  • This event changed Dina's life btw. Despite being a chess GM, she always had trouble getting a US visa. Nick Allen and the rest at Mogul Moves worked with an immigration lawyer and she now has a 10 year visa, meaning she now can do tournaments and content in the US :) Also huge shoutout to Matt, who made the women's card happen in the first place cause he knew Dina. Plus his commentary was just fantastic. On par with Lud and they also had great chemistry.

    • I didn't expect to love that match, but I also didn't expect I'd ever find myself with half a celebrity-crush on some goofball named Cherdsley, yet here we are lmao 😂 The friendly vibes & showmanship from both fighters absolutely made it work. I think it's proof of concept that chess pro wrestling (pro chess wrestling? presstling? pretssling? petition to call it pretssling because it sounds like pretzeling lol), complete with memey scripted chess, would be AMAZING. Those guys just showed up with senses of humor & willingness to be vulnerable in front of the crowd, & without even any prep or scripting, they made it a hit. There's no way a more deliberate production in that vein wouldn't be a roaring success. I'd be all over it & I don't even enjoy pro wrestling 😂

      @ItsAsparageese@ItsAsparageese Жыл бұрын
    • Yeah, I thought Cherdley's showboating was just to overcompensate for his boxing, and Myth would just flatten him, but he actually went rounds and held his own. He put on a great show with the chess, too. Even though they both were not the best at chess on the day, they made it look the best. Hyping up the crowd and getting involved.

      @VixeyTeh@VixeyTeh Жыл бұрын
    • @@VixeyTeh Occurs to me that we all also owe thanks to the chess arbiter. She did a fantastic job of making the right judgment calls about when to watch out for precise rule adherence & when to just let the chess be casual & fun. It would have been totally appropriate if she told them not to have gesture-interactions with the audience at all during the game, but such firm enforcement would've been unnecessary & much less entertaining

  • Hey lud, maybe for your next event you should have pre-event entertainment to have the seats filled with the crowd before the stream and to give a reason to be in person for the event. Nothing to special just thirty, maybe an hour before the main event. Idk what kind of entertainment but something.

  • Only 200K lost on a 1.6M event is a good margin. If you literally got 1 more sponsor or made more merchandise so it didn’t sell out in the first minute you could’ve broken even

  • I have to be honest Ludwig, before this event I was subscribed but didn't really watch your content that often, not because you're not entertaining mind you but because I just listen to it like background noise. I also don't watch boxing matches either, however your boxing event was one of the best things I have seen this year, I was going to watch only the Chris fight, I ended up watching the whole event and man what a nail biter. I was floored by how professional and exciting the event was, I must say I am now more than convinced you're one of the best, can't wait for your next events and I'll try to get my visa to be at the next event (I live in mexico). Wish you the best Lud and hope you have great holidays!
