It's odd but true that Lions do behave that way because they need to identify what is invading their imaginary space called a territory. Anything they instinctively cannot dominate, Lions would have no choice but to leave it be even in its own territory. Add some cubs in play, then that turns around really quickly!

Lions hardly attack humans even when walking alone. Man commands certain respect from the animal kingdom. Avoid eye contact and avoid animals with babies. Also Lions know that humans are not their food. In some cultures if a person is attacked by a wild animal they say he had done something wrong and animal.can smell it. The place my grandpa was allocated land was deeply forested and he would encounter many wild animals like hynrs and cheetahs but they could follow him home but not attack.. Also animals have brains avoid aggression.

Lions also perceive trees as part of their natural environment. They also do not hunt trees. But if you climb the tree they would climb up and get you. They could also climb up the vehicle and get you. The real reason why they don't is because the car is actually scary and does not look like natural at all - it roars, it moves but to them it's more like a rock and there usually are more than one human on it. If you were a single man sitting in that open car while not moving you would be dead as soon as they acclimate to the strange object which is a car.

Think of it this way: a small wildcat wouldn’t dare attack a bird that’s perched on top of a Cape buffalo; a large animal that is extremely dangerous when even mildly irritated. But if the bird hops off the buffalo and flies down to the ground, *then* the cat knows it can pounce on it without risk of triggering a buffalo attack.
@zibzis14367 ай бұрын
No I think you are all wrong. Including the guy in the video. Lions view humans as a major threat. They are almost extinct because of humans so it must be true. The only lions that are left alive are the ones that view humans as dangerous. But when humans are on vehicles, they really perceive it as one giant beast. Not a bunch of humans on a magic chariot. But a curious lion can easily figure things out. And making it obvious to the lions is a bad idea. Like standing up and waving or getting out of the vehicle and other dumb ideas.

I believe they don’t see it as one single large beast, they do see multiple bodies with heads and eyes on them, meaning they see many prey on a weird roller thingy that transports them everywhere. But you are right about the detaching from the “herd” part, if it is an easy meal, they’ll go for it’s so it only takes a sucker to stand up and implicate the rest. I also like to think that in the beginning, where they first introduced safari vehicles, the first generation lions tried to attack the humans on it but failed because the driver and guide would sense or see the preying start and would drive off before they could catch them. So maybe after multiple times of trying to hunt these people on the vehicles, they gave up because they’re too fast. Once each generation of newborn cubs begin, the babies start to notice that their parents are not going after the vehicles or expressing much interest in the people in it, hence they too just treat it as a passer-by. So after the passing of many generations, they kinda accepted it as visitors to that area. I also think the vehicle looks weird in an animal’s perspective, it doesn’t gallop, trot or run but rolls away and the humans do not look like they have lower bodies or fully standing bodies so I dunno, maybe looks less like a prey to tackle? Like sort of a weird prey, so why go for the weird prey when you can just go about hunting for the ones you usually hunt? These are just some stuff I randomly think about, of course these are just guesses, please don’t take them seriously. I’m telling a story not a fact 😅
@LilacMist7 ай бұрын
I like your theory😂😅
@CanariasCanariass6 ай бұрын
...the fact is actually very easier than what you and they may state/guess/prove: lions simply are not interested in human's meat, as they are not in Hyens' or many others' after all...of course they may kill us if feel threatened (or also for some ravange issue)...but never seen us as a prey; I don't agree with the theory of 'large beast' because they hunt elephants as well which are enormously bigger, yet lions are brave enough to give it a try....well, if they are considered as the simbol of courage it should be for a valid reason I assume...

I was on safari for the first time in August this year. Although I grew up in uganda, I was very scared of wild animals. I can tell you, it was the best experience of my adult life. No video or photo gives you the feeling of being in nature. We were so close to the animals and saw locals walking past Lions, Buffalo and other animals without being attacked. I will definitely visit other game reserves.
It is beautiful but I am surprised by the absence of protection in these vehicles .
Say what you want, I will never be a passenger in any of those vehicles! 😂
I went on safari in tsavo national park and they told me the same thing…”Whatever you do, do not leave the vehicle because lions think the vehicle is an animal but the moment you exit the vehicle they think you’ve gotten off of your beast and you are now fair game.”
It's great to have this confirmed toooo😂😂😂😂😂
While you're on your not supposed to make eye contact and move around, anything that makes you look like an individual instead of part of one big animal
Thanks for that info.
So if you have to pee, you are going home with wet pants I guess
But don't lions hunt animals?
I always assumed they saw safari vehicles as a mobile vending machine
This is hilarious 😅
😂😂😂😂😂
I think they know it's a machine and don't want to attack so many humans sitting together
@@delthonygordon704true
Yes they do. There are plenty of attacks
I always think it's because they don't fear us, they fear the consequences of murking a single human based on experience
There’s always going to be that one crazy, suicidal lion that’s going to attack anyways
When I lived in South Africa as a kid, we were told not to open the windows on our vehicle by any means, because there had been cases of lions pulling out humans.
WOW
I mean what do you expect 😂 your playing with fire getting even near these beast let alone leaving your window wide open for him to hop in, sure they’re cute to an extent but they’re still a predator at the end of the day, so I’d prefer not to become his lunch in process 😅
@@AHPcameron Yea bruh, I'm pretty sure the person from South Africa doesn't need your advice on this one.
They attack people in normal cars it is strange. The lioness that killed that lady. Or the stupid old man who got out of the car to take pictures and was eaten in front of his wife and kids.
@@noconaroubideaux9423😂😂😂😂😂

I want to know which brave person interviewed these lions to come to such a conclusion 👀 I also want to see the lions interview!
Zebras: Hold our beer.
Park ranger: Stay in the car. Lion: Yeah. Listen to your park ranger.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lions DO respect the park ranger, which is why they don’t hang out making campfires in the dry season… or the wet season. Never mind! Do what the ranger said.
That one hungry lion: Don't listen to the park ranger
Lions ain't stupid. They can see every single person sitting in the car.
How they interpret it is what makes them effectively stupid.
No one said they didnt see them

Animal psychology is one interesting subject. It’s so drastically different from human psychology.
Thanks for that! Something to know. 😮
Absolutely right, I think they have the intelligence not to mess with a group of Humans who can wipe their existence as revenge 😂😂😂😂
Yeah, I was thinking the same.
This explanation makes way more sense than the video.
Maybe but if it was such a scary creature to them they wouldn't linger around it. Also, I saw a video of a cheetah getting inside one safari car. It smelled people, stayed for a minute and left.
@@tac7826we smell bad😆!
It’s because they’re afraid of the camera man. Remember, he never dies.
🥱
They're afraid the camera man will post the video on social media and get them cancelled
What an annoying comment I’ve seen on millions of videos. You must not be knowing about the mount erebus disaster or even the recent Nepal airplane crash.

Lions attacking a human means they lose their job, benefits, housing. Just isn't worth it.
What about a Safari vehicle full of impala?! 🤔 Will that perspective change?

Funny😂
Good one 😂😅😊

That's the best one I've heard all day LOL.
You are right 😂
I still wouldn't go on a safari because I feel like it's playing with fire 🔥
I mean, as long as you follow what the tour guide says, you should be fine. Still, stuff will happen unexpectedly so be careful
@shamarprather9210 exactly! A tour guide cannot revive me if the wild life is feeling froggy.
I would go in a fully enclosed vehicle.
@@guttagutta420 I would also. abut it has to be a large enjoy vehicle that an elephant would not be able to flip over if he got pissed off

A good way of saying 'keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times'
🤣
It’s also why you don’t see gazelles driving land rovers.
Even with all these explanations i would not even try to tour the forest😂😂
Animals are not stupid. They know that you are on a vehicle and not a part of it 😊
I think they know it, they are just afraid of the group of humans together
Nah man, they are stupid otherwise why they can't evolve to be smart as us?
Think of it this way: a small wildcat wouldn’t dare attack a bird that’s perched on top of a Cape buffalo; a large animal that is extremely dangerous when even mildly irritated. But if the bird hops off the buffalo and flies down to the ground, *then* the cat knows it can pounce on it without risk of triggering a buffalo attack.
@@sagnorm1863 Animals have a sense of smell you know. They can tell an organic object from an inorganic one, plus they live long enough to know and see how humans move and operate 🚕
I like your theory😂😅
...the fact is actually very easier than what you and they may state/guess/prove: lions simply are not interested in human's meat, as they are not in Hyens' or many others' after all...of course they may kill us if feel threatened (or also for some ravange issue)...but never seen us as a prey; I don't agree with the theory of 'large beast' because they hunt elephants as well which are enormously bigger, yet lions are brave enough to give it a try....well, if they are considered as the simbol of courage it should be for a valid reason I assume...
so it's just like "they don't attack until theu decided to attack" ?? Would've be the same with Orcas??
Also, I wonder if they discover that humans taste like crap and their strange 'fur' gets stuck in your throat. I imagine a lion gaging on a guys hat, thinking "Screw this. Humans are not worth it."
@@skepticusmaximus184that's dark bruh💀......😅

Rhinos and Elephants have been documented to work over a vehicle now and then. Cheetahs have been known to use vehicles as a higher vantage point by standing on their hoods.

At least, not on the window seat, lol. Maybe if I'm scrunched between others.
