The hate is real for this man is insane , he fights one of the greatest fighters of all time at 22 years old and loses and gets endless hate since. Becomes a 4 division world champ , lineal champ in 3 of those divisions Has fought 19 champions , beat 17 champions (highest of any active champion today) , becomes undisputed at 168 , after wiping out the champs at 168 .. he moves up to 175lb to challenge the next champion (Canelo’s only 5’8 keep that in mind ). There's an acrual really good video explaining the reason, pretty much because there's opnly 1 big promotion the UFC that has 90% of the market share if you wanna fight any kind of MMA professionaly and become big you pretty much only have the UFC and that gives them total contol over the negotiations the UFC just can say "well you want more money find another promotion that pays more and fight there, o yeah there isn't so you aceept the payment or don't fight"
About 10-12 years ago. I was maybe 14 or 15 years old. Grew up watching boxing because of my dad. I saw on ESPN they were talking about a “red headed Mexican that could be the future of boxing” and he was just a prospect at the time. I decided that was going to be my guy who I followed and made sure to keep up with along with the other fighters I watched. What do you know? All these years later I’ve celebrated the victories, hurt at the losses, and watched history being made for Mexican boxing and boxing across the world. So tomorrow night let’s go Canelo!!!!!

I can attest to that! Canelo graciously allowed me to "take a selfie" during the Icon Series golf tournament. Later that day, and in between holes, I boldly asked for his golf tee in which Canelo generously and diplomatically obliged. What impressed me most about Canelo was the fact that he truly appreciated the turnout of his fans and was very humbled by the fact that so many support his career. Canelo's appreciation was obvious by the time he took to interact with every person that approached him during the day. So, yes I do agree with you.

Big time boxers get paid much more than big time UFC stars, but small time boxers get paid less than small time UFC fighters. In UFC fighters are essentially employees, but in boxing the fighters are pretty much their own company, so all the money goes between the two boxers. No one is taking a cut in boxing, where as in UFC they take a big cut.

yeah watching the fight live in round 6 i was expecting him to change his gameplan but he didnt, i actually got frustrated even his coach didnt tell him to adjust which made me even more frustrated but tbf, (canelo really has stamina issues) i think he was really tired that he couldn't even comprehend what he was supposed to do

I watched some of canelos early fights and I can't remember who I was talking with but they were talking about some fighter. And I said to them this kid Alvarez is very good watch this kid he's gonna be a champion. Sometimes when you see a fighter you can see if you really look at them if they have it. And there is an it and when I seen him fight canelo I mean something caught my eye. And it was he had the it. My grandfather and my father were boxers and we watched fights like Hagler hearns and my father would show me why those guys were the best. And when I watched young canelo fight I seen the same in him that my father had shown me in those other greats of the sport. Love watching canelo fight your watching greatness so give the respect it's well earned. Thanks canelo for all the great fights. Retire champion. Big fan up in Canada 🇨🇦. If I could give Canelo one piece of advice, it would be not to underestimate GGG on Saturday night doing so it would be a mistake!

Canelos a household name, he makes more that any type of fighter, mma, boxing you name it. Any regular fighter has to do a lot of fights a year to make that bread. But they’re still making 75,000$ plus a fight which is more than a lot of people are making a year living regular day to day lives
For those that don’t understand why they call him Canelo. Canelito or Canelo means cinnamon or cinnamony. That’s because he’s a red head. In Spanish canela is cinnamon, but since he’s a guy they added an O at the end. For me, for boxing nicknames this is the Mexican version of adding “Sugar” into your name.
