I'm not very 'vloggy', if that makes any sense. That's not to say that I have anything against more 'vlogier' vloggers or that my style of un-vloggy vlogging is superior to more 'vloggy' vlogging. I'm just trying to say that my inherent sense of vloginess is what it is.

It's all pretty simply because a baby will never pose a threat to anyone, they are so small and helpless, the only thing that provokes is what you want to protect, they just come to the world, they don't have malice, they don't try to lower you to the boyfriend or girlfriend, they don't they will steal money or try to kill you, you will not make yourself feel less in any way, everything babies do is unconscious and innocent, in fact even their tantrums give tenderness, well, among other things, that's why everything is nice when we are babies ...

Three years later this was still fun to re-watch! Spoiler alert - they're much bigger now!
We had a hard time at first with a farm tabby kitten (we are Canadian) that was obviously part bobcat with the large tufted ears and colouring. We got her as a shelter cat, difficult to be adopted because she was so wild, but my husband and I bonded with her immediately. We named her Sammy and we three became a family. She followed us everywhere, even walking in the park without a harness, and she loved car rides, watching the outside world with fascination. My husband called her, jokingly, an appendage, because she had to be next to us or curled up on us. I would put her on my shoulder and we would dance together to music. Like a dog she had to be in the same room with us and she talked with a loud, almost Siamese voice, letting us know her opinions, though we could never figure out what on earth she was saying as we did not speak cat. When we had guests she would put on her best behaviour and win them over. Definitely different from any cat we have ever encountered. She is gone now and we miss her so... I think it is the wildness in her that made her stand out from most domestic cats.

Not even that long, I believe at two years they can be dangerous. However this is a rescue sanctuary and they are now in their adult enclosure.
The exotic cats are not dangerous, if you take care of them from infancy. Hence develop a trustful and harmonious relationship with the animal. There are many examples of this.
Well wild animals like lions and Monkeys are not supposed to be pets. Unless they can't be released back into their natural habitat. Then they go to a sanctuary like C.A.R.E Texas. But if the animal needs super special care than they can be adopted by a human that can care for the said animal. But still these creatures are not pets they are ambassadors.

Rahul Singh I know you are trying to be funny, but No they won’t. This is a rescue sanctuary. The mother gave birth to them at another sanctuary but she rejected them. Since they were born in captivity and around humans, they can not be released into the wild. When they are big enough, about six months, they will go to a larger enclosure out on the compound. If you go to the link you can find out about the facility and their other residents. Many were raised from babies, so they have had years of experience. The professionals at this facility will care and love them for the rest of their lives.
