Colleen Taylor tours Litmotors HQ with CEO and Founder, Daniel Kim. Litmotors is most widely known for the C-1, a sleek self-balancing fully electric car that is so plugged into the latest digital tech that it purports to function like a "rolling smart phone."
We were able to have some hands-on time with the C-1, which really does make you feel like a real-life Tron character when you climb inside, as well as the Lit Scooter, which is aimed at the developing world.

This looks like a well designed product and the Colleen Taylor tour was well done. A little more info is needed on the gyro, including production cost and energy usage to keep it spinning. That might make the $19,000 price point credible. Also needed is cost of the battery pack. Our price point for the PT (for Personal Tractor) is $5000 in mass production. The battery pack is $400 for an all day, depending etc., operation.

Two heavy gyroscopes and all the ancillary equipment, plus the power drain make this a over elaborate dead end. It needs to be remembered that this is only useful when the vehicle is stopped.

LIT Motors must learn from Tesla and his discontinued roadster model, considering the high cost of electric vehicles the market is currently focused on full size electric cars as it has been demonstrated that customers prefer to invest on full size electric vehicles. This C-1: A two wheel car it could work as a “Shared” transportation service once Self-Driving technology becomes standard; in very congested cities a two wheel electric car could be the best option for a very efficient “Shared” system of transportation if it is allowed to be used in the bike line to get to the City destinations faster than other wider front vehicles.

Good question. They are still trying to get products into the market. Typical problem for entrepreneurs where they overthink a project. Seven years ago the concept was radical. Today, not that much. The selfbalancing act is cool but not URGENT OR NECESSARY.

Sadly, the technology for this was here 20 years ago and never took hold. This is nothing new and if it would have made it, someone would have bought the patents for the original Gyro-Cycle in 1993, replaced the gasoline power-plant with an electrical one and voila! I know these guys think they are on to something but when a product has existed for 20+ years they should have stopped to think why it never caught on. The company that originally came up with this idea 20 YEARS AGO marketed it to major companies ( like these guys want to do ) and no one bit. Why would any company pay these guys to produce their product when the 20+ year old patents can likely be purchased for far, far less? Just sayin.
This is why people don't like electric cars. They almost always make them look like a girl car (on behavior meds).
