These new Lexions are beasts!! A Claas 8700TT just broke a world record bushels of corn harvested in 8 hours and 12 hrs. It was Ormiston Farms in Kismet, KS.
Very cool. I am guessing it broke the record set by a Claas.
@@bigtractorpower I'm not exactly sure. I only know about it because I used to work for Ormiston Farms. Great people!!
@@bigtractorpower yes it was previously set by the 760tt held business world record for most bushels combined in 8, 10, and 12 hrs intervals. It was set previously by the earlier model 760tt
Claas are class, probably manufacture the worlds best harvesting equipment!
That’s John Deere
Lexions are solid machines.
Agreed, from combines to choppers to rigid body tracked tractors and the Big M's, also balers etc. and they've been leading the pack in engineering for most of it too.
@@piperdoug428 Claas doesn’t make the big M
@@Jaxon-iu6vb yeah Ye got me, and Claas don’t even make their big mower anymore 😆
We purchased 2 gleaner s98 combines this December. We run 2 in soybeans and 1 in corn . We have a johndeere 9870sts as well but we did demo a claas 8600 . They are very nice combines with plenty of power. Our biggest problem with claas is that there aren't any dealers near us . For use to get parts or repairs we would have to drive over 2 hours to the nearest dealership. No one in our area runs claas combines either but I'd like to be the first ! We think claas does better in corn than deere case and gleaner. We might lease or even buy one next year if the grain markets are decent enough.
I film all brands of combines. The Gleaner S series by far has the cleanest grain and least loss. These new Claas combines are monsters. If you want to move a bunch of grain in hurry with a quality return the Lexion is hard to beat. The track system really sets the Lexion apart.
@@bigtractorpower we tend to trade combines ever 3 seasons or sooner . We farm 8000 acres between our land and custom farming. Some years we cover 10 to 12 thousand acres with the combines. We like the deere machines but they wear out faster and have a poor corn sample compared to case or gleaner . The gleaners are simple machines that hold up great but they couldn't handle a large head until in the last 6 years or so . Case machines are nice for capacity and corn sample but like deere they wear out fast . We think the claas has the capacity grain sample and wear along with better technology. Only time will tell if we lease a claas but if I get my way we will at least demo one for both corn and soybeans this next fall . We demoed one last fall for a day but it was in corn not soybeans and soybeans are our main crop.
Thanks Jason, that felt as if I was in the Cab of that combine, I can't believe the speed these combines go, that CLAAS would of completed our total harvest in 2 days, the farm I was on as a kid ,they had a Massey Harris and a Massey Fergusson 780 the table was raised by the power off the battery, so needless to say the aggravation that created, when I left school the farm I worked on wasn't much better, it ran an old second hand Ransom. Stay safe God Bless Regards Kevin Fox,England Essex.
It is nice to see a Claas combine in real Claas colour, I draw Claas combine in the old country 35 years ago 🇩🇰🇨🇦
Great video as always claas makes good looking combines!
Cadillac of combines. Nice machine.
Great Vlog, great crops, great combines, I agree with the comments below, claas seem to have made a leap in terms of harvest volume in combines, thanks
Looks like a beast. Can't beat tracks. Awesome video as always Jason!!👍👍
Terra Trac tracks are really good.
Claas I a nice machine just like all there others pay big money and maintain cost is out of the roof great video Jason
The cab was really nice and quiet very impressive combined for sure I think the competition needs to look out for that one
The Lexion is a solid machine and does a nice job quickly.
That's an impressive combine👍😉 it gets the job done very quickly😁👍 Well done👍
a big one, nice work! have a good weekend
Nice footage of the class lexicon! Love your videos!
Thank you for watching.
Impressive. The Claas units seem to have a perceived quality and performance edge. Are they becoming more common in the Midwest?
Claas are good machines. My great grandpa had a really old John Deere.
I like classic combines. 👍👍
@@bigtractorpower My great grandpa is dead though
I like your KZhead channel
Sweeet!!! Massive equipment indeed!!
Thank you for watching.
@@bigtractorpower my pleasure always! Thanks for bringing us great content!
We farm here in South Africa🇿🇦 And we use a Claas lexion 750 to harvest corn and sunflowers with gerringhoff headers. Very happy with its performance and reliability👌
Very cool. What row spacing do you raise corn on?
@@bigtractorpower We grow corn and sunflowers on 30” row spacing but in South Africa we call it 76cm rows.
That wiper in the middle of the wind shield with a power cord from the column would drive me nuts. Surely Claas with all it's engineering skills could do better!😂
The wiper runs 360 degrees around the window. From what I have watched in the cab it works well. It has been a staple of their cab design since 1998.
Yea, that's always been a bit of a pet peeve for farmers, but I think most have gotten to where they can overlook that little flaw...I mean, in all fairness, the wipers do work really well.
I love the Claas , they seem to have power and speed. What is the downside to Claas or any machines you ride in Jason? Thanks, great opening shot!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
The price tag lol
@@tctarheelfarmin358 You get what you pay for
We've had some issues with our lexions in beans. Other than that, solid machines
Fantastic, like it
😁👍👍
We've had claas for over 20 years, we have case ih in our blood but cant see us switching back , had 580r, 760tt, and planning to buy 3 of these 8600tt
very nice video and machine thank you
Thank you for watching.
Muito bom,
Monster machine That combine needs a 60 foot header
We Run a 2011 Claas 750 APS Hybrid Terra Trac but the only downside is that it has the Slower or first generation tracks not the high speed or 2nd gen tracks and that’s the year they started making the tracks I think we harvest 12 rows at a time in corn and 40ft at a time in beans and winter wheat
Essa sim é bruta
Missing the fire extinguisher! 4:03
Don’t you love that new combine smell
It is an impressive machine.
We use a MacDon with a John Deere S780
Considered the class 8 machine has same wide body same grain tank as class 9 8700 hundred. Will out perform the old 760 tt easy.
The MAN D26 diesel (126 mm bore) is 12.4 liters in displacement. It is a close relative to the Maxxforce 13 and the current A26 engine in Navistar trucks. Navistar is now completely owned by Volkswagen which also owns MAN Trucks in Germany.
Hope it’s not too close to the maxxforce 🤦♂️. Traton even owns scania I think. Insane.
@@stirv6462 Traton is using both Scania and MAN engineers to develop engines so they don't duplicate efforts. They are working on a 13 liter Common Base Engine (CBE) to be first installed in Scania trucks in late 2021. They will later be installed in MAN trucks. I'm sure off-road versions will end in combines, tractors, etc.
@@briansmith8385 how do you know all this stuff?
Hello! European light green power!
Hi.

👍✌️
Now I think the US Lexion looks better than ours in EU, most Lexions in EU have smaller rear tires and not the largest grain tank.
Whats up btp
Hi
if someone made a 60' head could you push it?
Yes. They offer 60ft models in Australia right now. In North America 50ft is the largest width at the moment. A rolling field like this would not work too well with a 60ft.
@@bigtractorpower, which parts of North America would be best suited for a 60-foot draper, areas where the fields are level?
I wonder why our South African Claas combine versions have the Perkins engine and not the Mercedes or MAN.
I did not know that. That is interesting. In the North America they used Caterpillar engines through 2019.
If I had to guess it has to do with emissions requirements for certain countries.
Cat owns Perkins if that helps. In the U.S. the partnership with Cat to market Clas is the reason in the US.
@@douglassellers7528 yeah, but Cat doesn't own Claas
Seems to be a very nice piece of equipment; the only thing I'm having a hard time getting used to is the ugly puke green color claas uses. Other than that they have good equipment from what I've seen 👍
If the color bothers you that much I hear they sell spray cans of yellow paint at Lowes
@@Zero01k Really!!!! So immature
@@sharpshooter7127 just imagine it as a Lamborghini SVJ - it looks best in lime green!
I used to have the same line of thinking, but the color grows on ya after a while.
@@Burtocd yeah it took quite a while for the Fendt color too. Guess I'm just used to what I've seen all my life when it comes to farm equipment

The whiper would bother me,
It turns 360 degrees. I should have asked him to turn it on to show how it works.
