New Orleans is not a city to disappoint when it comes to street racing. This was our second time at "Da Pad" - one of the most notorious street spots in the US. It has seen so many races, it's surface is comparable to most drag strips, maybe even better than some. This makes for some of the best street racing in the country, complete with wheelies and some FAST passes!

  • Btw guys the foxbody that blew the headgasket was called Discustang. The driver of that car died a few weeks ago from covid. So this was probably his last race. I don’t know him personally but he has come to my local 1/8 track a few times. Always a tough racer. Sad to see him go. Rip

  • Looked like there were only like 4 guys really set up to make a car go down the street. People forget that the most important part is making sure it goes down the track(or street). That Firebird especially understands the weight transfer aspect

    • Traction Control in some form or another I would guess. As soon as he gets off the brake the tyres rotate perfectly, barely any slip.. And suspension that almost self levels while keeping the car a few degrees nose up attitude the whole way down. Look at the wheels as they go over bumps, micro reactions to absorb the bumps , but none of that transfers to the chassis, the car stays at a near perfect weight transfer angle. Nothing about this is luck, he understands vehicle dynamics - whatever the parts are, they work together well as a package.
