Embarrassingly my early memories of Spore were painful, getting beaten by a worm in the Creature Stage. This time I would use the help of google to re-create Earth's most potent organism to give me the best opportunity to beat Spore. The results were unexpected. Let's say the Peace is more complicated than it first seems...Here is my brief review and experience of the 2008 Maxis Classic Spore.

These types of videos are like hidden gems. Man basically created a whole as 20 min video just for the sole purpose of having 1 Paul McCartney joke.
The creator of the video commented that he just went along with Google, he didn't expect or plan for Paul McCartney
My god that was amazing. Glad to see somebody actually getting into the space stage instead of abruptly ending the video when it begins. Your channel in general is an underrated gem good sir :)
More to come!
Yeah dude always kills me how everyone bails right then. I want to enjoy the whole experience not the part I've seen a thousand times.

will he do a part 2 and actually finish space stage? ( *cough cough* staff of life *cought cough* maybe conquer the entire galaxy through peaceful means (like bribery or allies) *cough cough* )
I really like to imagine Paul is just one creature, not the chain of creatures the game implies. He just grew all those parts on his own, like how we grow up
This is how I imagine playing the game normally
Just Google "the evolution of the beetles" and you can watch the whole thing in real time.
Man this game had so much potential. I remember being hyped for this coming out then learning that EA cut like half of the actual content that they had teased for years out of the game..There was video of a "water stage" between cell and creature stage. Looked so cool
@@Glgn272 hmm, good to know...
I remember seeing that someone was making a mod to add the sea stage again
Even tho they cut few things it still ended up as an amazing game and became a core memory of my childhood. Hope there will be a spore 2. there are maybe similar games but they come no where near the vibe u get from spore.
@@NomNomNom1989 I remember there was Dark Spore which was like an RPG but I think they removed it from all digital stores for bad ratings

I love how you noticed there's a music making section in the civilization stage! I know only one other person apart from me who found this feature but he didn't really like it because he couldn't make anything good with it and gave up. I agree that feature is not the best and provides very limited options but it's still interesting to play with it a little bit
It was a nice little feature, although it was tricky to get the time signatures right as the note length was difficult to interpret or read, so it took a lot of trial and error for me. I suspect most players would just use the randomise button until they found something they enjoyed though. It was definitely interesting to play with! thanks for the comment!
This was as entertaining as it was hilarious, loved it!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!

I chuckled so loudly at Paul McCartney. The serious delivery, comedic timing, and context was just top tier.
The way you narrate this makes it sound like a fucking documentry and I fucking love it, you have my respect and sub.
I suspect that some Chlorophil coverage of Black & White would be...interesting. In particular, the parenting techniques for an unruly Creature or disobedient flock.
The fact you were able to take band group and turn it into an actual entertaining spores video is amazing 😂

Not enough people show off the space stage, I think it's really fun! I especially love creating those wildlife sanctuary worlds and filling them up with my own creations. I had one called "Buppyworld" that I filled entirely up with these cute platypus-like species I made
"He always seemed constantly annoyed at the local wildlife, as he struggled to get satisfaction" Brilliant writing, Johnno's constant bloodlust did not go unappreciated
i was genuinely so shocked when you actually went with paul. the intro segment immediately intrigued me, and that was a great joke. honestly, this video was great.
the memories I used to play this as a kid like crazy years without playing it such a core memory
the amount of music references in this video is so insane it deserves an own video to explain them all😭
Awesome video bro. Total class! Great storytelling and educational too... didn't even know this game existed!
Cheers, glad you enjoyed it. Bit of a different direction than usual.

You just awakened a lost childhood memory of mine and i am very thankful for that...
I’m so happy to see someone actually get into the space stage! I thought I was the only one who enjoyed it!
Same!
Space stage is probably my favorite after a long time of 100%ing creature stage. I love the spices and moneys and terraforming. However, it's also the stage my game crashed in the most :D
@@LunarShimmer I always forget to save when playing and have to restart back to cell stage lol
I’m just a bit sad that you can’t control like an army of spaceships like in the civilization stage. I would’ve loved to destroy the Grox and establish a intergalactic empire under a new more -cruel- peaceful reign.

THAT INTRO HAD ME DYING HAHHAHAHA oh my god the narrative of this video is killing me this is hilarious
The Mars, the Bringer of War part was amazing. It's a great score with lots of comedic potential when used correctly.
You are a storyteller of great capability. I find myself laughing hours later after learning of the Paul, the most organism of the planet, and the monstrous approach of the massive Mick Jagger.
First time viewer. I like this video. Great story telling, and really funny. I like how I've played hundreds of hours on the space stage, and you made me see it in a whole new way. More of a story than a goal trying to be achieved. I wouldn't hate to see Paul continue his journey to the center of the universe.
Such a beautiful narrative, I just couldn't stop watching! Well done.
always happy to see spore videos, even more happy when they’re as entertaining as this one! i have always had a soft spot for spore as it was the first game i was ever given as a kid. love to see fresh and fun content about it!
I haven't heard a lot about the Beetles, but that joke nearly made me choke on my food. Thanks for the laughter.
The beetle joke caught me off guard. Honestly good pun, sir.
This is one of the most fun playthroughs of spore i've ever seen! The adventures of the beetles, from start to finish. You know how to keep people watching your videos, sir.
A childhood game of mine being so beautifully narrated made me smile
That intro was legendary. I'm so excited to finish the video! Wow, that was amazing. I really appreciate the effort you put into the storytelling.
I can't believe you're using my mom's all-time favorite musician to beat my all-time favorite computer game
One playthrough of Spore, I sort of accidentally made an elephant bird creature and humorously it could reach the tall tree fruits. However though I will say I never took on pack members in when I was a kid because I feared of them dying and I mostly took on other species, that was interesting and didn't work as well in my opinion. But for the creature stage, I always recruited from my own species and that brought far more synergy, like it makes anything past what is the equivalent of cell creation given legs so much easier. Also I know its called the cell stage but I think its more like cell and fish stage as you sort of become a fish, there was gonna be a definitive fish stage in the beta but it got cut. Also fun fact, if you want a little extra in terms of DNA points to spend, simply pick the starting cell that has two eyes, down the middle.
Always a good day when a new Chlorophil video is released! Also not gonna lie, this would make a great "The Beatles" documentary. Accurate and enjoyable. Would pay to watch it 100%
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I've never played, nor had any interest in Spore, and yet, here i am. It shows how efficiently and entertaining you made this video, all the while explaining mechanics, tips, and and overall experience on the game, making me very invested on not only the story and gameplay of the game, but also into your videos. Truly well done.

I clicked to see what spore was all about, but I stayed to see this beatle story play out… and I must say I was not disappointed 😢
I only realized on the animal stage that you meant the band "beetles" and not just a beetle insect named Paul

I love spore videos like this that just tell the story of a creatures progress through the game, joke or not. Spores highest qualities come through via creativity
Of all the Maxis games to pass me by why, oh why did this one escape me? I'd heard of it before this video but I'd yet to have seen such a proper showcase. If there's a part 2 you better believe I'm interested.

Technically the segmented body and number of appendages make your band “the arachnids”, not “the beetles”.
Not all 8 limbed 2 segmented bugs are arachnids. That said... I dont think any 8 limbed 2 segmented beetles exist... Considering 6 legs is part of the definition lol
im glad someone actually finished the game in one of these, props to you big man
