  • I've noticed, that most comedians Sean brings to the show are actually very serious, deep, mostly cynical and really observant and intelligent people, who put up some kind of a defensive facade in the beginning and slowly open up towards the end.

  • Amazing how Sean completely reversed Bob's expectations of this interview. I could tell from the beginning he wasn't feeling the vibe and was probably expecting some cookie cutter interview with only questions relating to the Breaking Bad universe. What an absolutely brilliant and joyful interaction here.

  • Bob Odenkirk at the beginning really was giving vibes that he didn't want to be there doing a gimmicky interview and had really low expectations. But, Sean's ability to ask thought-provoking questions and keep guests entertained is AMAZING! By the end you could tell Bob was genuinely enjoying himself. Keep it up Hot Ones!!!

  • It’s actually insane that the writing in BB and BCS is so good that Bob has learned life lessons from playing a character in those shows. “Let go of resentments” is a major theme in both shows and although they’re fictional, they’re so well written and believable that the actors involved feel those themes on a personal level. As does the audience.

  • Sean does an incredible job of (pleasantly) surprising his A-list guests. He catches them off guard and gets them to open up and share parts of themselves we don't often get to see. His skills as an interviewer are why we keep coming back, but he keeps it all cleverly hidden behind the spicy-wing-eating challenge and the heavyweight guest list. Hats off to you, First We Feast!

    • @@TheDigitalDecade You can't really do bits on this show - well you can but at least for Bob's style it wouldn't work. Sean only asks questions then move on to the next ones for the wings - there's really no rooms for improvisation and enough rapport to build a bit. If it was Conan or something then he can certainly do bits on his own but this show's format really restricts that kind of thing.

  • Honestly, the best part of this show is how well-researched Sean and the crew are about a guest. They paint a full, complete picture of a person's career and life. Their breakout role is touched on, but it's only a piece of the larger picture. Like here...the episode is not about Saul/Jimmy, it's about Bob and his path through life. It's absolutely fascinating. When you're THAT good, the hot sauce is just the cherry on top.

  • I remember seeing the first episodes of Hot Ones and thought it was an interesting take on interviews, but I never thought that Sean would turn out to be such gifted interviewer. He seems to me that he is to interviewing what Anthony Bourdain was to storytelling. And that to me is the greatest compliment.

  • I’m 57 years old, I watch way too much television and movies, Bob is one of the best actors of all time, and Better Call Saul is definitely one of the best shows I have ever seen in my entire life. It made me laugh harder than I ever have, it made the hair on my neck rise many times, it made me cry, and so on and so forth.

  • Sean is consistently one of the best interviewers. Wins over almost every guest with his earnest and well researched questions. Bob was sort of dismissive at the start, but guarantee this one of his most entertaining interviews. Love it Sean😉😀

    • @@Narapoia1 Obviously I'm not Chris, but I think I just preferred the drama and characters in BB. Walter and Jesse's dynamic was the driving force that kept my interest in the show. It's honestly a very hard call to make, considering BCS has some of the best writing in TV.

    • @@2255223388 I watched breaking bad 8 or 9 times and the same with BCS waiting until that last season came out. Once it did, I stopped watching them both. It recontextualized both series for me to the point where they are depressing tales of selfish people ruining the lives of everyone around them. Obviously BB had the same themes, but BCS really made it sink in for me. I loved the tale of Walter White and even empathized with him til the end, but Saul is pure tragedy. He doesn't get a heroes death, he loses and faces his consequences.

  • Sean is so genuine as a fan & host. So thoughtful in these like complex multi layered questions to the guests. Very cool. I loved some of Odenkirks insights to the characters he’s played and directed also. I think sauls story was masterful in the way he kind of back engineered the breaking bad storyline in BCS as one of the most important parts of the saga & possibly the best sense of closure we get out of it all! Great episode guys.

  • Underrated scene is when Bob asks is they make people watch him eat all 12 wings and Sean says they're kind in the edit. Then the editor just leaves it on Bob going in on a flat lol. Small moments like that elevate this show against so many others.

  • I love Bob, always have as an Actor and a writer, he is the best. But I have to add Sean and his team do such a wonderful job of coming up with really great questions. This is become my favorite weeknight show and I have only seen maybe 6 of them!

  • Aside from the fact that he just BOSSED all those hot sauce like a champ, anything this guy is in I’m watching it. He’s an amazing actor. It’s literally because of him that I finally caved and watched Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
