EASY way to square up your miter saw to make accurate cuts. Great for Beginners
In this video I use my old Ryobi compound miter saw model TS1340 to demonstrate how to check the saw to see if it is squared up and accurate. I also show how to make adjustments if it is accurate. Checking periodically will help ensure good quality cuts for your projects. You will learn how to make sure your blade is squared up with the saw table and fence and ensure that the fence and table are squared up. This sounds super cool and next level, but its great for beginners! I have made several videos on compound miter saws. The crocodile made me giggle, thanks for an easy hide to sort out my saw
Glad you enjoyed the shop 🐊! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video! I have had the same saw for many years and have put up with a slight misalignment forever. This past week I was making a toddler bed and got frustrated enough to go looking for videos on adjusting it. Your video is concise and my saw and granddaughter are happy (-:
I am so glad it was helpful! Can't think of anything better than making your granddaughter happy!

Thank you so much for this video. I just set up a WEN saw today and the instructions for checking things were hot garbage. This video has taken a boatload of stress out of the process.

Thank you, yes he is doing well. haha
I’ve had the same ryobi miter saw for 15 years , almost identical to this, and never adjusted it. I noticed lately that it seemed off both vertical and at 45s . I used your video to square it up because I have the exact same positive stops and it worked perfectly. Wanted to stop and say thank you for such a well detailed video! It saved me a massive headache
I am glad it was helpful!
Another well made and instructive video. You rock!

Thank you for this info! Is there a way to tell if my blade is bent? Or what are some indications that it's time for a new one? Thanks in advance!
Watch as the blade the slows down after making a cut. If it wobbles, it may be bent. Also, if you take the blade off and lay it on a flat surface and it doesn't lay flat, then that's an indication it's bent. I wouldn't use it if it's bent. Other indications to get a new blade would be if it's missing teeth or if the cuts aren't as clean and smooth as they used to be. Some blades can be resharpened, but I have done this so I wouldn't know were to go.
When that Milwaukee speed square is laying on its side, it’s not actually 45° because the lip raises the rear.
Thanks for the tip!
Hi there, What is the tool called I need to check? Many thanks :)
Compound miter saw.
I was really surprised how much cutting power (and torque) this saw had out of the box. I've used other (10" saws) previously and was pretty surprised with the speed and cutting ability of this Dewalt saw.I have bolted mine to a table to minimize movement which I highly recommend. This is a Great saw kzhead.infoUgkxPeGkHOMe05FySypTOvYumxMn-xi39oRe with a light to see your cutting line (not a laser line).I'd recommend this saw fro anyone looking to upgrade from a 10" miter saw.
Yes, miter saws are great DIY tools.
Kinda sucks you need 3 different squares to adjust the saw. Now I gotta figure out where that old framing square I've had forever is😅😅😅
😄👍
my saw is off on angle and the fence is bowed. Harbor freight.....
That stinks!
What is this “Buy a thanks” nonsense with different “tip” options 😂🤣 Make me a fkn Sandwich and I’ll leave you a Tip
🥪 Thanks for the tip! 😄
I have a compound miter saw and when I cut it cut at a slight angel on the back side and I have tried to square it up with no success what am I doing wrong
Hard to say without actually seeing the saw in person. Do you have an experienced wood worker friend that could help out?
