I am a retired RCMP Officer living in a rural setting in Nova Scotia, Canada. I spend my time enjoying nature and feeding my furry friends, the raccoons. I also feed the deer in the winter months and many varieties of birds. I have two rescue cats named Connor and Charlotte.

I am a retired Police Officer from South Georgia now living in Australia. Last November I was diagnosed with colon cancer. Surgery, colostomy, chemo. I am so sorry you are travelling this path. The surgery is hard, the chemo is hard, life is not the same afterwards, but you do feel better once that tumour is out. It’s a journey, but one step at a time. Praying for you my brother.

If you and this guy didn't eat so much meat you wouldn't have gotten colon cancer. Red meat consumption hugely elevates your risk of multiple cancers but colon cancer especially, to the point that the WHO has classified it as a carcinogen. Many peer reviewed studies on this. Your ass pays the price for your nasty diet. And the raccoons health sure isn't benefiting from eating processed hot dogs either, literally the worst kind of meat.

From one Raccoon caregiver here on the Raccoon Ranch to another raccoon caregiver, Jim I think you will be allright with your health issues because of your love for life and giving love to your beautiful Raccoons, I am 83 years of age and like you I was sticken with colon issues that took 5 surgries to get me up and running, that was 6 years ago, at 80 I bought me a Harley Davidson to celebrate my life, my beautiful wife of 33 years helped me to stay alive,,I said goodbye to her this past Feburary and she is still helping me to live from high above,, God bless you Jim

Yes my sister in law had stage 4 colon cancer and it’s been 18 years and she is doing great. She called me the water police because I made her drink lots of water.

I am so saddened to hear of this news, but medicine is now so far advanced - I am a cancer survivor from 1978- I had two melanomas.Watching your posts during the shut down, you gave so many people joy and they learned about compassion and the hard life that wild urban animals endure. I feed raccoons in my back yard in L.A. due to your influence - I feed them chicken hot dogs and doggie kibble, grapes.. - Most of all your loving commentary allowed us to see into your heart. Stay strong- the worst will be over soon. Love and respect to you Jim...

Im a pastor in western NY with my own racoon herd. My heart breaks for you guys. Im gonna send you a prayer cloth, just a small piece of fabric that our congregation has prayed over, we have witnessed enormous miracles by doing this. Terminal cancer healed, tumors dissolved people with no hope of survival miraculously healed. Jesus is still in the miracle business, i promise. Put your faith and trust in him. It truly is heartbreaking to see the discomfort and pain on your face jim sending you continued well wishes during these trying times of yours.
I was facing some health issues. My doc said "You are still here!". So dont give up. He needs to go in sooner than August. Prayers.

My husband had a tumor (gist) 7 years ago and he just passed away from cancer this last October.He really loved to watch your videos for last five years. We have a card from you on the wall. Whatever happens Mr. Blackwood, I just want to say THANK YOU for all the happiness and joy you've brought to literally millions of people all over the world, myself included. You are a legend and I wish you the very best.
I had bleeding out and they could not find it. Then they did a capsule endoscopy and found the reason. What you do is swallow a small camera and it takes pictures on the way down . The hematologist recommended this test after all others failed. I had months of infusions of iron with blood going up and down. Sorry you going through this it is never easy when you don't feel well. Will be praying for a good outcome and a full recovery. Jim has helped so many people for so long and now it will be people helping him as well as you Angie. God Bless you both and may Gods goodness and strength carry you forward on this journey. 🙏🙏💌

Yep fight as hard as you can and don’t give up. Main thing is DRINK A LOT LOT LOT OF WATER! It flushes all the chemicals from chemo out and you will feel a lot better.
Just saw this video. I am 50y old, living in Peru , South America. Had 3rd stage breast cancer 5y ago. I know it's a difficult path , but God lives in your kind - raccoon lover heart and will be by your side on every step you take until you recover. Been randomly watching videos here and there for 3/4 months since the KZhead rabbit hole shared your biggest video. Where the 30 raccoons turned up. My wife never had seen a racoon before. She only saw one in the movie Guardian's of the Galaxy. Then one day she was just surfing the web and came across you channel. She got so excited. "JAMES!" She yelled "Come quick" As I approach her she said with a big grin. "LOOK!" Those things are real! Real Rocket racoon's!" I smiled and politely said. "Actually there's no Rocket. Their just called racoon's." She has been a fan for about a year now? Best of luck with the surgery. Mrs. Bond can't wait to see you back out there feeding all your friends. Oh Jim ! I'm sorry that you are having such health problems. My mother has just been diagnosed with dementia. Getting older is really hard on ourselves. You've been so kind caring for the animals. I know it's hard to not be hable to care for them like you usually do. Thankfully you have people in your life to help you care for them and keep everyone updated. You and your raccoons are in my thoughts and prayers. Do your best to keep your chin up.
