    • I do the same, but I see it as a powerful tool. It brings understanding and knowledge, as long as the aim is right (feels right) and the perspective changing, you’ll get closer to having a whole view on whatever it is you think, and once you have enough, move on to the next Even tho it can be taxing, I never saw overthinking as a bad thing, but always as a gift.

  • I usually don't care for AI generated channels but i have to give credit where credit is due. Its simple and to the point, sometimes we need to be told something we need to hear in a way we will hear it. Id like to give a bonus to those who chronically overthink, don't use alchohol to drown the thoughts, you dont need to stop drinking but using this way will give you two problems, you will get used to drinking when you feel this way, and you will drink more as a result. The second thing is alchohol is a depressant, that means you will feel depressed once the nice feeling passes and once you do it enough it will be your way of being, you will think that the smallest of things in hopeless and as a result you will overthink. Stay strong out there guys.

  • Someone else in the comment section has probably mentioned "How to let go of the thinking". Here are my 2 cents on this. I struggled with overthinking, but thanks to a meditation practice, this has ceased to be a problem. I still experience thoughts, but are no longer affected by them in the same way. And there are moments of silence, of a quiet mind. The way meditation works is by placing your focus on one thing. And whenever you catch yourself lost in thoughts, you return to the object of focus (for example watching your breath). By doing this everyday for a certain period, you will become better at detecting thoughts and return focus on breath (or other stuff). Eventually you will be able to do this while not meditating, but doing other stuff (chores, sitting on a bus, etc). Essentially creating a new habit of returning to the present, instead of the habit of engaging in thoughts. But the key thing for me, was to be able to notice a kind of feeling of surrendering to the current moment. It does not feel taxing or a matter of concentration to surrender. It is simply a very natural state of being. Probably what we experienced a lot more as a child. I would very much encourage you just to try a meditation practice, and there are so many you can try until you find a practice you enjoy. Even if you don't believe this will work, no matter what logic the mind uses, do meditation once a day (morning). Trust me on this :) Wish you happiness, clarity and peace ❤ Namaste!

  • The key is the balance between thinking, being and doing. Be aware of your ovethinking, that's almost all you need to success. Than you can decide to stop it - just do it - just stand up right now and go painting, go do sports, go meet with friends, whatever, or just focus on your breath, on world around you. Realize that it's your desicion, it's up to you, you are the director. Meditating helps.

  • For those wondering how to put the glass down. Maybe this will help. Everytime you notice your are carrying the glass (aka overthinking), just realize it in a kind way and come back to the present. Bring your attention back by feeling (massaging yourself for example), looking, listening,.. to your surrounding. Distract yourself from overthinking everytime your realize you're doing it. Don't be too hard on yourself. In other words try to think less and be/feel more. Thinking is good, (negative) overthinking is unnecessary. It will take a while but practice makes perfect. Hopes this helps :)

  • Tell me if Im wrong, but people overthink because the present is not as good as we want it. Be in the present and being able to accept it is two different things. So, you can ot just let things go as mind will bring them back always! We have to be able to not react and act. Also find that out whats really wrong and it is mostly goes back to financial issues I think. 1., Life is what it is. accept it or change after you have found that out whats better than this now or whats really Bothers you. This needs heavy action. 2., Find the way to handle money and follow it strickly. 3., Last and not least, please yourself in the way that youll become healthy and realxed in your freetimes that you have to create. You have to be the first in your life. Eat healthy and spend time effortlessly, learn new recepies and be open for learning new things that is benefiting only you. This is your own life.

As you notice them over the years they become repetitive and less powerful. Stressing about having something you're biologically hard wired to have wil only make it worse. It's not easy to do tho, negative thoughts can be v sneaky and manipulative.
