@@fvgc454ss actually RDA is a LW and was ranked in WW exactly 3 fights after he won to Kevin Lee, an other LW tbh and went down to LW after 2 losses to Edwards and Chiesa. So Leon’s winning streak is full of fighters who are unranked in WW or not even a real threat in the division. RDA, Cerrone, Barbarena, Nelson... the only real WW he was able to beat was Luque back in 2017. Not mention that mostly fights went to boring decision. Even after 2 years of ducking real WW he decided to fight a guy ranked #15 to get title shot. I guess that is why no one respects Leon.

Usman v Covington 2 is the real fight. I like Jorge but I don’t understand how he or Nate became the money fight. Jorge is a journeyman fighter who made a recent resurgence by knocking out an old immobile Ben Askrin who needed a hip replacement. That argument just shows how great GSP is. He was the champion for so long that MMA evolved while he was champ and even with those improvements he was still levels above everyone. To sustain a title reign for as long as GSP is a bigger deal than people realise. It's not just a number, it's a measurement of how long you were able to grow and evolve yourself to keep up with the changes and demands of the sport which is something that only the truly elite can do. It's too soon to say if Usman is at that same level

DC is right. Sports are constantly evolving, the standard of athletes rises. New technology, new training regimes, new tactics, new ideas etc etc. People are constantly trying to revolutionize the way it's done to get an upper hand on their opponents, and then their opponents catch on and they try to counter what's being done and then hopefully implement it themselves and just like that another rung to the ladder has been added which sets the standard even higher, and on and on it goes. A perfect example is FC Barcelona in the early 2010's, they set a before and after in soccer/football with a dominant possession style. Now everyone, to a certain extent, values possession a lot more. No teams just smash the ball upfield any more. Any ways, yeah. Everything is changing and improving.

People really sleeping on Jorge. Has crazy fight experience. About quadruple Usman's. I'm calling Masvidal and don't call me casual. Been with the sport for years and I'm calling him in confidence because I think he will have proper preparation and TKO Usman. Usman can win but I'm not going for that. People hate when anyone says "when he has proper preparation" with Masvidal or Conor, but it's really just true. He may had been training but only 6 weeks to cut weight and be conditioning. That's very tough. Imagine he has a proper camp and has decent gas tank. Think he sleeps the champ.
The +1mil PPV buys on UFC251, was part due to the hype around journeyman. But more importantly it was the first card on fight island, that generated hype, there were 2 more title fights (Holloway has bigger fan base than both usman and masvidal) the card was really good overall. We shouldn't just attribute the PPV buys to the main event in this case. I feel bad for wonderboy, they should do wonderboy vs leon and masvidal vs colby or leon vs colby and wonderboy vs masvidal 2 would be good too.

His jab is way better than GSP's. The reason why you haven't seen him ragdoll and bully people on the ground is because they were elite wrestlers and grapplers. GSP never fought anybody on that level, which is why he was able to grind out safe decision wins. No disrespect to GSP but Usman has already beaten better cometition and he just beat his streak.
@@AWesker99 GSP has the greatest jab ever to grace the octagon. He won multiple fights with his Jab. Usman might probably be the slightly better wrestler but GSP is an elite wrestler too and his ji jitsu is one the best ever in UFC. I wouldn’t say usman is bigger or stronger at all, he is compared to the rest of the welterweight division rn and he’s elite but GSP also has superhuman strength and would easily have avoided the takedowns and being held up against the cage in his prime. This GOAT stuff is thrown around way too easily nowadays by fans who have only started watching MMA and UFC within the last 5 years. Usman is certainly on his way there but he still has a long way to go. There’s a reason everyone calls out George for a fight because they’re recognise he is on the best to ever do it and in my eyes he is the best. Usman has beaten some great welterweights like colby and burns. But masvidal is massively overrated and no ones seen enough of edwards at the highest level. There’s no one else really at welterweight. GSP went through killers multiple times whilst a lot of them were on steroids, and if anyone says they weren’t killers, then they need to go back and watch those fighters

Usman is 19 fights in with 3 title defenses in 2 years and he's already beaten GSP's win streak. He's beaten all but one of the top guys, and nobody realistically poses a legitimate threat to him now. You think old man Wonderboy can beat him? Chiesa? Magny? Nope. The only thing Usman needs is some polishing to smooth out the edges and give him a more fluid game, which comes naturally with time and experience. He easily has another 3-4 years at the top. He is clearly in the GOAT conversation right now, but if he reigns longer than GSP what else can you call Usman but the GOAT?

Colby vs Usman is the way to go. Colby gave him his toughest fight yet. It was 2-2, 1-3, 3-1 going into the 5th. Colby landed a lot of good body kicks, one of which hurt him. Plus the pace was insane.
